Sad to hear this. I remember her from the old days of the SDMB.
RIP Guin.
Hey, I remember you from the vBulletin days!
When I found out, it was important to me to let others know. Especially here, where she had such a presence. I don’t even know where else she may have been active. Her family might not even know.
Damn. Very much too bad.
She apparently last posted on March 9.
@av8rmike, thanks very much for letting us know.
Sad news
Shocked and saddened. I remember giving her a hard time in a few threads many years ago, and now I feel bad about it.
Yes. And on March 6, she recommended we visit Klavon’s Ice Cream Parlor in Pittsburgh. We will definitely do that in memory of her.
Her last post on the Giraffe Boards was on the evening of March 11th about her cats and celebrating a Penguins win. There were few things that she loved more.
I’m so sorry to read this. She was a mainstay here and at GB. An iconic poster if there ever was one.
May her memory be for a blessing.
This is terrible news indeed. I remember interacting with her fondly early on here, and on the Giraffeboards. I know there’s a saddened shock for her biological family, but I wish there was a term for the same sad shock for her Internet family.
Tripler
Whatever that word is, I’m feeling it now. . .
Goodbye Guin. You were a class act. I’m really gonna miss seeing your posts.
Wow. This place will never be the same. Peace to her.
I can’t begin to process this. She loved her cats and her NHL team, the Penguins.
I’ll root for the Pens for you, Guin.
How can this be? She was just here! Truly stunned and saddened to hear this.
I wish I’d seen this earlier - I’m waiting for my flight gone from a conference in Pittsburgh and I’d have made a stop.
Shocked and saddened. So young!
Another person who really helped define the Board’s personality. My sympathies to her family.
Such a sad loss, my condolences to all who knew and loved her.
After I left the boards for a number of years, I returned wondering what I would find. One of the first things I saw was one of her posts and I smiled, knowing that some things never change. Until now.
Rest in peace, Guin. It was a fun 20-something years.
RIP
Awful news. So sorry for those who loved her.
