Holy cow metal mouse! You gotta be more careful. We don’t want to lose another Mumper.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Holy, crap MetalMouse. Be careful.
OK, **MetalMouse **- it’s time for A Talk. You are An Adult. You need to set An Example for The Children. Stay hydrated, wear sunblock, and don’t sign up for too much in one day! Dammit!
OK, I overdid it a bit yesterday, but not to that extreme. Today I’ll run the mower in the worst part of the ditch, and I need to iron a few shirts for FCD. But mostly, it’ll be a chill day. I’m a bit of a hurtin’ puppy after the last 2 days of manual labor.
Today’s the auto and motorcycle show in Leonardtown. **FCD **wanted to take his bike there, but he hasn’t gotten around to fixing the electrical problem, so we’re just going as spectators. Early, I hope. I don’t want to be strolling the square in the heat of the afteroon.
Meanwhile, he’s still snoozing and I wish I’d stayed in bed. But I’m up.
Happy Sunday!
Metalmouse What Mooommmm said.
I think Louie is feeling better today. He took a walk and did his business although I did carry him down the stairs. I have a bad knee and going down stairs hurts me the worst.
I have the last of the beet harvest cooking. Takes well over an hour to cook and about half that to clean them in prep for cooking. I love beets. I have the best neighbors who keep me in fresh produce all season. Of course, hubby keeps their A/C running in exchange. I think we get the better end of that barter.
Today shall be dog bath day and more cleaning and cooking. We had copious amounts of rain overnight and tis still cloudy. I hope it rains more.
Happy Sunday all.
OK all, I’ll behave (and yesterday was unusual, I usually don’t stretch myself that much). Only have a 2-hour stretch scheduled for today outside. Don’t think it was heat exhaustion (none of the common symptoms and I did drink plenty of fluids), just plain old ‘did too much’ -ism.
Feeling stiff and sore but fine otherwise. Much thanks for all the concern.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, and purtified so no YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 88 and cloudy for the day. Rain is supposed to start tonight and through tomorrow morning’ accordin’ to TWPTB.
Mom’s funeral is at three this afternoon. Although this will be a sad day I am at peace because I know mom is at peace. Plus I have family and lovin’ friends near and far to comfort which means everything right now. OYKW, JDD, and Partner are on their way up for the funeral as well as a couple members of my church. This means more to me than I could put into words. Since they are travelin’ so far, I told ‘em to get here in time for N.O.L. Mom’s church is feedin’ us and I think people travelin’ that far deserve at least a good meal. OYKW is bringin’ my trusty rain jacket which I will need in the mornin’.
Butters glad HRH Lucky Louie is feelin’ better today.
Everyone else, yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, how you doin’s all around as needed.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Swampy we are there in spirit. I know from experience how hard this is for you. I am glad you have many friends and family around you now. {{{{{Swampy**}}}}}******
{{{swampy}}} - you know if your childhood home wasn’t so doggone far from all of us, we’d be there. So, like **Butters **says, we’re there in spirit.
Just finished mowing the ditch, and shortly, I’ll go out and finish the one dreaded section of hill. Then I quit. After I shower. I’m dripping sweat at the moment.
{{{swampy}}} I’m with you in thought brother.
Glad you’re feeling better metal mouse. Just take it easier today, okay?
Yay on Louie feeling better too!
I’m fixing to take a shower and take a ride. On the home front, all of my 'mater plants now have itty bitty green 'maters on them now. I’ll harvest tonight’s salad from the lettuce and gather some of the herbs to season the poke roast and roast veggies.
{{{Swampy}}} Like everyone else, I’m there in spirit. I’m glad you have such a wonderful clan to celebrate your mother’s life with today.
MetalMouse Does too sound like heat exhaustion, which I’ve had, so I’m speaking from experience. Please be careful.
Butters Have you tried Glucosamine/MSM tabs for Louie? They help my big guys and their arthritis a lot. I can send you details on the brand if you want.
The fire alarm went off in our house at 3:50. Shrill beep, with the added entertainment of a voice yelling “fire, fire, fire”, which I guess the newer models do now - just in case you’re missed the shrieking. I’m up, checking the house, and it stopped. :dubious: Don’t know what happened. Loose spider?
Today errands shall be run, and laundry shall be done. Oh the joy that shall be mine.
It’s 45 degrees and has been raining for almost 24 hours. I had a migraine from it yesterday and stayed in bed 11 hours. Hanging at home today, cooking, and feeling guilty about not going to the barn.
We walked around the car show in Leonardtown, but it was HOT HOT HOT and the show was quite a bit bigger than in the past. We might have seen half of it. But **FCD **had enough of the heat and walking. He’s napping and I’m about to assume the position on the recliner with some Netflix.
sunny yes he takes a glucosamine product. He has luxating patellas with the left one being visibly in and out. I’m sure he has arthritis too. If I knew for sure he will be around I would have the surgery done at least on the one but with that pesky cancer scare almost two years ago i just don’t know. It is not a minor surgery… You know how when dogs finish their business they do that backwards scratching thing? He still does that sometimes so it can’t be too painful all the time. When i was petting him earlier around his ears he yelped so I have dosed his ears with antibiotics. I think we have a combination of things going on. We shall try to see the vet tomorrow or at least get an appt.
Butters I hear ya on the surgery. We did knee surgery on one of our dogs a while back. She was only a year old when she popped her ACL in both hind legs. She lived until 9, so in the end it was worth it. It’s hard when they’re older though and you can’t tell if it’s really bothering them or not.
Another thought - talk to your vet about Rimadyl or another painkiller. My huge guy is on that to manage any bleed through arthritis pain. It might make him more comfortable. Yes, I am a nag about animals. Y’all are very nice to put up with me.
The sun was out briefly today, so I wore my fancy-schmancy tinted contacts to go out and about. They worked well, particularly in combination with sunglasses, but I’m noticing blurred vision now. Not sure if they scratched my cornea or what is going on. I guess I’ll call my eye doctor if this doesn’t clear up by tomorrow. Very strange. I’ve never had this with contacts before.
He has a new bottle of Meloxicam/Metacam but I think it’s at irk. Or I can’t find it. Pets. Gotta love them.
Howdy Y’all! Mom’s funeral service was very nice. Her Pastor did an excellent job talkin’ about her. The chapel at the funeral home was packed. Now to get through the committal tomorrow mornin’. From the looks of the weather radar right now, we can expect it to be rainy and stormy. ICK! Glad OYKW brought my rain jacket.
N.O.L. at the church was some fine church lady cookin’! Just gotta love those church ladies.
Happy Sunday!
It was a pretty day, now it looks like it is going to storm any minute.
{{{Swampy}}} I’m glad you are at peace.
Sari how is Sahdog Aka Mackie?
Survived work. Making mesquite poke chops, with ancho sweet **N.O.T.**s and roasted squash, tomatoes, and onions with chili lime seasoning.
swampy, I would have been there if i could have. {{{{hugs}}}} to you and your family
Glad Lucky Louie is feeling better, Butters.
WetOne, don’t feel guilty. You made the right call.
I have spent the afternoon “negotiating” with 'Beamer about school. He’s been refusing to do his work, particularly his math. I told him today that we could do things the easy way (he earns prizes for getting good grades) or the hard way (no electronics at all). I then turned off the Internet so he could think things over. He’s gone from “NEVER” to “how about 1 page” to “what if you gave me all my prizes up front” to “how about half up front”. I’m expecting that we’ll get to him doing his work.
Glad it was a nice service Swampy. Sorry I couldn’t be there in person.
