Got A Beer Complaint? Tell Me All About It! The MMP

Bad Loki! swats Loki across the nose with a rolled up newspaper

::takes the rolled-up newspaper from LOUNE’s hands::

::replaces it with an aluminum baseball bat::

Proceed.

Well, I survived the first day of classes. My bum is numb. My back is killing me (need a new chair). I asked in class re my woes and got some advice. I tried it–I can access my webpage via Safari, but no in FF. No idea why. Of course, the school uses FF.

The Open Office is something different. Of course, after all that–she said in class (different class) that we could even draw it, scan it and send it to her that way. Gee, thanks. Never heard of neo-office, but thanks. Really don’t want to go back and redo it, either. I’m going to bed. Work in am–I’ve never been so happy to NOT have to do school work in all my life.

yays, boos, oh-nos and hugs as appropriate.

Almost forgot:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, interface2x!
(it’s today, right?)

just in case:
Happy Birthday, Interface2X!!!

So I’ll be signing off a little early tonight. Good nights all around and good mornings to the globe trotters!

::::Happy Birthday, Interface!::::

See, I came back just for you.

proceeds to pound Loki like the fax machine got it in Office Space
Better?

Wow, them are some big and colorful fonts! Thank you

I’m 30 today! I’m so old!!

Hello to everyone and I have a question … how do you people keep up on all these posts??? I try, but I end up having to skim because I don’t have the time I’d like to devote to it all.

p’sh  presenteth unto me a rather large sized break

I suppose there’s some odd sense in the fact that I have insomnia tonight. Do you suppose I can’t sleep because there’s no beeping, clunking, or bright lights?

Ok, so it’s a tad late…

Mindude and LOUNE quit doin’ mean things to BBBobbio’s dog!

doggio why yes I do like men fightin’ over me. This time it was over my talents not my natural beauty, however.

Have a great day everybody!

Oh rosie - what an awful 30 hours!!! You would be amazed what you get used to in terms of sleep noise! I know here that when the weather gets cool enough to switch off the ACs at night, it takes me a couple of weeks to get used to the lack of noise in the bedroom!

Happy birthday interface!!!

Electricity is back to normal - fortunately, all was back to normal by the time we got home from Noor’s doctor’s appointment yesterday afternoon, so we managed to get her down to sleep in her own cot. As for the rationing, it happens on a somewhat regular basis here in summer, as demand regularly seems to outstrip supply, particularly during certain periods of the day (11am to 3pm and 11pm to 4am). After the big blackout of August 2004 (the whole country had no power for one whole day, when it was about 50[sup]o[/sup]C (122[sup]o[/sup]F)), the government promised it would never happen again and decided the only way to keep that promise was to ration electricity during peak periods. All houses have split/dual power supplies and once or twice a month during summer, you lose half your electricity during a peak period, sometimes during the day, sometimes at night, but you should always have at least part of the house with AC and lights, etc.

My sister used to live down the road from Burghley House a few years back (about 8, now I come to think of it). Sis was working at the Stamford Hospital on Ryhall Road and she and her husband lived in a flat at the hospital. I visited them once and went to have a gander at Burghley, but the house was closed, being November and all! BIG house!!!

Mork, computer problems suck!!! My bodgy internet problems seem to have resolved themselves now I changed firewalls though! :dubious: I dunno why, but as soon as I uninstalled Sunbelt and changed over to ZoneAlarm, all is once again right with the world of intertubes and my li’l laptop!

BooFae, keep teh sick to yourself please! We have had more than enough pukeys and runny noses in this house in the last couple of months!

{{{Nooner}}}, you and Joolie are scaring me with all this “growing up fast” business! Stop it! NOW!

Roo, I wasn’t flirting with Nooner, it was just a kind of childlike tousling of his hair, to allay his feelings of abandonment and loneliness! Would you like a platonic hug to compensate???

Well, I have handed off Noor to MIL for a few hours so I can get some housework done and have a rest! I think teething has now started in earnest, with Noor now waking up every 2 hours at night, needing teething gel and comforting, only to wake up in earnest at 5:15am every morning! And then during the day, she is really grumpy and wants to be held all the time, the only exception being when I put the equivalent of Arabic MTV on - for some reason, Arabic pop music mesmerizes her!

