Friend of mine has been talking to a “will” character for the past 4 months and she’s hooked on him. She likes a new guy “Cesar” but doesn’t know how to get rid of and over the old guy.

If she’s already interested in Cesar, I’d say she’s well on her way of getting over Will.

What’s a “will” character? Some cosplay type stuff?
Kids today have moved from the Goths to the Elizabethans. A “Will” dresses in ruffles and hose and speaks in iambic pentameter.
I have a daughter who has had crushes on various characters: Drake, James&Carlos&Kendall&Logan, Danny Phantom, Ultimo. I don’t think any of them even noticed when she moved on.
Sex.
Has she considered talking to Will directly to try to hash things out? After all, where there’s a Will there’s a way.
Getting rid of the old guy is easy. She calls him and says, “Hey, I like you, but I don’t think we’re right for each other. I hope we can still be friends.” Getting over someone? Do you really ever get over someone? Part of life is having wistful moments of reflection of what might have been. Who among us hasn’t looked up an old flames facebook page even if we’re quite content with our lives and our partner. Regardless, you make a decision and live with the consequences. If she likes Will, then stop bothering with Cesar. If she likes Cesar, then it’s time to end things with Will. So it goes.
Either that, or she doesn’t really like Will.
There have been a few occasions where I have been heartbroken, but then I’ll meet someone new, I’m all like “What was my ex GF’s name again?” in an instant.
All’s well that ends Will.
I think suggesting ending Will is a bit extreme.

I knew a kid named Will back in the day. He had a pet moth named Bob. Bob was a good moth, but he never learned any cool tricks or nuthin. Mostly just hung out in a jar.
