Here comes lockdown again, but not in the MMP!

Having a celebratory martini. Italian Chicken is marinating in the fridge, and I got my laundry done. Life is good. Alex has spent the afternoon licking Gordie’s feet. At some point he may snap and eat her skull.

Well I work for UPS, not Jungle(I handle enough Prime boxes to make it confusing, though). Maybe he’s looking at your apartment number upside down?

Evening all. Soccer started with me leaving the house about 7:15am and ended when I returned at 4:40pm. In between there were four games coached, one long trek from parking lot to food truck, and a team farewell party/player’s birthday.

Y’all might say I’m a bit tired…

Games were interesting, the U10 boys lost their first one 0-5 and didn’t play well, but redeemed themselves by winning their final match 2-0. The U12 girls did even better, beating a team that had whipped them 9-1 during the season 3-2, and tying a team 0-0 that had beaten them 8-1 and 5-0. So we done good. If we can win tomorrow, even after a 1-5-1 regular season, we just might be tournament champions!

So damn proud of them…

SO got home and spent 90 minutes catching up on the news (I have heard we elected a new President) and fixing sammiches. Have read all but not absorbed much (did Roxy get to see the Panda’s, FCM?). One more game to coach at Noon tomorrow and maybe a couple of referee jobs and Fall soccer will be done…to be replaced in about 5 weeks with indoor soccer…

All y’all take care.

MetalMouse - the panda exhibit is closed. Dammit. They’re doing a lot of work in the Asian area. Plus none of the indoor exhibits were open. But we still had 3 nice hours.

I’m betting they’re pretty happy with their coach too.

Sorry, thought you worked at the Jungle. The upside-down theory wouldn’t explain the time a package for 152 wound up at 251, though. Thankfully, she was really nice (and I got to coo at an adorable baby when she brought my package to me), and even joked about it with me when we crossed paths again a few weeks later.

Kind of makes you want to order something every few days, doesn’t it?

Good luck tomorrow!

(Just reading about you chasing kids around on a soccer pitch all day wears me out)

Obigatory dunem prost. :beers:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 81, possibly mostly cloudy with maybe rain. Or not. I think TWPTB are just phonin’ it in these days. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization, we are goin’ to the nine a.m. service, and then back to da cave. We shall nosh upon sammiches for N.O.L. and sup shall be steak, company smashed N.O.T., bacon wrapped spareguts, sallit, and rolls. I think I shall make some brownies as well.

MetalMouse sounds like quite a day yestiddy! Have fun coachin’/refereein’ today.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Slept till 4 - I guess that’s something.

It’s supposed to be another pretty day, so my plans are mostly outside. I’ll start by driving the leaf sucker around the front yard and maybe clear the ditch. Then I have a metric buttload of bulbs to plant. I’m hoping between today and tomorrow, I can get them all in the ground. It all depends on how my back takes all the bending over and digging and such.

Still waiting for the inlaws to decide about turkey day. I try to be patient, but it’s starting to get to panic buying time…

Happy Sunday!!

Update: I have been informed that one (1) outing to leave his apartment has been planned: a picnic! (The weather in Dallas is still quite warm these days.)

Flight leaves in 6 hours. Still need to purtify - and extra time & effort will be taken! - and apparently pack one or two items of clothing.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. The plan is spiffing the apartment and watching handegg.

Enjoy the trip, shoe!

So you’re serving TP and ammo for Thanksgiving?

Morning all. Slept until 7am, soccer doesn’t start until noontime (this is still a pretty religious area, used to be no soccer at all on Sundays) so I’ll grab a bite to eat and start getting ready in a couple of hours. Then referee at 3:30pm so I should finish about 5pm.

Have a good time, shoe

Glad you survived the conference, swampy; those agendas can be vicious…

All y’all have a good Sunday.

Got plenty of TP - especially after getting some on sale today. No need for ammo, with my killer good looks!

I do need to get a couple of turkeys, tho, and I haven’t seen any in stores yet. Food lion had frozen turkey breasts, but I really need whole birds. So we shall see…

60 and partly cloudy (weather.gov says “fair”), with a predicted high of 69 and a low tonight of 45. Woke up round an hour ago to the news that the house had been shaking earlier; seems there was a 4.2 earthquake over near New Bedford MA…

Eating breakfast now (a chicken chimichanga) and will follow up with coffee. No other plans for the day, though we might take a trip to BJ’s and Walmart.

Dammit, discobot – if I wanted a link up there I would have told you to include one!

Have a good trip shoe!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and a load of towels ready for the dryer. The usual Sunday chores are on the agenda, along with readying the plants on the patio for winter. In a couple of minutes though, I’ll heathenate virtually.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

It being Sunday there will be no laving or shaving. Had the morning cocoa, so it’s off on a specialized grocery run then a joyous day of laundry and general maintenance. Rain overnight, with more predicted for this afternoon. We really needed it, so the damp and chill are tolerable. Cats are all curled up in the window watching the LBBs feed on the seed I put out. Actually had to pour half a bottle of decent red wine down the drain because the celebration is over and I’m back on alcohol restriction until New Years.

Enjoy the Sunday, people. Y’all are what keeps me going sometimes and you need the day off!

We made a grocery run, then came home and mulched and vac’d a bunch of leaves out front and along the ditches. I almost lost a wheel from the mulcher/vac - the retaining ring failed. It’s parked outside FCD’s shop till he gets a new retaining ring, and I finished along the side yard by just mulching the leaves, with many of them blowing into the street. Naughty me…

I just had some leftover pizza for lunch. Now I’m trying to decide if I really want to plant bulbs. Maybe I’ll do one batch.

Evening, mumpers! I was very pleased to hear yesterday that you’d finally finished counting the beans and come up with the right result

My weekend has been pretty good. We went into town yesterday and had a mostly successful trip - successful in that we came back with the items we’d gone out for, not necessarily from the places we’d intended to get them from. Lockdown 2.0 is not the same as the first one, places that were shut before are open this time, and some that we thought might be open were not. We are fully stocked with cat treats so there should not be any complaints there.

I also started the dreaded hexmas shopping, naturally it’s all being done online from independent retailers this time, I am aiming to use Da Jungle’s site purely for the creation and maintenance of my wishlist, I’m not expecting to put anything on there that Da Jungle actually sells. I have a spreadsheet of people I am buying gifts for, what they’re getting, where from and when it was ordered. That way I can keep track of stuff. When it arrives, it gets marked off on the list and hidden away for wrapping up later.

Films have been watched, I concocted a creamy chickeny pasta thing for dinner last night (with leftovers for the freezer) and it’s not my turn to cook tonight. So aside from adding just over 2K to this year’s NaNo project, I have largely slothed. Yes, it’s a word, I said so. Now going to have a nice soaky bath and then decamp to the sofa for more slothage. Must feed the mogs on the way to the sofa, and make a cuppa.

Have a good trip, shoe!
