I had to get something off my chest, and looking at the rules, it appears this is the place to do it.
Four days ago, a user called Esco posted a thread in the “In My Humble Opinion” section, wherein he revealed he was in a relationship with a successful young businesswoman in her 20s, but who had a serious coke habit. He asked whether he should stay with the woman, or leave her. An overwhelming majority of Dopers who posted on the thread, over 90% by my count, urged him to get out of the relationship as there was a serious chance she would escalate her addiction and start stealing his hard-earned money to continue her cocaine habit. However, he repeatedly and stubbornly refused to listen, at one point just laughing off a user who asked whether he had seen any money missing, as if it was a laughing matter.
So, I decided to pitch in a dose of bluntness:
I also cited real-life documentaries in another post, as evidence for my claim. Nevertheless, another user, Helena330, evidently did not take kindly to my strong advice despite its obvious necessity, and said the following:
Ah, “thinking with his dick”, but I’m not thinking at all? That was a classic page from the radical, anti-male feminist playbook. No woman I’ve ever met gratuitously said another man is “thinking with his dick”. I have heard lines like that from radical feminists, and other extremists.
Helena330, you should be ashamed of yourself, honestly. I was trying to help the dude get rid of this crackwhore who’s very clearly on track to start taking his money, and I said it in very blunt, forceful terms since the more gentle posts of other users clearly wasn’t working, and you excoriate me for it? I bet you think that men, not women, should take the last names of their spouses when they marry.
Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you, Helena? Daddy didn’t give you enough love or something? Sheesh.