Naturally, as soon as we got to MIL’s place, I managed to do teh dumb! Went to change Noor’s nappy and as soon as I slipped the dirty one out, she peed all over the change mat and got covered in pee, all up her back! Before I could scramble for a towel, MIL walks in and starts shouting at me that I shouldn’t have both the fan and the air-conditioner on and why is she naked and all wet, and what is wrong with you??? I just … I just handed Noor to her and walked out of the room. Gah! I needed a full 10 minutes to calm down before I could go and check on Noor before I came home. That woman really knows how to push my buttons!!!

Okay, off to defrost the chicken for my satay chicken pizzas, then throw some washing on, before I maybe lay down for 30 minutes.

First things first:

Cumpleaños feliz,
cumpleaños feliz,
te deseamos, interfaaaaaaz,
¡cumpleaños feeeeeeeeeeeliiiiiiiiiiz!

The way we keep up is, half of us don’t keep up.

Ouchies to the sick people, hope y’all get better soon.

Oso Pantanoso, I’m envious. I’ve had bosses fighting over me, but it was after more than a few weeks in the place!

The dad of my youngest brother’s non-girlfriend (she doesn’t wanna) was to get a bionic hip this month, but he got some kind of renal problem… which is not in the kidneys… looks like it’s actually a digestive problem… he’s getting a colonoscopy and will not be going bionic until this whatever-it-is gets fixed. Prayers etc appreciated.

My uncle had two polyps removed from his colon last week. They’re waiting on the results from the biopsies, but the surgery itself went well. Prayers appreciated too…

Happy Birthday, Interface!

Sorry to hear you had such a rough time in the horsepickle, BioRosie and then insomnia on top of all that. Hope you’re soon feeling better!

I’m all recovered from my brief visit to the hell of the NHS, it’s certainly somewhere I won’t want to go again in a hurry! In fact, I’m so recovered, I’m thinking of going to the gym this week.

Dotty - is Noor better now?

Swampy - it was an excellent OP and you should definitely get the job of complaints man, in fact you should be on a productivity bonus there.

Rigs and Mork - are your computer woes sorted out yet? I can barely make sense of what you’ve been posting, it’s so far over my head. 'im indoors usually sorts out my computer troubles although I have to say that most of them are of his making!

Nava - sending positive thoughts to your family too!

No signs of a cute PA with a moped yet, so I had to get Shanks’ pony to deliver all the committee papers. Everybody’s got them now, so I shall expect them to be read and fully understood by next week. Now I just have to go and copy another set for a different committee.

Don’t you wish you had my job?

Keep up? It varies. Some weeks I’m able to keep up; some weeks I can’t. Most of the time it’s somewhere in the middle.

And, as rosie said: ummmm not old.

You want a beer complaint, eh?

I can’t afford one! They cost upwards of $9 dollars, per pint!

grumble Goddamn Norway. In other news, Oslo is again ranked as the most expensive city of the world. At 32% more expensive than New York . . .

Posted too soon and now I missed the edit window:

Dotty - sorry about MIL; if you didn’t notice the air and it wasn’t bothering Noor, then why would anyone worry? And thanks for the explanation on the rationing; that makes much more sense. Did they have to rewire things so that they could implement rationing or were houses wired that way before?

Prayers headed out for non-GF’s father and your uncle.

Wow…I had no idea Oslo was so expensive, Gukumatz! Here, have a beer.

GT

Up and caffeinating - it’s been a very busy week at work so far. Yesterday the internet went down and it appears to still be down as I just tried to get to my work email and it couldn’t find the page!

Hugs and thoughts for Anyrose and BooFae - glad you’re back now, Boo-Fairy! And Dotty, I hope HRH is doing better and that you’re catching your breath a bit while she’s with your MIL - sorry for your problems with -her- though!

Better go get ready for work - enjoy your day, all!

Is it somebody’s birthday or something in here?

I’m perceptive.
