Right - ‘I assume’ that Adalade 's exorcism was akin to the one from this episode - otherwise the concept of the Wessen (thanks) being actual creatures and not just ‘cursed people’ gets confused.
I wish they would tell us more about that. We need to know if the Grimm blood thing only works on Hexenbiests.
You mean like a female version of Sergeant Wu? He seems to be completely unattached romantically.
When the “ghost” or whatever left Adalind I thought that maybe Hexenbiests were not like other wesen in that they were magically created as opposed to being born like that, but then Renard is half hexenbist because of one of his parents. And Adalind’s mother is hexenbist too.
So maybe Nick didn’t turn her fully human. He took away her powers, and I’m guessing one of those was the ability to “woge” or transform into her wesen self.
We’ve seen BOTH families of a particular type of wesen – the beavers, that group of bears with the teenaged kids coming of age – AND ‘mixed marriages’ types. Last episodes, uh, goat and mouse? wesen, and of course Munroe/Rosalind’s wolf/fox.
So… my theory is that there is a sort of general gene/curse that is heritable. Wesen are simply human beings who have inherited/been curse with that trait. But what particular type of wesen they end up has to do with personality more than what ‘species’ your parents were. So meek retiring types turn into sheep and mice, industrious types become beavers, the aggressive ones are wolfs, and so forth.
And the fact that children mostly end up like their parents has to do with inheriting similar personality traits along with being nurtured by parents with those traits.
Anyway, it’s a theory.
They still haven’t shown us any offspring of these mixed-Wesen unions. It has to come up at some point. (There was the sheep girl, pregnant by blutbad, but we don’t know what the baby will be like.)
a sheep in wolf’s clothing?
Maybe use “cow” for hexenbiest, as according to Rosalie, there’s a different term for males of that species like Chief Rennard (I forget what she said the term was).
Anyway, shouldn’t Rosalie have been excused from the jury since she knows Wu? I mean, they don’t hang out a lot, but they have met and have friends in common.
It’s confirmed– Grimm has been renewed for a third season.
Nice. Looks like tonight’s episode is teh one what was scheduled for last week (due to the events in Boston)
Brian
Yes, tonight’s episode is the one that was pre-empted by the Bomber Chase. Oddly, it seems to have been renamed as well (was “Ring of Fire” now listed as “Volcanalis”).
Also, a DVR alert – the show is moving to Tuesdays at 10 starting next week (4/30) and will remain there for the rest of this season.
Bummer. I like it as a Friday-night show – reminds me of the good old days when Homicide and Picket Fences were on Friday nights.
Interesting… I wonder if the name change is so that it won’t be marked as a repeat by DVR’s that still have “Ring of Fire” recorded (even though it’s really the Boston coverage).
OH, that could be. I wondered why they would change it.
I wonder when it was that Friday came to be seen as TV’s Death Row (the EW article mentioning the move asks “Which other shows have escaped the Friday Night Death Slot?”). And I thought ratings these days accounted for time-shifting (well, within a few days anyway), so you would think the actual night of the “broadcast” mattered less these days. But yes, I do still remember the days when there were “appointment TV” shows that you didn’t want to miss (NBC had “Must See TV” on Thursdays, I think).
Yeah, that makes sense. My first thought was they might have thought “Ring of Fire” was insensitive to the Boston Bomber victims.
If that’s why, it didn’t work for me. DVR didn’t record it, guess I’ll get it On Demand.
Do you have Comcast? I do, and my DVR didn’t record it. When I dug into DVR History, it claimed that episode had been recorded previously. Neat trick on a first-run episode.
I have Dish Network and it recorded the episode just fine.
Mine said it was going to record it - then didn’t - had I not been watching ‘live’ I would have been majorly pissed.
Didn’t your DVR record an hour of bomber news last week and name it Grimm? That was the episode. DVRs don’t know real-time what is actually being shown, they just go by the network schedule and Grimm was scheduled.
If Comcast didn’t get the episode nane change or goes by the episode number then it thinks it already recorded that episode.
Luckily you can watch Grimm online unlike Person of Interest.
Yes, Comcast. And no, my DVR had not recorded bomber news as I knew it wouldn’t be on and canceled the recording before it started. Guess that was still good enough for Comcast DVR to not really think it was new.
But when I looked at my scheduled recordings earlier int he evening last night it has shown it as something that was going to be recorded and then didn’t. Since the show is available on demand I’m not too upset by it. But it isn’t the first time the Scheduled Recording list showed something that didn’t actually record.
