Having heard of a college isn’t the point - your sublime ignorance in thinking that so few people have heard of it that you have to explain it is the point.
As a rule of thumb, if you feel you are getting ganged up on in another forum, taking it to the pit is not a very bright idea. Those who disagreed with you before will be more unrestrained with their feelings, and you will gather a wider audience who are more likely to agree with them than with you.
