A cleaner administration, I like that. ‘Scrubby’ Jabonera has my vote as well.
Eh, my soap dish always ends up with a thick layer of gross scum at the bottom.
But then, Trump’s layer of gross scum is right at the top, so…
Yes, let’s just ignore everything else that happened in the election and focus entirely on the candidate.
And not be surprised when it happens again.
Hillary is a good person who ran for president for the right reasons (to improve the lives of Americans) and all thing being equal would make an excellent president. But all things are not equal. A substantial plank of the Republican platform for the last 25 years has been devoted to portraying Hillary as evil incarnate. Such that even if they realized that compromising with her was in the best interest of their constituents and the nation as a whole, they could not do so for political reasons. So with some 40% of the country brain washed into believing that she is the anti-Christ, her ability to lead would be hamstrung.
All of this is completely moot however since as JohnT pointed out there is exactly zero probability that she could win the primary. The only people who ever bring her name up as a possible candidate for 2020 are Republicans who realize that Hillary hatred is the only thing they know how to run on, and are desperate for something to distract from the utter carnage of the Trump administration.
Absolutely not. She’s had two tries at it and failed both times. She had the highest negatives of any Dem to have actually won the party’s presidential nominee since modern polling began, and she lost to Donald Trump, for chrissakes, when hardly anyone thought that was even possible. Her political career is over.
Hillary can freeze the field and raise money quickly. If she entered the race, she’s top 3 out of the gate, and would prevent the younger candidates from getting the spotlight.
Who the heck do you think is going to donate anything at all to her?
No.I want to see some younger blood in there. I favor Gov. Dayton of Minnesota.
If Hillary had lost to anyone else in 2016 (a generic Republican,) then the answer should be no. But this time, people like Bernie and Warren would help shield Hillary from the “She’s too old” argument (and also Trump himself being older than Hillary,) and also Hillary beating Trump would go down as the No. 1 Redemption Story in U.S. politics of all time.
She only lost last time because of a perfect storm of things all happening together at the same time. Michigan doesn’t lose to Appalachian State twice.
That thing with the popular vote is a very American mess, at least as seen from the other side of the Atlantic, but the thing is the rules were clear from the beginning. It is like tennis vs. soccer: you can win a tennis match scoring less points that your adversary and nobody would claim this to be unfair. This is not possible with soccer, where you can only win if you really do score more goals than your rival. When electing your president it is high time you learn what game you are playing, what the rules are and please choose the right president next time, will you?
We’ll do our best.
The idea is that the states choose the President, not the people.
Thanks a lot in advance, I wish you better luck next time.
Yes, if the Democrats are dumb enough to put Hillary as the candidate again, I’d vote for whoever the Republicans run in hopes that she’d lose by a large enough margin that the Democrats actually run viable candidates in the future.
Anyone who loses a head to head election from an uncharismatic dumb-ass bullshit artist with a bad reputation should consider a career in climate-change lectures rather than pursuing a second shot.
The popular vote represents the will of the people. That trumps the electoral college
I have long supported Hillary Clinton through both of her presidential elections Losing to Obama was a disappointment that I quickly got over But when I found out that Russia was actively and covertly involved in all out taking Hillary out of the race through Jill Stein and social media lies I am more than ever hopeful that Hillary has a chance to rub Putin’s nose.
The fact that Democrats , would like to shove Hillary aside after all the hard work of her and her supporters tells me that the Democrats have no loyalty or sense of fair play. I.m really disappointed in you guys You got bullied and rolled over
Yes, I would vote Trump over Hillary again.
I said this before the election- Trump (and Bernie) have stupid positions, but do not have the support nor skills to make their relative agenda happen. Hillary would have been likely to enact a lot of policies I disagree with.
So we will endure Trump for a while, and hope for better choices. Unless you want Pence, who is like Hillary- more skilled at getting things done.
I do not want Pence.
Who did you vote for before?
The people choose the President, not the states, but it’s through the structure of the Electoral College.
Only because the states use popular voting as the method for choosing electors. They don’t have to.
But they all do, and have since 1788, and it’s almost unimaginable that any elected official would vote to change it.
