Nut What Sunny said.
I think I shall dip out early cause I can so I can nurse my knees and watch TV at the same time or read.

Home, tahred, not making supper since **FCD **doesn’t want any. I stopped at Food Lion and the Amish market on the way, and I scored some cherries, fresh green beans, and beeyooteeful 'maters.
One more work day this week. Plus tomorrow is payday, so huzzah for that! However, now it’s time to feed the dog.
swampy, hope you are feeling better.
Butters, hope the shots bring you relief.
Big Kitty, hope the interview goes well. No help on the title, I’m afraid, never any good on that.
Nut, figure your budget first (what you can afford) and deal within it; an ‘extra’ job you can’t afford to quit is no bargain and hopefully an agreeable landlord/roomie can be found.
Lawn mowed and nappage completed. Looking at the Doppler map (love the National Weather Service), looks like I was smart to mow when I did, quite a bit of rain is currnelty 30 miles south of here and heading this way.
I don’t know anyone who has aircon at home in the Yoo Kay; we’d need it maybe one week a year most years, some years not at all. The temperature is supposed to drop fairly substantially tonight, at least here.
Unfortunately, they’d probably want me to sign a 12 month lease- certainly at least 6 months- that’s just standard here.
The other problem is it’s a small town, so there are very few options for work (or housing). I grew up somewhere of a similar size, and I know there is a pretty good chance that finding a suitable job, especially once the summer tourist season ends, is simply not gonna happen. I’ve been looking at the local job sites, and there’s virtually nothing on there.
It’s an odd set up, they only do two subjects at university level, and the class size is small, so they only have maybe 50 students that aren’t living with parents. Just not a standard university town at all.
Good luck on the job interview big kitty.
Feel better soon all you [del]sickos[/del] sickies.
I’ll likely sleep with Ben tonight. My back and left hip have been bothering me today. Things are beginning to ease up at irk, as our new coordinator is beginning to get up to speed. That means that the cow-orker who is training her will be back to doing our stuff full time soon. Yay!
'Mater sammich supper and tin roof sundae dessert. I’m going to try to sleep without Mel tonight. Wonder how that will work out?
Home. Posted at 240 pm I was gonna leave. I left at 6pm. Thats the way it goes. Was going to try to stay home tomorrow but really don’t see that happening. Anyone want a job? Pays around $12.00 an hour and to rent a room in a shared house is no less than $1000-1500 per month not including utilities. As you can see you’ll need several jobs but the scenery is pretty and it’s free to look.
I used to keep much longer hours than I do now. When sequestration hit we went from 8-8 seven days a week to 9-6 M-F and 9-1 on Sat with Sunday being closed. Back then i had no trouble getting staff, mostly active duty Chiefs. I had one junior female sailor that worked 7 days a week from 4-8 and never missed a shift in about 3 years. Back then we may have had a total of six staff including me.
Now it so different. I only have 5 total employees including me when fully staffed but everyone, including me, wants to be sick, or take vacations or just a day for no reason at all. I think I need more staff period.
Take my advice all you lurkers; management is not worth it. Just don’t do it. And the old adage “if you want something done right, do it yourself” holds true.
Does my Director care if we have a staff shortage no matter the reason? No he doesn’t!
Ok Rant over.
Worked, bought dog food ,napped. Watching the NHL Awards/Las Vegas Expansion draft
Nut, look for waht you can affored without the job. That way you’re sent if you can’t find one, or have to quit to concentrate on school
: crosses appropriate and inappropriate appendages for BigKitty: And I like the Forrest Sprite one the best.
Butters, I know the feeling. If retirement was calculated by hours worked, and not by age ,I could have retired at 34. and {{{{hugs}}}}
Dogioo Just what constitutes an inappropriate appendage? Anyone?
No place like home, icing gimpy knees while drinking a glass of water. It’s early yet. I have a new 12 pack. Niece ordered a coconut rum mixed with ginger ale and lime. I only tasted but damn it was good. Dogiooo try it.
