I just read through this thread (well, most of it anyway), and when winneee announced that she was going to tell us the reunion story, I was expecting something like this:
“He told me that before he met me, he’d been trapped in an elevator with Tony Robbins, and Tony Robbins had hypnotized him without his knowledge. He found out about it when his best friend, Mauricio, said the magic words that took the trance away. Then, he was too scared to see what I really looked like, so he kept making up excuses to avoid me. As it turns out, he was just trying to find Tony Robbins so he could get re-hypnotized again, but I thought for sure he was dumping me.”
… but then again, maybe I’ve been watching Shallow Hal a bit too often.

Like the subject says - the man is an idiot. Period. Haven’t even read your post yet, for which I apologize, but my logic is this: Dopers are cool. You are a Doper. Therefor, you are cool. Cool people are desireable as significant others. Therefor, your boyfriend has acted idiotically. And you cannot in any way be responsible for the actions of an idiot.
