Yes, I again have the task of driving Scotticher around Texas.
It’s quite a sacrifice, spending the entire day and much of the evening with the lovely Scotticher, but I will do it because, well, I’m just a nice guy.

We appreciate your sacrifices Jim.
Oh, ever the fucking apple polisher.
Can’t wait to see everyone!
Heh…it is more of a sacrifice than you think, beatle dear. Getting stuck with me in a car for ten hours is not as much fun as you might think.
Yay!!! :):):):)
That’s not true, spending 10 hours in the car with Scotti is a pleasure beyond words.
[sub]Ok, that was laying it on a little thick[/sub]
But, really, she is a great travel partner.
Jim
Yeah, except for my propensity for stopping at every little historical site in Texas, reading every plaque and viewing every exhibit. In depth. Poor Jim and the Bear Family…you should have seen me at the Alamo! But I have to say, everyone was only too gracious. No one ever had better hosts.
So…See? It is TOO a sacrifice!
We’ll have to show you some of Houston, then.
Robin
Well…there IS that.
Hmmmmm…maybe you should take the bus?
Jim
Well I would be happy to take the bus, but you DO realize that if I do, someone is going to have to organize a second DopeFest for when I actually arrive?
Which would probably be somewhere around a week from Tuesday?
Oh, well, allrighty then. We’ll just have to leave REALLY early in the morning.
[sub]The 10 hours may very well be 20, but it’s just double the pleasure![/sub]
Jim
Scotti, don’t forget lots of paper, chalk & hairspray (as a fixative for the chalk) or crayons to do rubbings of all the great plaques. Those would make great free momentos of your trip.
::runs away from JimB::
And thank you so much, Robin! I am not sure when we will actually get in to Houston though. I talked Jim into taking me to Galveston first, (surprise, surprise…I heard it has lots of historical stuff…how could I NOT?) so we may not get back to Houston until it is time to meet for dinner.
Next trip, okay?
Hee…thanks Ayesha, I’ll be sure to do just that! I wish I had thought of that for the Alamo.
[sub]We’d probably still BE there![/sub]
You know, girl, that if you run from me, I’ll be chasing you down. And, it might be kinda fun, don’t you think?

Of course I do, that’s why I started running, silly man !
Bump, and before I forget, can I bum a ride from someone?
E-mail me (button on the bottom of this post), and I’ll give you my address.
Robin
I should make it.
Ok, speaking of before I forget, give me a little help with directions. More than likely, Scotti and I will be coming in from Galveston. It looks like I would take 610 west to the Astrodome, turn north on Kirby, follow it to University. Take a right over to Morningside, then left up to the pub.
Does that sound about right or is there a better way to get there?
Jim
If we’re both on the same page, Jim, take a right off of Kirby on to University (traffic light) and follow it until you get to Morningside (4-way Stop sign) where you’ll make a left and find a place to park before you get to the next stop sign (hint: there’s a free parking garage on your left).
I’m looking forward to seeing both of y’all.
