Haiku Madness Part Deux

Sitting in a tree
Is a large mostly-white cat
Looking at a bird.

“Looking at a bird
is better than flipping one,”
Zen master told me

Zen master told me
To get off my goddamned phone
When meditating

When meditating,
I like to empty my mind,
Which is no mean trick.

Which is no mean trick
pulling a coin from an ear.
Make change. That’s a trick.

Make change, that’s a trick
Everyone wants change, but no-
Body wants to change

Body wants to change
Not by exercise, but by
Eating lots of food.

Eating lots of food
Can be necessary when
Doing lots of work.

Doing lots of work
Makes me very hungry, and
That means a big meal

That means a big meal
Is our solution to keep
The groc’ry bill down.

The groc’ry bill down,
but cal’ry consumption up;
that’s my plan for food

That’s my plan for food:
Cook it and then make it wear
Lots of tiny hats

Lots of tiny hats
Were batted all round the house
But not worn by cats.

But not worn by cats
were the velvet capes I sewed;
too snobby, I guess

Too snobby, I guess
Waiter rolled eyes, I ordered
Untidy Josephs

Untidy Josephs
Make a mess in the stable
While Mary gives birth

While Mary gives birth,
Brian’s mom and Three Wise Men
chat just down the street.

Chat just down the street
suggests something’s going down.
Just don’t know what yet.

Just don’t know what yet
but I’m sure gonna find out;
you can bet on it!

You can bet on it
I’ll need three tries to insert
My USB plug
