How I spent my Saturday – a boring MMP

I always forget that beer makes me sleepy. I don’t think I want pork rinds for breakfast. I would offer to clean up here, but the lime jell-o in the pool looks like it would take all day and I’m supposed to go on a garden tour at 9:30.

Of course it’s raining. I’m guessing it will be a small crowd. At least it’s not hot, muggy and raining. It’s actually a pleasant temperature, which is a nice change of pace. We have a local crafts festival today as well.

Why am I awake already. I really wanted to sleep in. Guess I’ll crawl back into bed and read a bit and then maybe I’ll get sleepy.

Morning all! :towels off jello: It rained this morning at 4am, just the thing for the extra humidity. That’s what I like about the South, the lobsters and crayfish are grateful to be thrown into a pot of boiling water, because it is cooler and less humid than the air. I am packed and ready to go, and will be leaving shortly to drop Maggie Wondermutt off at the vet for her vacation.

swampy, have you sobered up from your pool party yet?

gt, pig is the breakfast meat of choice!

Taters, who taught you to frakking curse like that?

Everybody sing!

Ok, it was not like that. Actually everybody was gone by six o’clock which was fine by me. We cleaned up stuff (I had help!) and then ACBG and I hung around the pool drinking some beer and well, just never you mind, til about ten last night. So, all in all it was pleasant. No, I am not hungover.

I’ve even been productive this morning. I woke up around seven feeling all rested and relaxed, so I got up and made coffee. Then I baked two buttermilk custard pies to take to a dinner party this evening. Yeah, envy my social life! The best part is I’m on vacation!!! YAY!!! I was going to do some work up in Chattanooga, TN for a couple of days but now I don’t have to, so I’m taking the whole week. I think on Wednesday I’m going up to see my mother and sister for a couple of days. That’ll be nice. Sis and I will likely hang out at her pool quaffing beer. Then next Saturday, Sis and Bil and a couple other folks are coming down for my birthday to hang out at my pool and drink beer. Seems a lot of my summer time leisure involves hanging out at pools and drinking beer. I’m jake with that though.

Ima go get cleaned up. Somebody is still asleep but will probably stir soon. I need to go buy some paper for my printer cause I’m just about out. I’m not complaining though, cause the last box I bought did last me almost four years. The way I see it, if a box of paper lasts four years on average, I’m doing good. Also, I need some stuff from the grocery store. I think I’ll get ACBG to get ready and go with me so he can take me to lunch. He loves it when I grant him the priviledge of buying me lunch. He does. Really.

::walks through pool party carnage:: You call this cleaned up??? :dubious:

By the time I left work last night I was cross-eyed with tiredliness. What a day. Imma gonna buy me a lotto ticket today and hope I can be on my way to Tallahassee Monday morning instead of back to the office. I’m too old for this stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think some sheesh-ka-bobs would be good for dinner tonite. So I’m gonna go buy some of those basket thingies cause I’m tired of my maters fallin off the skewers.

Happy vacation to alla the slackers! Hope you’re still hangin in there rigs. Hiya, scout!

Morning! Who’s cooking breakfast?

I would like bacon and eggs and pancakes and maple syrup, please. And maybe some Darjeeling tea. Mr. Lissar is still in bed, in spite of the fact that I went to bed after 2, and he went to bed at 11:30. I think I hear Aerin telling him off. That’s good.

I got breakfast. Breakfast burritos for everyone, we’ll work it buffet style, there’s 'tillas, eggs, a few different cheeses, bacon, chorizo, avacado, and a few salsas. Try the garlic chipotle, mmmmmm.

Off to the chirodoctor, then off to buy blinds and a ceiling fan, envy me.

Then home to try that long trail up the Fox River finally. See how far I make it before I realize I have to return home.

My daughter is sleeping in the sectional here next to me. Why’d we even bother putting a bed in her room?

Good morning everyone! I’ll take one of those breakfast thingies MBG.
Mmmmmfffff, thas goooood!

It is still hot as blazes here. I think the sun got mixed up. It’s not supposed to be so hot here. It’s so hot that I have absolutely no interest in alcohol. All I want is water.

We’re fixin’ to head out on the boat. It should be fun. I’m going to pack me quite a few Propel waters. I’ll be sure to pack some beer, in case anyone wants some.

Good morning!

It’s gonna be a lazy day for me, that’s for sure. Mr Rebo had to work, so I didn’t even make breakfast. Just heated up some leftover swiss steak.

Yesterday I went to the doc for my monthly blood-letting (viral load is down to 15,000, BTW!) and grocery shopped for my house and for my son. I’m such a mom. I bought him a pot to cook pasta or chili in, since I didn’t have one to give him. And a colander.

We had 15 bean soup (made with a leftover ham bone) and cornbread muffins last night. Tonight will be grilled steaks and baked NOTs.

Is it too early to take a nap?

