The first half is said just like “palindrome”. The second half is easiest to say if you break it into “memord” and “nilap” with a short “i” sound. Since this is Haiku Madness, I should note the whole thing is seven syllables.

I never intended it to be said out loud though. Actually when I chose the name I didn’t give it much thought – My favorite user name, eggman, was taken, I thought a palindrome of palindrome was clever, and I thought my visit to get a specific question answered would be a one-time thing. When I did return some months later, the system remembered me. Shortly thereafter, I was hooked.
