How often do you shower?

I usually shower once every 3 days or so - my hair doesn’t need to be washed more often. I take baths fairly frequently, though.

Minimum 1 per day.

Every two to three days. More often as needed, I’m a bit of a clean freak but practical too. During normal week day work life I don’t usually do much that gets me dirty or sweaty.

Once a day, usually in the morning, though I might wait until later if the only thing I’m doing that morning is cleaning the house and/or exercising.

I wash my hair less often in the winter, every other day to every three days or so, because it gets crispy, but I wet it when I shower so I can style it.

When I was younger, it was once a day, because I could shower once a day, and by bedtime my hair would look filthy. However, now that I’m in my late 40’s, that’s not an issue. Plus I have dry skin.

I shower every two days (sometimes, in extra-cold weather, every three days). In very hot, humid weather, daily. But every two days is sufficient given clean clothes, underwear and deodorant. My hubby is very blunt and would not hesitate to tell me I smell bad.

Usually daily, but not religiously. I sometimes go a day without. Depends on a lot, including the weather, my activity type and level, how I feel, if I am on my period, etc.

I usually shower in the morning if I am working that day, both to wake up and just to feel fresh for the day.

I don’t wash my hair daily, though. Maybe every 3rd day. (though sometimes I will get it wet just to let it re-dry in a more flattering way, having curly hair that sometimes assumes crazy forms during sleep:D)

I use a good deoderant (that crystal stuff, which works very well for me…zero BO even IF I go a few days between showering and perspire in between) and am generally healthy so my natural body odor/scent is not strong or disgusting.
I don’t feel the need to smell like soap to feel clean. But many do, the idea is so strongly ingrained into us in the US that ANY trace of natural body scent is dirty and gross.

Every other morning, whether I need it or not. Summers are low-humidity here, so I don’t feel like I need a shower as soon as I leave the house, like people in some parts of the country. On weekends when I’m not going anywhere, I sometimes don’t take my shower until the afternoon.
My wife used to shower every day, but she has seen how well an every-other-day schedule works for me, and has adopted it herself.

Daily, because I get bed head from hell.

Here’s a little pearl of wisdom for folks with dry skin, from my old anatomy & physiology prof. Most people over bathe. Unless you just climbed out of a coal mine, you really only need to use soap on your hands, feet, and the hairy areas of the body. That gets you clean without washing away the natural skin oils you need.

I usually wash my hair and shower once a day but I don’t freak out if I miss one. My hair is actually a bit more behaved the day after I shower. I also shower if I’ve been working out or doing something sweaty. I try to time my exercising so that I can combine the post-workout and the morning shower.

Generally once a day. It’s more my hair that needs it than my body; when it’s cut short I’ll sometimes skip a shower and just wash my face and splash a bit of water on my head and call it a day. As it gets longer I really need to wash it to keep me from looking like I just got out of bed.

I will say that showers are one of the greatest and simplest luxuries of the modern world.

Every day after work. I’ll skip a day or two(or more, though I am better about this than I used to be)on the weekends. I’m perfectly comfortable with what others call the ‘dirty’ feeling you get after not showering for a couple days. My hair is kept very short though, so that isn’t an issue for me.

Every morning and at night I take a bath.
I love living on a well. If I was one of those city folk, forget. Maybe twice a week for showering if I couldn’t get someone at the do it yourself car wash to spray me down with the wand with the last ten seconds of their bay time. Why, yes, I am cheap.

Most mornings but I can easily skip a day if the weather is cool and I’m not doing anything vigorous although I still have to run a tap to do my hair. Mind you I only ever have a long shower when I have tight muscles. I can wet myself, shampoo, lather up with soap and rinse in less than 2 minutes. So even my average shower isn’t that big a deal.

Once a day. Sometimes I skip a day, but I do like to shower, because I can feel a bit crotchety, tired and unmotivated without one.

Teenage girls are extremely paranoid about hygeine and their shower habits being gossiped about, and I think a lot of women carry that into adulthood. The world doesn’t end just because you didn’t shower this morning.

Every second day or so, sometimes less if I don’t feel like it and also don’t feel dirty or stinky, sometimes more if I do feel like it or do feel dirty or stinky.

I don’t always wash my hair either, usually just a couple of times a week. I still condition it when I shower, even if I don’t wash. The thing is, I bleach and dye my hair a lot, and it feels better if I condition it a lot and refrain from washing. Similar to what zweisamkeit said, I’ll get a comment like, “Wow, if you dye your hair so much, how is it still so shiny/soft?” When I explain this, the response is always something like “Wow, I should try that, but I’d never be able to do it… I have to wash my hair every day or else!”

I play racketball 4 times a week. So I get a whirlpool ,sauna and shower at least that often. Then if I am going somewhere I will do one. But I do not feel a desperate need to shower every day. When I was a kid it was once or twice a week.

5, 6, sometimes 7 times a day. Also…

The insecurity… it burns!!!

I shower at least once a day - every morning and sometimes at night. I have to shower before I go to work. I have super curly hair and I look like Medusa when I wake up in the morning. I’ve tried not showering or at least not shampooing daily to control it a bit better, but it only makes it worse. Not showering means I have to use a lot more gel than I would otherwise to control it. And all the gel gives me crunchy hair. It looks ok, but I hate feeling my hair go crunch if I handle it.

If I take a second shower, it’s after a workout or intense yardwork or cleaning. It’s usually more or a rinse off to get rid of sweat, leaves/pollen or solvents and involves soap on only the important, most likely-to-get-funky bits. If I don’t at least rinse after exercise, cleaning or yardwork I break out or my skin begins to sting.

I live in St. Louis, MO.

Same here. I have those long loopy ringlets like Shirley Temple gone mad and I can only comb it in the shower with lots of conditioner on it. Tying it back doesn’t help much because it always escapes again. It takes bedhead to a whole new level.

That’s the exact same type of hair I have. My husband and son call them “boing” curls because they can tug on them and they bounce right back into place like a spring. It looks ok when it’s well managed, but when one (or a dozen) is sticking right out from the top of your head, it’s not exactly a very professional look.
