Girls led the game 1-0 for 3 quarters, then ran out of steam and lost 1-2. We’ll still finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd depending on how the other teams finish (the other 4 of the five teams play there last game in about 90 minutes). I consider it a success.
Now need to dress and go referee for U10 Girls and hope it’s not an overtime game (every year at tournament time it seems I end up refereeing an overtime game…).
doggio, we knew we were going to lose Mr. Trebek, sad news still.
OK, been goofing off to long, need to get moving to the ref job.
Another pretty day, although chilly at the dog park this morning.
We moved over to the small dog side this morning since the dogs seem hellbent on destroying the orange fence. A park irker with an attitude told us we had to move to the big dog side, even though the person with a small dog was okay with switching sides.
Been a busy day, with many annoyances.
I have things I need to do for irk, and technology is not co-operating.
It’s probably something I’m doing wrong, although what I am doing has always irked before.
I have a list of 27 things I need to do tomorrow, although most of them can be done over the phone, by email, or online. I am dreading the ones that involve phone calls.
Got the usual Sunday chores done, finished laundering the towels that should have been done yesterday, scrubbed the bathtub, cleaned up the outdoor plants and put them on the patio, raked the leaves in my little corner (the lawn guys will likely use the leafblower in a couple of more weeks) and swept the walkways.
I tried a new (to me) idea out for supper tonight: southwest omelet stuffed peppers. They were yum, but the recipe made way to much filling. The next time, I’ll either double the number of peppers or halve the filling. I ended up just baking the extra in a pyrex dish for evening snacks this week.
I dusted, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, changed the litter in Alex’s box, cleaned up after Bulimic Supermodel Catt hornked on the carpet, cleaned all the pet bowls, and took out the recycling and trash. Having an Old Fashioned to wind down the day.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, N.O.L.ed, napped, made and et sup. The biiiiiiiiiig trash can got hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. How do we keep up such a rigorous pace!
It was an overtime game. Tied 2-2, then no goals in the 10 minutes overtime, so we went to penalty kicks. 5 shooters for each team, after they had all kicked it was 2-2 on the kicks. So we went to ‘sudden death’ and it took 4 more rounds before one team scored and the other didn’t. How much drama can 8-9 year old girls (and their parents) stand? How much can their ref take? Anyway, the game is done (and I gave myself a A- on the ref job) and still made it back to the other site where I found we had finished third by the skin of our teeth (tied for second but lost the second tie-breaker).
Have gone out to eat (Meatloaf dinner at Metro Diner) and now plan to do as little as possible before facing life without youth soccer for awhile.
Sari, loved the video with the dogs. Ripple doesn’t seem to interested in the goings-on.
All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
Two loads of laundry got done, littler boxes got changed, cats got fed, I got fed, dishwasher is doing its thing and I’m ready to kick back and zone in front of the TV. Furnace is still on the blink, so it’s cooooold in here. Still raining, which means the snow level will be down to “Holy crap that’s close!” by morning.
Stay warm everybody, and I’ll catch you tomorrow morning.
BBBoo - scroll up about 7 posts. At the end of sari’s post it says Dog park video. That’s there link.
Daughter told me Roxy had had a fever of 102 so she’ll work from home tomorrow. She asked me to come down and watch the kid so she could run back to school for her computer. While I was there, Roxy was sliding around the floor and climbing all over the couch and generally acting like a toddler and her temp was down to 97.9 by the time I left. Daughter will call the doc in the morning, but we’re pretty sure it’s not the plague.
Thank you! Can’t believe I missed that. I remember reading about the list of 27 things to do tomorrow and my heart clutched, that would take me two weeks I thought. I must have been so rattled I rolled right past the doggie beauties.
The dog park romping was adorable. They look so gleeful.
