I had SUCH a good time with my son (and dogs. I love my DIL dearly, but when she’s with us, she and I chatter like magpies, and my son gets much quieter, plus it’s just nice to have him all to myself.
The dogs always make me laugh. One of them can’t have many treats because of, er, gastric disturbances, and she loves treats, so when she gets one, she somehow snaps it into her mouth from six inches away. The other (the one in the photo I posted last time) can have all the treats she wants, but when you hold one out, she sniffs and considers, then takes it reluctantly and sets it on the floor. Life is not fair. She did that today, and the other dog said, “Are you freakin’ kidding me?” and snarfed it before you could say, “Hoover sucks!”
They’re good chums, though.
I went to the gym to burn off the cupcake I had for dessert. (I was only going to have half, but suddenly it was gone, and I can never joke about the snarfy dog again.)
Sari, a big YAAAAAY on your son getting his learners permit, and here’s hoping he feels better about it as time goes by. So he doesn’t have to take drivers ed, but he still needs to get in 14 hours behind the wheel? Do I have that right? Also, I can only imagine how exhausted you are if you keep falling asleep when you sit down.
I’ve had this fantasy for years. (No, not that kind of fantasy. Hearing about that kind’ll cost you $9.95 for the first three minutes.) I buy a huge house on the ocean and open it to people who, like Sari, are exhausted. Maybe, like her, they’re overburdened, or they just had a baby, or they’re barely well after being ill. They get plenty of good food (including pasta because it has magical curative powers), fresh fruit, salads, and a glass or three of wine every day. They get to rest as much as they like. Walks on the beach are encouraged but not required. They can eat in the dining room and laugh a lot or get served in bed. When they’re all rested, they go home with a hug and a goodie bag. Isn’t that a nice daydream?
JtC, that’s the funniest cat story ever! I can’t wait to share it with my daughter…and everyone else I know. Hell, I’ll share it with strangers. I’ll be giggling as I lie in bed tonight, so thank you!
@EmilyG, so glad you popped in! I sure hope you get a diagnosis soon. It sucks to be tired all the time .
