How muggy is it in the MMP?

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s raining. I’m off today, and it’s the Draft Party at PNC.

I’m making some general plans on jumping ship. Morale is totally in the toilet and that makes it hard to do my best work let alone have any fun. The current lead is one of those “rule through fear” types and he has driven all our past leadership away except 2 ---- and one of those two isn’t that terribly good. What I am trying to think out is do I really think our home delivery operation is going to get its own building in the next 6 months and do I want to try for that, do I just want to be retired a while and see what happens, or do I want to head for other pastures.

I assume you don’t mean PNC Park down the road from me. I caught the thing about Flower going to Vegas. It will be interesting to see how the locals react when he returns for another team in Jan/Feb.

Good morning! I got up with **FCD ** at 5 to tend to Higgs, then lay back down and dozed on and off till a bit after 8. Still got a bit of a Mel-hangover, but I’ve showered, dressed, stripped the bed, and breakfasted. I also pulled the smoker out of its corner (it gets blocked in when **FCD **parks) and shortly, I’ll be looking for smoked brisket recipes - open to suggestions!!

We got some rain this morning - enough to fill the puddle in the driveway. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it, but our drive has a bit of a shallow dip about 30’ from the house, and it turns into a pool after a good rain. This morning, the pool spans the width of the drive - yay for rain! Plus (dammit :D) I can’t mow. Alas…

Butters, all but one of our dogs have been female and none have done multiple pees. They’d go out, sniff around a bit, squat, then come back in. I know anecdote isn’t the same as data, but what’cha gonna do?

Happy Firday, all!!

Call the Dr.

It’s a bit late for part I (brining) but not part II - Hint: I have a liquid pan, not a water pan in my smoker.

Gordie has been walked, recycling is out, laundry is spinning. Brunch time.

That would be a little far to drive. PNC Arena*. And I think he gets a stand O and a tribute. Heck, Philly fans still love Rod Brind’Amour, and he’s been gone 16 years.

*Can we get a sponsor who doesn’t use Islander colors?

Well, brisket smoking isn’t happening till tomorrow. I had no idea it took 10-12 hours, and there’s no way I want to be dealing with it at 9 or 10 tonight (had I started earlier.) So I’ll prep it tonight and get it started first thing tomorrow. If I can get it going by 7, we can have brisket for supper.

What kills me - they say smoke it an hour per pound, but there’s no way I’d cut this brisket in half and smoke it half as long - that makes no sense! On end is lots thicker than the other. Bottom line, no smokeage today.

But I’ve washed our sheets and I’ll remake the bed a little later. **FCD **just called - he’s off work and when he gets here, we’ll go get lunch. I had to change out of my raggedy shorts and slippers into decent shorts and shoes, but I’m ready to go now. Yay lunch!

Blurf Just came from the pubic store where I bought :shudder: diet food. Now that I feel I

have kicked the habit I need to lose those extra pounds I piled on during my quit. I got celery,

carrots, tuna, broccoli, and berries and a few other low calorie foods. I could probably lose the

weight just by quitting drinking beer but I just have to have it on Moanday at least. I can quit

everyday but that day. Seven weeks ago I quit smoking. It is getting easier every day.

oh and TGIF

Howdy Y’all! I have been shorn, gone to the Pubic Sto’ and gotten some shrimpies for tomorrow night’s dindin (shrimp 'n grilled chikin sallits), and went to the Cookie Shoppe where I got me some of their chikin noodle soup but no cookies cause cookies do not appeal to me right now. The soup however was good and tummy seems to be happy.

Something went wrong somewhere. I went to go lay down and take a nap, instead I washed a bunch of hand wash dishes, made brunch and two dinners for later this week. And then cleaned around the sink. When did I get productive?

Baker, can you get to California by end of day? Apparently, they’re having the Flytrap of dogs convention there.

Once again, the King of TMI puts two things in one sentence that we should never see juxtapositioned. I think I’ll have a drink now.

You ain’t even ugly enough to win $1,500.00, Spiderbutt.

100 amurkin forecast for the next few days. I think cognitive dissonance has set in. My poor brain. :stuck_out_tongue:

Up until 4 am last night. Why is insomnia a thing?

Happy Firday all!

We did lunch at Red Robin, and one meal was free! Yay for their royalty club!

Once we got home, he helped me make the bed and now he’s achieving nappage. I may veg in front of Netflix. Or play some computer games. Something non-productive.

Rained all day yesterday. Raining most of the day today. Sick of rain. That is all.

I thought I posted in here this morning. Must have taken place all in my head, again.

Dinner with the kids was very good last night. The corn onna cob was especially good and the Girl Child said she got it at Wally World. Today, while on my errands, I decided to trek the 8 miles to WW instead of my local Kroger type store and get some. I prolly didn’t save any money, what with gas and all, but it’s the principle of the thing. :dubious: 'Sides, there’s a Jersey Mikes sub shop up there and I’ve never been, so I went. Got the corn, but nothing else.

Jersey Mikes subs are pretty good, but not really better than Subways, plus they’re smaller and more expensive, and the place was full of millennials.

Yes, I’m feeling cranky today, why do you ask?

According to fitbit, I got less than 5 hours of sleep last night, thanks to the dogs. That could have something to do with it.

Hmmm. We have coconut rum, key lime rum, and some ginger beer so strong that even I can’t drink it straight. I wonder…

Steak ‘n sallit have been ingested. So far tummy is toleratin’ both. I’m takin’ that as a good sign. Chill mode ensues. Tomorrow shall be devoted to quality cee-mint pond time weather permittin’. Right now that looks kinda iffy.

Bless their poor pitiful hearts. They can’t help it.

Going home finally.

I just finished prepping the brisket - boy, there was a lot of fat on it! But it’s ready for the smoker bright and early. We’ve put the smoker on the front porch under the overhang just in case the rain lasts longer than we’re expecting. As soon as I get up, I’ll get it preheating and with luck, I can get the meat started by 7. Hope much yum is in store…

And so winds down our day.

Neither can Spiderbutt. :dubious:

butters, if Sis’ and SIL’s male chihuahui are data points, they just have to pee on anything that anybody else has peed on. It’s a matter of chihuahua honor, I think. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy smokage Moooooom.

spidey, while some of those dogs may shock you with their looks at first, the ones that I’ve met tend to be sweethearts.

Got stuff knocked out at irk today, grocery shopped and picked up Greek takeout for supper. Tomorrow, I’ll be staffing the Pride gate from 8:30-10:30. In the evening, there’s a fiftieth birthday party for a friend. I’m making a sesame cucumber salad to take.
