Grimm Season 2

Apparently we’re not the only ones to love the beaver – glad he got an extended cameo last night.

Yeah, I thought Bud was hilarious last night–in top form. He does “nervous” really well. I was cracking up.

I liked how they kept delaying Monroe’s woge, working up to it with Rosalee and Bud going first. I also liked how Juliette immediately walked out of the shop, then came back.

See, I think that Rosalee’s woge is cute.

If wessen were real and someone was trying to show me then I don’t think I’d lose my mind, but I would have them woge several times to observe it from multiple angles to make sure they weren’t playing an elaborate prank on me.

Baron von Pufferfish

Oh, definitely. I’m not a furry, but…

I came up with “Voodoo fugu.”

Looking at the preview for the next episode, looks to me like Adalind might well be playing out of her league and is dealing with people she can’t handle. Am I the only one who thinks that?

Adalind has almost always struck me as being in over her head, especially her dealings within the Wesen world. Yes, she was able to seduce Hank with the help of her magic, and her potion damaging Juliette’s memory was successful, but Eric (Captain Renard’s brother) has always seemed to be using her more than she’s using him, and even Captain Renard used and disposed of her easily. And of course Nick was able to negate her powers without breaking a sweat, really.

She did manage to get herself pregnant with royal blood, but it remains to be seen how that will work out for her (and being between Frau Pech and Stefania does indeed seem to be a tenuous position).

I have a suspicion that “Royal” somehow doesn’t involve Wesen, per-se. I’m wondering if it’s something to do with some sort of Grimm or human leadership/overlordship. For example, Renard is half-Royal, half-Hexenbiest, but when he does his woge, he looks like a half-Hexenbiest human, which makes me wonder if his Royal half is either Human or Grimm.

Anyone else wonder about this?

I thought this was pretty well-established in the show’s mythology (going back to season 1) – the royal families are humans who are aware of the Wesen and historically have used them for their own purposes. Royals have at times employed Grimms to keep rogue Wesen in check.

It’s not very well-defined in the show where the Royals’ power comes from, other than historical precedent and the apparent mercenary alliance with Grimms, but they are human families located in Europe. Renard’s royal heritage comes from his human father’s dalliance with a hexenbiest. Renard’s father is also also Eric’s father, and Eric seems to be one of the Royals who wields power in Europe (I don’t think we know if their father is alive or dead).

Adalind’s baby may have been fathered by either Eric or Sean (Captain Renard); we don’t know for sure though they did make a point of showing her taking the pregnancy test after she seduced Sean while he was under the influence of the love spell due to Juliette’s situation. We do know the baby is a legitimate Royal descendant because Frau Pech and Stefania tested the baby’s blood.

Eric took a phone call from his father in the most recent episode, so he’s still alive.

Oh, right! Thanks. How could I have forgotten that conversation? “You slept with a hexenbiest too; look where that got us.”

Wasn’t there was that one kid that was two different types of wessen, and had two completely seperate woges?

Yeah, and he had split personalities to go with them.

well, I liked the finale - especially the ‘to be continued …’ screen.

Yeah, that was funny.

The voodoo guy is a good villain. A bit comic bookish, but it fits the show.

Juliette is in over her head, but I like her gumption.

I don’t feel the least bit sorry for Nick. Barron Von Voodoo was obviously leading him into a trap and Nick fell for it without question.

Something just occurred to me. Maybe Nick is pulling off something similar to what Adalind did. Pretend to get captured.

Nick handing off the ‘key’ to Rosalee would be in keeping with your theory.

Does he have something to counter the zombie juice he just inhaled?
