Riiiiiiiiiight…
So anyway, everybody, just go ahead and try that Oatmeal Cookie Chunk ice cream, m’kay?
Thaaaaaanks.
I took my kids to the mall today (no school - again). We stopped at Ben and Jerry’s for a treat. I saw Oatmeal Cookie Chunk on the menu, remembered this thread and decided to give it a try.
OH MY GOD. That has got to be one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had in my life.
Now I just have to find it in one of the local grocery stores.
YAY!!!
See!!! What’d I tell ya!!!
I haven’t had the oatmeal chocolate chunk, which just sounds divine, but other than that the best flavor is Festivus. Close runner ups are Phish Food and Chunky Monkey.
I didn’t see Festivus this holiday season and about flipped. I wait all year for that one and I guess the stores decided not to carry it.
I am in your debt, Lola. Man, that was good stuff.
I shall run by the store tomorrow and see if they have it.
I’m still stuck on Honey, I’m Home. Honey Vanilla ice cream with fudge covered honeycomb candy nuggets. I seem to recall some kind of honey swirl, as well.
The honey vanilla as a flavor by itself has been discontinued, and I understand the honeycomb candy covered in chockey is quite popular as a bar in England.
I long for the old Cherry Garcia. The world was so much better when the fat old groovey man was still alive. If only for the Ice cream.

B&J was bought by Unilever Bestfoods UK, which also owns Hellman’s, Birdseye, Coleman’s Mustard, Knorr, MARMITE, and Vaseline, to name just a few.
MARMITE! Yum!..Kinda…not really
What kind of hellish concocotion could they make with that ? Chocolate malt- mustard icecream, with a Marmite swirl
Checked the supermarket yesterday, no sign of Oatmeal Cookie Chunk. I don’t think much of the range makes it over here. There seem to be the same flavours in all the stores (Phish Food/From Russia with Buzz/One Sweet Whirled/Hi Honey I’m Home). I’ll keep checking, though.
Liberal, pretty much without exception, leaning towards the Green side of the liberal spectrum. And from a quickie survey, mostly pouring their money into lobbying groups. (In other words, they’re not building job rehab centers, they’re paying lobbyists to try to get US to pay for job rehab centers.)
See here for a listing of all the stuff they’ve funded.
You’ll see that they pour a ton of money into lobbying groups who don’t actually do anything. Lots of phrases like “grassroots level to engage in direct action campaigns designed to bring about longterm, systemic change.” (aka Lobbying), or “grassroots environmental activists with free corporate research and strategic assistance” (aka helping lobbyists). Which is fine, they have every right to do this, but I refuse to support it.
Especially not for gunky, slightly grainy ice-cream (albiet with good stuff in it)
Fenris
bolding mine…
Martin, these are called Crunchie. They’re fabulous! You can also get Crunchie nuggets - bite sized pieces - which are okay, but the bar is better.
Don’t we Yanks have the same thing marketed as Violet Crumble?
The “grassroots” stuff really seems a lot like astroturf. Now if only someone would make an annoying commercial like “This is the pint that raisinbread bought that paid the lobbyist who got the murderer off death row so he could kill more people”
