Back in February, 2010 I created Haiku Madness (link). At one point I strayed from the thread. I recently sought it out again only to find that it had been closed on 9/3/2020. Apparently threads max out at 10,000 replies.
So I did a search to see if anyone revived the game. I found “Haiku Madness – Even More Madness” thread. But, upon venturing in, I realized that it is not really HM (where your first line must be the final line of the previous haiku), but rather a series of semi- or unrelated haikus.
Nothing against that, but I’d like to continue the original concept.
This is my Post One from the original thread:
After posting a reply to this thread, I’ve come up with a new game that’s sure to sweep the nation: Haiku Madness .
Allow me to explain. The thread of note was about the disappearance of the actor who portrayed the character Boner on the old sitcom ‘Growing Pains’. The title of the thread: Boner Gone Missing.
I replied stating that Boner Gone Missing sounded like the beginning of an interesting haiku, which I then completed and posted:
Boner gone missing
She doesn’t shave her armpits
Wanna play Yahtzee?
Anyway, I thought we could make a game of this. The rules are simple: write a haiku using the previous poster’s final line as your first.
In other words, the first line of the next haiku is, of course, Wanna play Yahtzee?
Interestingly, the final haiku from the original thread is quite appropriate:
Was soul searching too
And I found Haiku Madness
I knew we need more
With that in mind, let us continue with:
I knew we need more
So, Haiku Madness Part Deux?
Are you in or out?
