Ho Ho Ho - The Christmas MMP

btw - have I mentioned how happy I am that I can post at work?
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

rosie, isn’t that the very definition of TMI? I have many good friends that I would rather never see wearing nothing but a Santa hat and undies.

I spoke with my friend whose husband is in the ICU with pneumonia and ARDS. They really didn’t expect him to make it, but he’s held on for 2 weeks so far, and is expected to be in the ICU for another 10 days or so. She is doing well, considering.

Merry Christmas All.

I had an up and down time but mostly up. I flew to my family on Christmas eve and **ZelieVater ** picked me up from the airport. About 2 hours later he wasn’t feeling well. As in unable to sit down, clammy and white from pain. **ZelieMutti ** and I made him call the local doctors’ surgery and the nurse there urged him to go to hospital. He refused but I overruled him and asked her to call us an ambulance. Turns out it was a hernia he’s had for about four years now. The GP had told him it was ok but in July it had given him problems and he hadn’t told anyone. The same pain came back but much worse and so they dosed him up with morphine and slipped it back where it should be. Then there was a long wait while they consulted the registrar about operating that evening. Since **ZelieVater ** was feeling better and it was Christmas eve they decided against it but he’ll be going back in early January I think. After that we went home, chilled out for a bit and both went to different pubs to meet with friends. (I know, I know! I told him about the morphine/alcohol thing but he never listens.)

So after that things got considerably better. I grew up in a fairly small place and I and everyone I grew up with have scattered to the wind. Christmas is the one time of year we are all pretty much guaranteed to pass through and it was lovely to catch up with everyone. Next day was CHRISTMAS!!! and for some reason I got lots of presents to open. Mostly people give me money so it was great to get stuff to open. I had saved my birthday gifts til then too so I was all presented up.

Later on all the family came over. I adore my lil cousins and spent a lot of time with them. Lots of lovely hugs and snuggling. I gave one of them a metal detector as a gift so in the early evening we all went out hunting the secret stash of Roman treasure buried in the garden. The fact that the garden is in Scotland and the Romans never got that far is irrelevant. We found a 5p, a 2p and a weird thing that we couldn’t dig up cos it was in somebody else’s garden. Then we went to visit their home and their grandmother’s home cos everyone had got new cats since I last visited. Cute kitty overload!

And the bestest bit was going to bed at night and having my girl-cat jumping into bed to snuggle with me. And the other bestest bit was waking up every morning to find that there had been a shift-change in the middle of the night and my boy-cat was patting my face so that I’d wake up, move aside and let him get into bed for morning snuggles.

I hope everyone else had such a good Christmas.

Howdy Y’all! I’m at home all relaxed. I did sump’n I’ve never done before. I de-Christmasfied (it’s a word!) the swampcave before Epiphany! I left mom’s about 7:45 this morning cause the weather up there looked kinda icky and there was a chance of snow flurries by late morning and since I don’t deal well with snow of any kind, I decided to hit the road. Anywhoo… I was home by 10:30 this morning and had this burst of energy, so I decided to undecorate the house. All the Christmas stuff is put away. WHEW! I actually feel good about it.

Liberal or Lib as you shall be known in the MMP, sorry about the Christmas travel woes. Here’s hoping Mrs. Lib is feeling better about it all.

Welcome to LemmeOut and Heffalump and Roo for now known as Lem and Heff. This is a fun place. Just jump on in. Thanks for the beer offering Lem. I like you already.

Rosie nephew’s FIL is in my thoughts and prayers. picu I think they were so greatful for such a thoughtful gift from you and Mr. picu. That was really great of the both of ya.

If I missed anybody or anything, then just know that I’m glad, sorry, etc.

I’ve read all of page one but page two, etc., will have to wait til tomorrow.

'Allo to all the new folks who decided to join us yesterday. Welcome.

To those feelilng blue (especially you, rigs. I am worried about you), I hope you’re feeling better today.

To everyone else who had a good day, mark it down in the old memory bank.

My day was busy but lovely. BarbeeDoll and family came for dinner and The Princess and her SO came as well. Mom was also on hand. We had a prime rib and a pork roast and mashed N.O.T.s and fresh green beans and waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much candy and treats. :stuck_out_tongue:

What we did not have…thankfully…was a tornado. You may have seen in the news that we had several touch down here in Central Floriday. I and mine are all safe.

Barbee’s hubby took a plate of dinner over to grampy at the nursing home and he enjoyed it very much. Small pleasures.

