Let’s see. Adalind causes Hank to fall fatally in love with her.
Adalind’s mother makes a potion to wake up Julia, but it causes fatal passion between Sean and Julia.
And now Nick is going to have a fatal attraction to a woman who’s probably a Hexenbiest.
I see a pattern emerging on the show. All that’s left is for Wu to drink a love potion or eat a love cookie and actually fall in love (instead of eating everything in sight like the last time).
Not particularly trying to convince you of anything except that maybe your standards on what makes for a bad person are a bit inconsistent.
But just so long as we agree that infantilizing her by deciding on her behalf what it is safe for her to know about her own deeply distressing situation is awesome. Big strong man taking the emotional bullet for his weak little woman. How sweet.
I only caught the last 35 or so minutes of Grimm tonight, but it seems that Juliette is easing herself into acceptance of Nick’s (and the wessens’) true character.
I think Juliette is stronger than has been previously assumed. She was incredibly strong in her disbelief. This is not a character flaw. It is a strength.
A strong disbelief, when overcome with overwhelming facts, can become a strong belief. Juliette is headed in this direction.
I’m floored. Juliette apologized for being such a bitch?
She might at this point be pulling herself off the Scrappy Heap, by growing up and realizing others have feelings too, and that she’s not just some widdle abused victim of everyone around her. We’ll see if this sudden burst of maturity and actually giving a damn about anyone else lasts.
We have AT&T U-Verse and the DVR did not record the rescheduled Ring of Fire episode. I went to check On Demand last night - was going to try to squeeze it in before last night’s ep aired - and it wasn’t there either. It had episodes 217 (the jury trial) and 219 (the glowing dude) but no 218. I guess I’ll have to catch the rerun this summer.
I laughed at the very end of the episode when the guy in the holding cell went for the gun and Renard stopped him, but did so in an almost annoyed manner.
And he actually said “Really?” in a very snarky way.
I really hope Wu is not brought into the inner circle. They’ve established a pretty good “Scooby Gang” group, with Hank, Renard, Monroe, Rosalee, and (soon) Juliette all in on the secret and aware of and working with the Wesen. If they keep adding to that group, they risk not only diluting that dynamic, but losing any sense of normalcy within the show. Wu gives us the everyman perspective (in addition to doing the actual police work). If every regular character in the show is aware of the Wesen and Nick’s abilities, I think it will lose a little more of its sense of reality – which it already pushes to the edge. (Yes, I know it’s an urban fantasy, but if we’re accepting that Wesen have lived side-by-side with humans undiscovered except for the Grimms throughout history, it’s important not to lose that perspective by having everyone aware of them now.)
Anyway. I do like that the group seems to be consolidating into a tight little alliance, even if Renard’s participation is looked upon somewhat uneasily. I like that he showed a little more concern for Nick this week by showing his true face to the Musai and threatening her on Nick’s behalf.
Just two more episodes left, and we’re apparently going to see (spoilered for the preview-averse)Zombies! Oh, and Juliette is apparently taken fully into confidence as the friendly Wesen woge for her (including, unless I misunderstood the scene, our friendly little beaver). We should expect some progress on Adalind’s quest too, I hope.
(Somebody needs to do a parody video featuring the Wesen “woge-ing” to a Madonna soundtrack.)
I thought that defending Nick from the Musai was kind of dumb on Renyard’s part. Until now, he’s been mostly successful in keeping his knowledge of Nick away from his family and the wessen community in general. His cover was blown with the families by Adalind, but he still had plausible deniability with the lesser wessen, I think.
