If you’re going to modify user names in order to show your contempt for a poster, please take the time to make them at least minimally insulting. That was just lame.
I have to politely disagree. I’m the personal slave of 3 women who all try to reshape me into their wishes. The youngest being my daughter who learns so quickly how to do that, that her brother and me are in a state of constant panick.
But it was not my intention at all to blame “all women” on this globe for the behaviour on a message board of a clearly obsessed imbalanced nutcase that says to be female.
I can’t even imagine the effect of the combination of endive, mauve-coloured air and jazz clubs.
I would make an exception for Jazz though, on condition it is a live and good (which means having me as the violinst) performance.
I can be wrong, being not good in English and all, but in my view this thread has gone far away from the intentions behind my OP.
Maybe we should split it up (spinn-offs of a good serial or movie are often very popular).
And, as is entirely predictable, the fathers of those daughters and relatives of those Iraqi deaths occurring today are taking up arms against those who killed their loved ones. They did it when it was Hussein who was killing their loved ones and they are doing it today when it is the US troops. A man should not be expected to forgive those responsible for his daughter’s death merely because they spared his neighbors daughter instead of killing her too.
“Hero” for US soldiers is around here a honorory title I can’t question. Not its use, not its existence, not its purpose, not if yes or no they deserve it at all.
Because then comes an Administrator along to post
http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=235416&highlight=Aldebaran+jerk
You find it a “problem of Iraqis” that idiotic US military cowboys offer money to people who have no income or jobs (thanks go to Criminal Bremer) to betray their countrymen to the invaders. Which as any normal reasoning person knows that this is nothing then an open invitation to settle a few scores with an enemy.
You find it a “problem of the Iraqis” that said arrogant fools actually are so stupid to believe that this shall not lead to every form of abuse and corruption you can think of and hence take the word of every Iraqi who comes up with “information” that gets him collecting some money to feed his family? (Hail Criminal Bremer again).
And then you say “hyperbole” is my trademark? Very funny.

“Hero” for US soldiers is around here a honorory title I can’t question. Not its use, not its existence, not its purpose, not if yes or no they deserve it at all. quote]You’re sterotyping again. Besides, the way you use it isn’t a mark of honor, it’s sarcasm.
Now the willful misunderstanding. Earth to Aldebaran, I said they’re part of the problem, not they are the problem. Surely, there are ways to earn money other than ratting out their fellow countrymen to occupying forces.
The phrase is “outrageous hyperobole”, and yes, I do.
I see that Lynn’s admonishment is nearly a year old. You plan on not acting like a jerk anytime soon?
Not all of them. I work with a few Assyrians. Aparently things were copacetic with them and their neighbors of different religions until Saddam came along. They’re rather happy the US troops are over there, despite the fact that some of their relatives are being killed.
If you can’t see the difference between rfgdxm’s post and your implied volunteering to join the Iraqis in shooting US troops, perhaps you are indeed blind.
Reality check once more for the willfully blind (why am I not surprized).
“feeling” like something when reading the arrogant plots and the arrogant pondering wether the USA should invade yet an other nation in my region = threatening ME, my family, my friends, my region is not stating : Look, I joined the Iraqi resistence".
adding to this description of a feeling provoked by reading something , explaining once more why I feel it and what provoked it, is also not declaring : Look, I’m off now to Iraq to join the resistance.
I even don’t mention any “resistance”. I only mention myself and my feelings at a certain moment and that I have enough of reading these things. I don’t even say anything about “killing” someone. I don’t even mention a US soldier.
I add to this then even the following explaining comment:
If you don’t like to read the truth of this statement, then don’t read it.
Stay blind.
Stay ignorant.
Stay a stupid arrogant fool.
On the other hand: The member I quoted clearly writes to **support it that US soldiers are getting killed by Iraqis. **
Why am I not surprized that in the thread itself, he is even defended against my remark he should check out this thread.
By people who do not agree with his post, yet his post comes from a Made in USA “one of us”, one of the “Let’s all be Buddies” the group mentality “Us against Them”.
One member even said that I could eventually “report the post”, indicating that nobody else shall even think about it. I am quite sure many have “reported” my post, because Gaudere came along with her “warning” a few pages (and days?) later.
The double standards and hyporcrisy and group mentality on this message board would be extremely funny to observe if it would not be so utterly sickening.
The SDMB should not have the pretense to claim its aim is to “Fight Ignorance” and to be “International” in its set-up.
It is clear enough that the SDMB is set up and moderated as a “US and Western or Western Orientated Blog” .
This should be spelled out clearly by modifying the “Terms of agreement” as I proposed in this thread.
Why hide what is perfectly clear and playing hypocrite instead of simply being honest. Fooling yourselves ?
What the fuck is wrong with your reading comprehension? Numerous people here have told you that ‘I feel like’ and ‘I want to’ are synonomous. Don’t try to be coy and say you meant someone else besides U.S/British and (can’t forget em!) Polish soldiers. You could have said I want to go join the resistance, fight the occupation or anything in this vein. What you can not do in any circumstance is say that you want to go and shoot a board member. Guadere came in here and clarified the rules for you. They apply equally to everyone so either come back with an example of someone saying they want to shoot Iraqis or quit playing the fucking victem.
The difference that you are (deliberately?) missing is that rfgdxm is simply supporting the Iraqi defense where you exhibited interest in actively joining them. You feel like pulling a trigger against invading criminals (Aldebaran-speak for American forces), rfgdxm never said any such thing.
kidchameleon, i know Alderbaran’s posting style can be confusing sometimes, but I believe he is referring to himself, the post he made and the fact he was warned.
No, he quoted rfgdxm in post 389(I think, preview doesn’t show the #s any more), including amongst other bits “I do support Iraqi insurgents killing US troops”.
Kid, try to read posts before posting comments on them.
Also: Try very hard to grow up before you make stupid threads calling out adults on the words they use:
No matter if you reveal yourself there once again as being a silly little clown, you were not joking like the Moderator choosed to take it. You were deadly serious and seriouly thought to have a good point against that Middle Eastern Intruder in this Nice All Western or Western Orientated SDMB Blog.
Hence, since this board pretends to “fight ignorance” and since it wants to pretend - not capable of even coming across as being serious about that intention - to be “international” , I suggest you leanr a few other languages.
This shall not only develop your (now clearly under-performing) brain cells. You shall also discover - to your great distress - that “dog” is used as an insult in many many many of them.
Yes, that is: many.
As in: much.
Also:
My dogs (more then 30 at the moment, pups of the race I breed as one of my hobbys included), don’t care a bit that I call you now a son of a dog. Oh well, to stay correct: A puppy of a dog.
Yes, it is an insult to them to call you or others a dog, but they don’t now that I do this. I don’t tell them about it.
Salaam. A
