{{{doggio}}} So sorry. Nelly led a long and much loved life thanks to you.
Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and chillin’. Dindin shall be courtesy of Papa John’s cause it’s just too hawt to cook. OYKW is bringin’ it. YAY!
Thanks everybody. I’m having her cremated. I’ll spread her ashes in the creek this October, so she can finally fulfill her dream of migrating to the sea.
Hope everyone had a safe and sane 4th.
Our new neighbors seem to have imported their entertainment from Kanahar or Bagdad. They shot off artillery blasts until 1 AM that shook our house. Hubby was out saving lives and alleviating suffering as well as putting wet stuff on the red stuff, so the kitties and I had to endure the barrage alone. The whole neighborhood smelled like cordite all night.
Today was my second day of water aerobics. I’m enjoying it, except for the jellied muscles afterward. I’m working on a diet too. I had broiled trout and brocchli for lunch… I’m still hungry.
Back from running about. I went to pick up the yarn - she vastly overestimated. “Two grocery bags” was actually 4 skeins. But it’s the kind I use for baby afghans, so that’s good.
After picking it up, we went to Salsa’s for supper. Shortly, I will boil some water so I can peel the 'maters. I found a recipe for tomato sauce in a crockpot that sounds really good. I’ll dump everything into the crock tonight and turn it on before I leave tomorrow. Yum!
And maybe I’ll knit some more later. Or not. We’ll see.
Pizza consumed. YUM! Bear has happy tummy.
Seriously. I told Culinary Boy that now I understand how everyone else felt whenever Peter was around me. Everyone else was just “random human” but I was His Person. He came running to the front door when I came home from work/school. I miss that cat.

Was she trying to head to the beach when she ran off for a few months?
I’m going to cheat and repost the first part of my (friendslocked for the second part) LJ post for today:
I got off work two hours early and spent the afternoon driving to and from Columbia. For the record: South Carolina drivers are ASS-HOLES. The speed limit is only there for decoration and God forbid you have to make a left turn when the person behind you wants to go straight.
The reason I went to Columbia? Turns out it’s not the heat, it is the humidity. Culinary Boy was near collapse and realized that working in a Ziploc is not good for his health. He’s going to register for fall semester at AB Tech tomorrow. That was a condition of me coming to get him.
This only furthers my prejudice that Nothing Good Comes From Sou’ Car’lina.
Thanks to help from my sweetie, I’ve got my first ever batch of home-grown, homemade 'mater sauce standing by to be slo-cooked. When I bought my 'mater plants, I wanted a couple of Roma plants. What I got look like miniature Roma tomatoes - and a pain in the patoot to make into sauce. Better luck next year. Meanwhile, we’ll see how this batch goes.
I need a shower. And a good sleep. And a weekend. Is that too much to ask?? C’mon retirement!
doggio, I’m so sorry. They leave a big hole in the heart, don’t they.
Apparently, my Siberian Husky killed a big possom last night. I had no idea that hubby had left him out all night. When I let him in this morning, I didn’t even see the big, nearly torn in half 'possum lying in my yard. Hubby found it, took a picture with his cell phone and sent it to me.
Polar doesn’t have a scratch on him either. Believe me, I looked because those creatures are mean little bastards.
It definitely was loud and bright around my neighborhood last night. Poor Brandi was so freaked out. My driveway is littered with firework debris and none of it is ours. We opted to NOT spend our hard earned money on any of that. It kind of pisses me off that I have to clean up after our neighbors, but on the other hand, I guess I can understand their reluctance to come up onto my property and clean up…I guess.
Work was awful. I am so down in the dumps about that shithole it’s unbelievable. Yes, I’m still trying to get out; but there’s nothing out there.
He’s a keeper, that hubby of yours!
Went to the fondue place for my friend’s birthday. Neat but expensive.
Spaz, she migrated East every October. Dunno why.

Just woke up from a 2-hour nap. Time for bed, I think. ::yawn::
I’m so sorry, db. It’s always sad when our babies leave us.
I didn’t get to take my aminals to the park today, because we had a stopped up sewer line and I had to prevent water from overflowing - until Mr Rebo could get back home with a snake. The line is all clear now, and laundry has been completed. And dinner has been cooked and dishes done. I even made some semi-homemade peanut butter cookies (Pillsbury helped!)
Back to work tomorrow. Blech.
Sorry, doggio. Hugs.
Your hubby is just the thoughtfullest, Taters.
Sauce sounds yummy, FCM. Let us know how it turns out.
Went for another bat and firefly walk. Cicadas have come out, too, so it’s getting pretty loud out, too, sometimes.
Gotta get to bed.
Hugs.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 98. No rain still. It just won’t happen here I guess. We need the too much rain other parts of the nation keep gettin’. :dubious:
Taters you are so lucky to have a man like Mr. Taters who wants to share the wonders of nature with you.
Sorry things didn’t work out for culinary boy Spaz. Here’s hoping tech school works out for him.
Ick Rebo!
Time to seek out more caffiene and some brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
Blurf. Brekkification mostly done.
Amazingly, my thighs are not complaining today. Therefore I must go abuse them again.
Stoopid ears WILL NOT POP!
Ack! I hate that, Soapy!
Back to work. Blurf.
Howdy Y’all! **N.O.L.**time post just cause I can. Irk has been not bad so far. Rah.
Now I shall go snoop around a bit.
Later Y’all!
At irk. Co-irker lost her cell phone somewhere in the hospital on our cart run. Oops.
Now, all my work for the day is done, and I get off at 4 PM (God’s time, the Central Time Zone). What to do for half my day? There are two people in the day time and two people at night every day to run this shift. We don’t actually start until we’ve been here for 30 minutes, we work from 0800-0810, break til 0900 (waiting on computer), work for another 10 minutes, break from 0910-1000, deliver carts (takes about 1.5 hours), then are literally done for the day.
I’d wager that this job takes a grand total of 3 hours of actual work, on the busiest day imaginable. I’m so jealous that I’m only filling in for the pregnant girl.