Rebo it’s never too early to take a nap. Silly question! :stuck_out_tongue:

Lunch has been eaten, stuff has been bought and now I need to do whatever it is that I felt the need to go buy paper for. Oh yeah, I need to make a copy of a manual. Duh!

Dogbutler, the Cottonmouths are in the Southern Professional Hockey League. This will be the third season for this league, mostly formed of teams who couldn’t handle the financial costs of travel in the East Coast Hockey League. We have a new team this season, in Richmond, VA. Sounds like a call for a road trip as I’ve never been to Richmond.

Damn, it’s hot out there. I really need to go out and cut down some more of the overgrown shrubs in the back yard, but it just doesn’t seem like a good idea in 102 heat. Hockey is not the only reason I’m looking forward to fall.

I made a really good jersey trade with a friend of mine. She’s selling some of her jerseys, and mentioned she’s selling one from one of my favorite players. Since I got the new Matus Kostur goalie gamer this summer, I have two jerseys of the same year and color. So I offered to trade her my blue Randy Copely jersey for her red Jarred Smyth, and she can sell the Copely. She agreed! I’m so excited! Mr. SCL, who doesn’t understand the jersey collecting thing at all, says I need to quit or I’ll have a different jersey for every game. I thought about it and realized that I’m halfway there! Of course, they’re not all gamers - I have a Mickey, and a Goofy, and the Grateful Dead, and of course Starfleet Academy…

It’s too hot to breathe out there. The shrubs aren’t going to get any more overgrown with the lack of rain we’ve been having. I think I’ll stay inside and read.

::stretches, checks for proper clothing in proper places, [sub]scratches an embarassing itch[/sub], yawns::

Coffee! Now! Please?
And why is there an empty ke floating in the pool?

It was so humid this morning, the windows were totally condensation’ed (yes, it’s a made up word, so what? :D)
I’m glad I decided to stay in the a/c today and just veg (even tho that’s what I usually do on the weekend - I need a life)

It’s raining! I didn’t think it did that round here any more.

Yawn! That was a good nap! 1:45 to 4:15.

I made cookies before napping though.

:: passes around Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Raisin Pecan cookies ::

MMMMMMM… cookies. I can eat a dozen or so before I go take a shower. Got milk?

107 here at the moment, and we’ve had a couple of rather unnerving brownouts. Just enough so far for all the battery backups around the house to chatter and chirp a bit. (What is the plural of UPS? UPSs? UPSes? Nothing looks right.)

Even with the AC running all-out, the temp in the house is climbing slowly. The thing’s only five years old, so I’d like to think it’s in excellent condition, and I did change the filters a week ago.

I also vacuumed out the coils on the fridge last night. Hoo boy, what a task that was. I had to pull the fridge out, squeeze between it and the corner of the range, and remove an access panel. The dust bunnies are gone, and the thing seems to be running cooler.

I went to Wal-Mart today. Now I am about to partake in an Adult Beverage[sup]TM[/sup] I purchased there.

Back from another day on the Eastern Shore. We breakfasted in Annapolis, then across to Stevensville to look at an Islander 36, followed by a drive down Rt 50 to Cambridge to look at a Southern Cross 31. Then back to look at the Islander. Then to the office to write up an offer on the Islander. I hope we can make this deal happen - it’s a great boat. There are few things that have to be done to it, but lots of things we’d like to do to it. It’ll sleep 6 comfortably, and it has a huge cockpit. The sails will need to be replaced in a few years, but overall, it’s in good shape. So, fingers crossed…

Tomorrow, we’ll get outside before the heat sets in and clean the gutters and mow the yard. Then we’ll retreat to the basement and play with clay.

For the rest of this evening, nothing. Chillin’, kickin’ back, that sorta thing. Except I really should do my theraputic stretches. Shouldn’t I? <sigh> Stoopit shoulder.

Home from a lovely day in multiple garden-y places. It cleared up by 9 or so and became progressively prettier, so we had a lovely lovely day. The daylilies were pretty, the gardens at OSU were very very nice, and the topiary garden was beautiful as well.

I’ve made a run to Target and Bed, Bath etc. and am now going to go out and plant a few things, since it’s unnaturally pleasant out. Tomorrow’s supposed to be pleasant as well, so I’ll probably be spending the day in my garden too.

So…we get through 12 pages and what…? Run out of words? Golly it’s quiet tonight. Must be cuz NO ONE CLEANED UP AFTER THE PARTY!!!

::Pulls out mop and pail and cleaning supplies and turns into cleaning whirlwind.::

Better than cleaning here, I suppose. Dug out a bunch of stuff so that I can plant the daylilies I’ve gotten in the last week. Fortunately they’re something that you can transplant pretty much any time. I think I have all my daylily relocations planned too, so tomorrow will be big fun, I’m sure.

Can someone tell me where I left my memory card reader? I want to download my pics from today and don’t see it anywhere. Guess I could go look for it.
