Been a busy morning and I’m taking a little break before lunch. I’m surprised I haven’t dozed off.

It cooled down enough over night that I can have the windows open. I don’t know for how much longer, but I can enjoy it while it lasts.
I woke up too early, at 5am. I stayed up for a while, but the sleepies got to me and I went back to bed. I ended up sleeping until 10, way too long.

The window guys are here and replacement seems to be going smoothly and quickly. So I’m keeping a wary eye for Murphy showing up…

It’s 35C here in Newfoundland, 95F. Absolutely brutal for someone who thinks 24C is plenty warm. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it quite so high. No clouds, either.

I was up til 1am this morning lending moral support while Wifey packed for her trip. I know better than to try to help. Was awakened at 6am by the yorkie licking my hand. That means “I have to go outside RIGHT NOW dad!” so we (the two dogs and I) did that. Usually have trouble going back to sleep after these forays but luck was with me this morning.
So anyway, I’ll be batching it for the next 5 days. I get to watch all those grade D sci fi movies I have saved on the DVR. :eek: or the first few minutes of them anyway.
In other news; today I need to go to the DMV and inform them that we sold the suburban. I also need to go to the sto and get some supplies, take the schnauzer to the vet for his shot so I can renew his license to remain a dog, and take the truck to the [del]dump[/del] transfer station and empty it of yard debris.
Some of that will prolly happen tomorrow, depending on how long it takes me at the DMV.
It’s overcast and cool (74 Merikan) here today. Good day for a take-n-bake pizza.

Can’t wait for corn season to really get into full swing tho. 
I have actually cooked brussel sprouts with bacon and garlic and they weren’t as horrible as usual, but I don’t anticipate doing it again.

Well, hello Dotty! I’m sorry to read about the divorce, but can well understand where you are coming from.
I’ve been feelin’ sick all day. Started around seven-thirty this mornin’ with chills, then fever. Right now I feel better but still ick. I suggested to OYKW that he stay at his place bein’ as I am all germy. I ate some instant chikin’ ‘n rice stuff a little bit ago and I’m keepin’ it down do far so maybe I am on the mend. I have slept off and on all day. ICK!
ETA: First on Two! It’s good to be juvenile.

Sunny, you were right, shouldn’t have mentioned Murphy. One of the windows was sized wrong, they have to re-order it (no cost to me) and by the time they get it I’ll be on vacation until mid-July. Not a big thing, they’ve put the old window back in and it’ll do fine, but…things…

While at CostCo today I witnessed the following: mother handed her small son the receipt to show the person on the way out the door with careful instructions. He promptly turned and threw it in the trash can. He obviously knew what one is to do with all receipts.

I made crab cakes for supper, but they were very disappointing. The so-called “lump” crab was actually more like shredded crab, and it was from China, which means it’s probably half melamine. :eek: Honestly, it didn’t even taste like crab. But we have ice cream for later, so there’s that.
Two days down, two to go. Sleeping with Mel tonight - I really need a good snooze.
ETA: Forgot to mention that my baby sis had to have her greyhound put down today. He was very old, even for a greyhound, and when I saw him Sunday, he looked positively skeletal. Otto was a good boy…

I went out to eat with hubs and 7 family members plus niece stopped by for a drink. I haven’t shared but hubs son got promoted to asst fire chief for the county of Henry in Jawja. Sort of near Atl and a pretty big deal for him. Anyway, he and his wife and 4 of their six younguns plus one boyfriend have been visiting since last Firday. They have a camper trailer and are staying in a local rv park. This was the first time i went out due to gimpy knees, weekend and I just saw them less than three months ago.
I can’t even be sick or get a vacay yet we are gonna host (sort of) 7 ppl??? Umm, no. I am not. Hubs says they are paying their own way re meals but I know better. They are both firefighters and probably make more money than us Plus they are way younger and only one of the 5 kids is actually hubs blood relative. Shit ain’t right. I do resent it.
No wonder I have no friends.
I have had the shots before and attribute the trauma to the 2 weeks waiting for ins approval and the severity of the flare-up. Twas suffering I was. I expect at least 10-12 months relief once the needle part is over.
