How to gracefully bow out of stripper portion of bachelor party?

[QUOTE=Happy Scrappy Hero Pup]
Like I said, gender differences.

Gotta disagree with ya, you young pup. BTW, I’m male.

A club around here was shut down a couple of years ago because the lap dances were considered too… arousing. In that, they were considered sex acts and the bar was closed for prostitution. It was never clear to me how far the lap dances at that place went, or how common it was for them to go that far. But it makes me uncomfortable to think my SO would be getting one. That’s just me.

Are you sure it was because the lap dances were just too sexual and not because there were actual sex acts going on? Its common at the more seedier clubs for the strippers to work as prostitutes on the side so it wouldn’t be surprising to hear of a club getting shut down because they were performing “extra” services.

I’d think the pants and underwear would prevent fluids from touching anyone but the guy himself. Which is totally his problem, not hers.

Actually, they soak through. The stripper has to clean up, and sometimes change.

The grossness is the attraction, I think. Bachelor parties always seem to be organized around the skeeviest sexual experiences.

That would be my one-time rugby team. Strip clubs were part of the routine, as were gross-out/dare competions that would make “Jackass” pale by comparison. Truly juvenile, usually hilarious, often vomit inducing. Despite being the non-drinker and not participating in the dares, I still have a scar from one of those eveings (I also ended up with a girlfriend from that same evening, but no longer have her).

At some point, though, one reaches the ick point, at which the enjoyment of running loose as a shit flinging monkey is over-balanced by the seediness and juvenality of it all. If someone held a bachelor party for me that included a strip club, I simply wouldn’t attend.

That’s precisely my point. Unless your friend has some perverse desire to be surrounded by people who would rather be somewhere, anywhere, else, you aren’t doing anything for him by showing up.

My apologies; I didn’t mean to come across as holier-than-thou or anything. I just got the sense from the OP that although he wasn’t terribly interested, he also wasn’t necessarily vehemently against it, so my advice would be to just go and deal with it.

Sorry if I sounded like a prick.