Time to go make dinner. Chicken boobies and rice sounds good.

See you all later.

Tupug

That crazy hubby of mine is talking about going to the MAUL tonight. He called me as he drove past it on the way home and said it looked worse than the day we were Christmas shopping. DUH! It’s like the biggest return day of the year! Still and all, he wants to look at the ads and see if there are any good deals. Both he and I, along with the kids received various gift cards and gift certificates for Christmas, so he thinks we might make the most of them by using them for big sales.

Things are still relatively quiet here at work, but I fear it’s the calm before the storm. I’m trying to enjoy it while I can. My boss will be gone tomorrow. Today, I’m the only person in my little person office, so I’ve really been enjoying the solitude. I’d love to have my OWN office, but that won’t happen anytime soon.

Nothing else of note going. Welcome to the newbies, and welcome back to those have visited after a long absence.

Finally, extra hugs to those that are still feeling blue.

Taters obviously hubby has gone stark raving mad! I mean who in their right minds wants to go to the maul today! I suggest throwing a net over him and locking him in the bonus room until he comes to his senses. Sometimes ya just gotta practice tough love.

I need to go to Target after work, only I forgot why. Anybody remember? The entrance fee tends to be pretty steep if I just go in and wander around with an empty cart. I guess I could buy some more toilet paper.

I just got a notification that one of my bills on Where’s George? has surfaced. It made it to Oakland in just under 5 years. That’s 0.02 miles per day. Woo! What a breakneck pace. At that speed, maybe it walked on its own. :stuck_out_tongue:

Jah I’m so proud of you for thinking to buy more toilet paper. SNIFF Maybe I am making a difference in the MMP after all!

I actually took palebunny to the maul today – but in our defense, she was going to one specific store with an outside entrance for one specific item, and I dropped her at the door and then found a quiet corner of the parking lot to doublepark and sit and wait for her to call me when she was ready to be picked up again. Due to a nun friend in New Orleans, we’ve been in the habit for some years now of asking St. Joseph for help in finding parking places, but today when I asked him the answer I got was, “You’re not satisfied with a quiet corner to doublepark in? What do you think I am, a miracle worker?” But amazingly, palebunny finished her shopping in about ten minutes and we were outta there as fast as possible.

We’re having adobo for dinner. (A Filipino spiced meat dish.) Papa Tigs cooks it in the crock pot, and it takes many hours to cook, smelling better and better all the time. The fragrance has now reached torturesome levels, but dinner is not for another hour yet. Envy me, though; we’re eating adobo! Yummy yummy!

Did you think you were going to slip this by us? :dubious: C’mon, now.

It’s not my fault! rosie started it!
Did you hear about the man who opened a dry-cleaning business next door to a convent?
He knocked on the convent’s door and asked the Mother Superior if she had any dirty habits.

I hadn’t considered a gothic angle, but yes, I suppose it could be viewed that way, what with the subdued blue lighting and all. Much as I like the more traditional strings of red-yellow-blue-green lights, I had to admit there was a beautiful serenity about this tree. I suppose it’s because I really like royal blue.

I thought so. That’s why I took so many pictures of it. Sadly my photography skills are lacking. I’ve really got to spend time getting to know ISO speed and aperture settings when using longer exposures so I can avoid all that overexposing I did.

It was an accidental pun, I swear! See, rosie, what happens when you call Swampy’s attention to it? You know he can’t be trusted with bad jokes!

Just diong my bit to keep the groans coming. (no pun untended - get yer minds outta the gutter)

Cristas in and of itself as OK. We got to see relatives and friends, and had a good time.

Maddy screwed the pooch for us, however, by peeing in the middle of our host’s bed.

We don’t know how badly things are hurt between us because we found out by note (they left for Pittsburgh yesterday AM preplanned), but we were mightily embarrassed, and that ws the deciding factor to make us come home a day earlier than planned.

It also appears that my PC has picked up another Trojan Horse, because my keyboard is not working right. Still more

I am home. The store is partial straightened.

drive and run:

sorry sorry sorry… last Friday I was in such a rush to leave the office (yay!) that I forgot to wish y’all a Merry Christmas!

So, uh, belated Merry Christmas. And now excuse me while I go find out whether I’ll be getting 'net at home before holocomputers reach the market, 'mk?

Back at work. Woo and Hoo. The shop is shut down for the week. It’ll pretty much be me all by myself back here in my little building. YAY! Of course, stuff still goes on, so I get to wash mops today! Envy me! Envy, I say!

Back at work myself. I need the rest…