I put a card and some cash (i know) in the mail today for my brother’s Birthday that was almost a month ago and I did not forget just trying to save, save, save. I texted his wife and told her I hadn’t forgot, had quit that nasty smoking habit and was gonna send a card. Also told her to please let me know when it arrives.
I think I shall indulge now in a beer or three.
Monday was horrid in NJ but ------------- my bulldozer was air-conditioned. It was fun and I am so glad I did it but it was actually like work! Not knowing what the heck you are doing has that effect sometimes. I was a nice trip but rushed. I was close to Mooom and Spidey and others I am sure but no chance for any kind of Mumper Highjinks or anything. My only side trip was to the Delaware Veterans Cemetery to visit Uncle Kopek. But with luck there will be a next time and it can all get done.
PS ---- saw their plans for an extended XL. <rubs hands together in glee>
Late this afternoon Stormpocalypse blew thru; it got real dark, & rainy, & windy, & cold. I had to close the winders that were previously open to take advantage of the pre-storm mid-80°s, low humidity, sunny day. but since I had to do so in a rush, I never turned the AC on; now the house it hot, hot, hot.
When I did the dishes, one of the glasses decided it wanted to go on walkabout from the drainboard. I tried to get a foot out to break it’s fall but didn’t catch it. Trust me, the glass won’t make that mistake again. RI[del]P[/del]TC (Trash Can) glassy.
Welcome back Ruble. Pics?
I shoulda taken Mel to bed last night - ugh. Glad my weekend starts at 3:30 today.
My BFF from high school is coming over on Sunday with her dog - you may recall me talking about Buttons. Poor pup has cancer and the vet doesn’t think she’ll live a year and even if there was a possibility of a cure, my friend just flat-out can’t afford expensive treatments. But she’s going to make Buttons’ remaining time as fun as she can, and running around our yard is apparently big fun for the Butt.
Other than that, big pile of stuff to be done, so busy day ahead.
Happy Thursday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 89 and p.m. rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We shall see. I feel much better today but not a hunnert percent yet. I shall do laundry (sheets in the washer as I post) and consider makin’ dindin. Not sure if’n I’m up to smellin’ foodstuffs cookin’. I do want some solid food however so maybe I can deal.
BigKitty appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the job interview.
I read all but retained little so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, how you doin’s all around as needed.
Now I shall have some more caffeine which feels good right now. Then I shall purtify up and go forward with the day. I might even leave da cave for a bit if I feel like it later on.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Well fine then, i’ll just talk to myself. I et some solid food and so far it has agreed with me. YAY! Sheets are out of the dryer and on the bed, a load of undies is in the dryer and a load of miscellaneous stuff is in the washer. I feel so productive!
Morning swampy. Got the garbage out in the rain, was heavy enough that I pulled out the old umbrella to wheel the can to the curb.
Morning project is putting up the blind over the bay window, so my back-door neighbors can’t be peeking in. I think in the long run it’ll need to be replaced.
Next home improvement project is new front/rear doors. And a new water pump.
Did anyone hear that?
Happy Thorsday!
It’s a muggy 72 degrees outside, but I have the windows open anyway.
I like fresh air.
I got a decent night of sleep so I feel pretty good today.
It look like it may rain today, I hope it holds off long enough for the front yard to be mowed.
I’m getting a plumber out to fix the toilet.
I’m glad you’re feeling better Swampy
Good luck BigKitty
No thanks Butters My mortgage + utilities is under $1000/month, and I don’t have to drive too far out of town to get some nice views. Although yours are probably better. Except in the fall, the mountains are very pretty in autumn.
Plenty! But you have to come over for dinner to see them. ![]()
Huh? What? ![]()
Up and starting laundry. The weather is making for more regular t-shirt changes than usual.
Meh, probably the hot water pipes.
