Heard an intermittent noise this morning; couldn’t figure out what it was. Finally realized that it was the blinds hitting the window/frame in the breeze. Haven’t heard that sound yet this year. red; I thought about mailing them to you, but given how they are individually identifiable/numbered, I didn’t want my source to get in trouble. Sorry.
It’s bright & (Not Our) Sunny(Daze) outside. Sari, I really want you to write my resume, but you’re right, prolly not a good idea.
Whew. Assignments submitted (submat?). I’m giving myself a few days off, then I’ll get on with the next, which is the final one of the year, and shouldn’t be too bad. Then I shall stop whining at you all about deadlines for a while, and begin to panic about exams instead
I just realised I only have one month left until the last exam and the end of this skool year. That went by a bit fast!
High noon in North Ali-bama here. Did manage to feed myself, put away the dishes from the washer, and make a new pitcher of Cherry Kool-Aid, but that has been about the sum of my activities so far.
ruble, I’m guessing the activities have something to do with (1) Family (2) Rollercoasters or (3) Cannon Fire. Someday you’ll find a way to combine all three, which I believe is one of the signs of the Apocalypse.
FCM, praying for a bulldozer?
Sari, I have a friend with Pitties, he’d be appalled that people with such poorly-trained dogs would bring them to a dog park. Hope the police set them straight.
Plumber showed up early, and didn’t call first.
So far he has broken two (120 foot) snakes trying to clear the drain.
We now know it is somewhere in the neighbor’s front yard. He was going to try to go in the other way through the clean out but the snake broke off in the pipe and he can’t get it out.
So the neighbor’s yard needs to be dug up.
Earliest that can be done is tomorrow, and will be much money.
I was hoping to wash clothes today. Too bad there isn’t a way to attach a hose to the output and run it out the window.
Will the landlord pay for neighbor’s yard to be dug up?
The person who pissed me off yesterday is back at it. He doesn’t think my library of over 700 electronic journals, books, and databases is sufficient for his information needs. He’s an internal medicine doctor in the suburbs of Chicago. How many difficult cases can he see? Answer. NONE. I finally told him “apparently my library can’t supply you with what you want. I suggest you get a faculty appointment with BIG DOWNTOWN MEDICAL SCHOOL so you can use their library.” Fuck him.
At 10:47 this morning I get a text from #2GrandSon; “Can you pick me up (from school) at 11:00 so I can go home and eat?” Being a ‘man of leisure’[sup]TM[/sup]*, I was lounging about in my sweats, not having exercised or showered yet this morning, but I threw on some clothes and went and got him. I am thinking I should go out in the garage and make some sawdust so as to make my eventual shower worthwhile. Other than that, some vacuuming and possibly mopping shall take up the rest of my day.
BBQed chicken butts and asper-grass for dinner tonight. I should check that I have propane.
If you think it’s hard getting hired when you’re an old man with a messed up back, try being an old man with a messed up back, and a pacemaker in your chest.
Howdy Y’all! Been a bzzy bear today. Did yahd irk, laid in provisions, took care of a couple things over to the church house, includin’ haulin’ the biiiiiiiiiig trash cans down to where they go for pickup tomorrow. Also, sup made, et, and kitchen cleanded up. Now for chill.
In the theme of dirt, I will plant Mrs. Plant’s (v.3.0) Peruvian lilies this weekend. There are a dozen seedlings. I plan to use nursery cloth or whatever the neck it is called to keep the weeds away.
a) We’ve already combined all three; it was off-season and sounded like a good idea at the time. The park in question is now defunct although that was totally unrelated to our activities.
Honest.
b) Bulldozer? DIGGERLAND!!!
And to Sahirrnee and other possible Marylanders and Virginians ------- your packages will not say something like MTN5.
Don’t ask; someone pushed the wrong button and for about 9k packages we were them. :smack:
Soccer practice went well, but probably just as good I never had kids, they can drive you nuts. Came home and made Cheeseburgers and am good until tomorrow. Ran out of bread and need to make a quick shopping run in the Ay-em
I wonder if the sky is pink with purple polka-dots.
I wonder if the sun will rise in the west.
I wonder if the Pope is Buddhist.
I wonder if Hell is cold.
:o
Up, sheveled, off to do an engagement flight…of a couple who’s already engaged. :smack:
One mention, in case any of you folks are near enough to NE Kansas, next weekend will be the absolutely free Godzilla and Friends film festival here in Topeka. If you all are fans of the old kaiju, this is for you! I can provide details, and even a place to flop out if you need to save money.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and cloudy (well, dark) with a predicted high of 82 and cloudy for the day. Rain is allegedly movin’ in tonight and may or may not stay with us all day tomorrow. TWPTB are bein’ willy-nilly about this. The big plan of the day is to go over to the church house and do some mowin’ of the front forty this mornin’. I would not do this usually and it’s not even my team’s mow weekend, but with the possibility of rain tomorrow that means the team that’s up wouldn’t be able to get a Firday evenin’ head start. So a couple of us retired ol’ farts said we’d mow the front forty today. We’re nice like that. Sup will be my version of Philly cheesesteaks usin’ the leftover pot roast along with oven fries.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I shall somewhat purtify (grass don’t care what one looks like) and head on over to begin mowage.
Short day for me today. I’m leaving around 11:30 in the hopes of getting a few hours of work done at home before the rain sets in. There’s a big pile of topsoil dumped in front of the new building and soon it will be my garden.
I have some pavers that I plan to put on end against the building foundation so the dirt isn’t directly against the pressure-treated skirt board. Then I’ll start moving the dirt around. If all goes well, tomorrow I can buy the blocks to edge the garden bed and I can put them in on Saturday. At least that’s the plan. We shall see how it all goes.
Meanwhile, I’ve got crap on my desk that needs to be dealt with. Happy Thursday!!
