How muggy is it in the MMP?

I’m planning to add Mel to the bed roster, along with DH and a certain pain-in-the-tail cat.

I really hope we skip any 4am drama because DH is getting ready for irk and can’t find something, since I don’t really need to be up until 6:30 and would really like to learn more about this thing called “sleep”.

I also am sleeping with Mel. Mel gets around.

{{{Butters}}}

Feel better soon swampus!

I don’t sleep with Mel. I sleep with a 3 year old who likes to warm her toes on my leg, and rotates sideways in her sleep every night.

Apparently, I am now allergic to gluten. I don’t know if it’s just an “intolerance” or developing into coeliac disease, but every time I eat the darn stuff, I get the worst bloat and painful gas pains 12-18 or so hours later. Last night all I ate was one (1) choc-chip cookie, and today has been absolute misery since 11am. I took an anti-histamine/zantac and two de-gas (simethicone) capsules, and spent the day wearing a path in the concrete at the back of my parents’ house. Periodic burping ensued, and regular trips to the toilet, but still no relief from the pain in my right side. :frowning:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Then a trip to the feed store for Gordie.

{{{{Butters}}}}

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 80 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse. This could be true cause it was so yestiddy. Still under the weather. I’m achy all over but the chills and fever seem to have gone away. We shall see. Thus today shall be another day of hidin’ out in bed.

Sorry about otto. :frowning:

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Mel done good last night. I was unconscious by 9 and didn’t wake till my bladder got insistent around 4:30. I count that as a win! I still feel a wee bit dopey, but I’ll survive the day.

Still, Mel sure does get around in the MMP! Who knew he was such a manwhore?!?

**Dotty **- I learned early on that my kid wasn’t a good napping partner. Tho I shouldn’t have been surprised - she was a gymnast in utero, so why would she have calmed down when she could flop over a whole king-size bed, regardless of who else was there?? And bummer about the chocolate chip cookie and gluten-related agonies. Here’s hoping it’s just a transient condition brought on by a kicking 3-y/o…

Hot day ahead - then again, it is the Summer Solstice in this hemisphere. Happy Wednesday!!

Up and at them. Waiting until a little later in the morning to go mow the lawn, rain is in the forecast from Thorsday until Moanday, when I leave (yeah!) on vacation. My neighbor owns a lawn service, so I’ll pay him to mow it at least once before I get home, but a trim now will help.

The window folks took the brackets off the large bay window (none of the others) and I’m still trying to figure how to put them back with the new design. May need to get out the power tools. May also need to get new blinds for that window.

Need some sustinence now.

Didn’t sleep well last night. Woke up to find a job nibble from my recruiter in my email. It’s a data entry position. Possible interview next week. fingers crossed

I’m also getting ready to submit a story for publication. It’s a “what happened next” for Snow White and Rose Red featuring Rose Red running away to fairyland. I’m trying to think of a good title. Right now I’m thinking
[ul]
[li]The Heroine’s Reward[/li][li]The Real Heroine[/li][li]Return to the Forest[/li][li]The Girl and the Forest Sprite[/li][/ul]

Not really enamored of any of these, but I’m liking the last one the best.

** blurf**

BigKitty I like the third one.

Howdy Y’all! I went back to sleep. Now I am up and all purtified. Not goin’ anywhere but it felt good to have a hot shower. I feel like I shall be back among the well by tomorrow as I don’t feel near as bad as yestiddy. I do foresee crashin’ on the bed again in a while.

Taters! - welcome back

(((((Dotty))))) - good to see you again too

Feel better soon, swampy, it’s no fun being icky.

I am less ick than I was the other day but it’s really hot again and I am melting. Our office is roasting so I will be glad when it gets to be time to go home. That’ll be about 10 minutes from now. Don’t pull that face, it doesn’t suit you!

Pub night tonight too, I see a beer garden in my future

I’ve spent the morning rasslin’ with a set of drawing of a control box. It’s been a challenge - how can something so small have so many details??? I’m about halfway done, I think. At least it made the morning go by fast.

Office-mate has tentatively agreed to house-sit/critter-sit for us when we go on our cruise in October. So that’s one load off my mind. C’mon, October!!!

OK, not that big a rush, but I am looking forward to time away… with lobstah!

Back from my rooster pecker shots. I am now propped up and icing in my office. Hey, I am here at least.

Tis my teen clerks 18th so we are having pizza and N.O. cupcakes. She is a bright and beautiful girl and smart. She is heading to Florida State this fall. Her one wish for her 18th is to get a tattoo with some palm trees and the coordinates of Key West as she was born here and has lived here her entire life. I am really surprised her Mom is gonna let her get a tattoo but oh well.

Today was not nearly as traumaticage as last week.

Fine I will just talk to myself like Swampykins does all the time. BTW Swampy I hope you are feeling better. And all the other sickies too.

Swampy and Dotty feel better.

Butters was this your last shots in this series? Your teen clerk is 18 now, so I suppose she get her tattoo if’n she wants to. You can nudge her to put it somewhere that can be covered up in future job interviews.

Big Kitty I like the third one too. Keep playing with titles. I used to have a rule that I had think of at least 10. It can feel a little weird, like you’re forcing things, but you usually get some good options if you just keep spitballing.

I got an interview tomorrow. I’d be more excited/nervous if I weren’t so tired.

Happy Hump Day!

I woke too early at 5am, stayed up for a bit and then went back to bed. Now I’m up for good.

It cooled down nicely last night so I opened the windows this morning. Of course it didn’t stay cool so the windows are closed.

I need to call a plumber I think for the powder room. I think, hard to tell because the room is so tiny, that water is leaking under the toilet. From what I can tell that means a new wax ring, but I don’t know for sure because the toilet isn’t wobbly and I don’t want to fool with it.

Butters, we’re your friends here.

Evenin’ all.

{{sickies, grumpies, anyone else who wants one}} Better warn you, I’m all hot and sticky though

I’m mostly trying to work out budgeting for moving today; I’d really like to go for a flat I don’t have to share, rather than being a lodger again, but it will mean dipping into savings (even assuming I can get one)… I mean, lodging is fine if your landlord is easy to get on with, but I bet it’d be horrible if not. A flat’d be fine costwise if I could guarantee getting a weekend or evening job, but I can’t. Gahh…

Too many decisions, not enough info.

Thanks Sari. Sunny this was the second of three. If I can get another 10 or so months pain free it will be a win. I am still propped and icing. On the clock even.

Nut and BooFae Do you guys not have air conditioning there? I am married to an air conditioning man. That is how important air conditioning is to me. Especially since we live in the sub tropics where it is hawt and humid almost year round.

Sari a leak under your toilet could also lead to floor rot, which is bad. Best get it checked out and fixed.

Big Kitty good luck with the interview. You will do great.

Nut I think, in your shoes, this is what I would be weighing: do I want to have a part-time job at the same time I am starting school? Could I manage for the first term without a job while I see how it goes? Am I the sort of person that does well without other people around? Depending on the answers to those questions, you can decide on what to do about the flat. It may be worth dipping into savings to have a term by yourself with no job. You can pick up a job after you’re more familiar with your new town.

I am hongry. I should attempt to find food.
