Hot Dog! It's the MMP!

I’m way behind on reading the MMP cuz the little brother was here and then my allergies kicked into high gear and I didn’t feel so hot. So I completely missed the outage. But I did wonder how everyone was doing. I need to go do some work in the garden and then I’ll be back to read this properly and post something rambly.

Which is my long, rambly way of saying: Hi everyone!!!

gT

Just talked to DH - he was zonked when I left for work this AM, and couldn’t express much more than “can you drive yourself to the train station” - seems the Benadryl did eventually engage, but it took over four hours from the time I got the pills into the beastie. But, seeing as the dog was at her usual level of frisky this morning, I’d say that the pills’ effect lasted shorter than the time it took for them to be useful.

Maybe another option would be to find a completely sound-proof kennel to board her at for that night.

Sorry, the real ones were so good I ate them.

You’re allergic to your little brother? How tragic!

My county is under a Tornado Warning. Lucky for us, the storm has passed us and moving away. But it’s dark and thundery, with more nasties on the way.

At least it’s not snowing, right?

Outage, eh? I bet someone tripped over a power cord or something equally stupid. But, in a stunning lack of stupidity, several good things happened today. One, I now have a computer of my own to use at work. Two, I can access the 'net with it, including LJ and Dope. Still no email though. Three, I was productive too! I’ve made progress sketching out an algorithm for the data analysis I’m working on. I had a big breakthrough right at the end of the day, so the progress will continue unabated tomorrow.

I saw fireworks last night. Not only that, but I smelled them, heard them, and felt them, too. They shot them out over the water, and evidently we (being on the marina) were close enough to get bombarded with little bits of paper and ash and stuff from the projectiles. Impressive show, and an immersive experience.

Pun? Pun.

Oh, and on the subject of chocolates I had a hot fudge sundae while I watched the fireworks. I’ve been suffering such a chocolate withdrawal that I felt the cup of vanilla ice cream and hot fudge was well worth the $3.75 I paid for it, and the 15+ minutes I waited in line while half the population of Panama City asked if they might possibly squeeze through, thank you.

I was having withdrawal to the point where I looked at my class’s bulletin board and hit refresh a zillion times. Still, I didn’t find the scintillating wit and thought-provoking discussion I get here. I missed you guys.

Robin

Scintillating wit and thought-provoking discussion in the MMP? MsR you really, really need to get out more dear.

We are, however, the masters of the universe at juvenilosity and <snerking>.

Hi, everybody! It sounds like everyone survived the 4th with fingers and toes intact, as well as the traumatic loss of the SDMD for what seemed like eternity.

Bragging commences below:

The weather is spectacular today, in the 80s with a slight breeze and fluffy white clouds way up high. Since the Dope was down, I actually left the house today. I enjoyed wandering around on a Wednesday morning while everyone else was back at work.

I went to pick up some embroidery floss to finish another bag and buy sundries at Target. What I found was Johnny Cash’s latest album, which was surprising, seeing as how he’s dead and all. It’s very good so far. The only problem is that the sound doesn’t go up loud enough on my laptop. I firmly believe that Johnny Cash should rattle your windows, and your neighbors’, too, as frequently as possible. I wonder why nobody wants to sit next to me at work? :stuck_out_tongue: Phillistines!

I had lunch at Hobee’s, your standard California hippy diner. I had cinnamon tea and hashbrowns with guacomole, sour cream and salsa fresco. They kindly seated me in the direct line of sight of a lovely young lady who didn’t seem to realize how revealing her blouse was from the side. She wasn’t wearing a bra, either. Tasty! Lunch was good, too. I had strawberry shortcake at the Cold Stone Creamery later.

My local yarn store is having a Fourth of July blowout sale, so I bought some expensive yarn at 40% off. I needed it, because the yarn I already have isn’t cooperating. It’s Noro Iro in colorway 56. Envy me! I think it’s going to be a drop-stitch stole

In fact, while this was down today, I almost clean forgot how to exercise my inner child.

The immature and juvenile inner child.

Ok then, off to make bubbles in the bathtub…

Bleh.

It’s raining again. I am imperially displeased.

Of course, I was kinda already displeased before the rain started.

And the best part is… MBG doesn’t use bubblebath to do it!

<says brightly> The board was down?

I missed the whole thing–I have been cutting tile for the past 8 hours. Half of my backsplash tile is up. Yay!

more later

i am definitely addicted to on line poker - the good news at the end of the week - I break even

Be careful of what you volunteer for… Especially next weekend, when we need to have the joint ready for the moving van.

Oh noooooooooooo! I was so worried about that, and ends up they don’t like each other after all. Only cats. Here’s hoping they both calm down.

Yay Rigs! When this all gets done we expect pictures. After all we have anguished with you through the whole remodel so we need to see the end results.

Bobbio, you found any treasures with which to bequeath MMP cool kid newcomers yet? I know they can’t all be as loverly as FCM’s chandelier but I bet you got sump’nother to offer.

I’m pretty sure I can set all of the cool kids up with antlers and turkey feathers…

Golly, I always wanted antlers. They would go ever so well with my kinda flowery/ethnic motif.

swampy: :stuck_out_tongue:
(I am not either allergic to my little brother! Well, OK, I wanted to smack him when he drove us downtown cuz he took the least logical route when we were already running late, but that didn’t make me itchy.)

Glad most of the outage was during my workday, cuz otherwise I really would have been twitchy.

Still haven’t read all of the MMP, but figured I’d ramble on, anyway; I’ll catch up eventually.

Invitation to my 30th high school reunion came in the mail today. I am now officially a geezer. I find it amusing to contemplate. I’m gonna try to get at least a small Dopefest together while I’m up there (are there any MMPers in or near central Michigan? I’ll be in East Lansing). I usually do my nostalgia tour on my own (and don’t really mind it that way) but it would be fun to meet up with someone besides old high school classmates. (I don’t keep in touch with anyone, so it’ll be surreal, I’m sure.)

In my continuing garden renovation and maintenance endeavors, I planted yet another container (unusual, but purty, I think - I’ll post pics tomorrow…), deadheaded a bunch of flowers, and then got ready to finish of the beds in front of the house. Should have that done tomorrow night. Oh, and I mowed some more. I hate mowing. (Just thought you should know.)

There was more, but I’m tired (combination of allergies and job stress - yucko) and ready to climb into bed.

Nighty night…

GT

I finally managed to get up off my lazy ass and do some laundry. I’ve been washing our sleeping bags in preparation for our camping trip on Friday. I have one more sleeping bag to go.

Next, I need to make my camping packing list because tomorrow I’ll start packing most everything but the perishables. Those will be packed last.

That is all. Other than washing the sleeping bags and catching up on the newspapers, I haven’t done much.
