Happy Birthday Li-Li!
Ugh, what a freakin’ ridiculous day. I came into work to find some bullshit e-mails about some BCAs I was working on. I had completed them. The region was trying to say the suspense was the 1st, but I had e-mail telling me the suspense was the 7th. At any rate, I responded professionally, stating they were done and had been forwarded to my boss to present and staff through command. My boss told me not to sweat it.
I was still in considerable pain, my boss noticed and told me to go home. Unfortunately, I had to take my daughter to UW because her bus had driven right past her. She managed to make it to one class today.
I returned from that, only to go to the wrecking yard to remove my daughter’s personal stuff from her totaled car.
I returned from that to find out the battery in my son’s car was dead. I tried to just take the paperwork down to the emissions station so they could do the waiver inspection, but noooooo, I had to bring the vehicle.
I returned home again, and had my son install a new battery in his car and we drove back down to emissions, where they failed us, but gave us the waiver, since we had spent more than 150 bucks diagnosing the problem.
We then drove out to the licensing agency to transfer title and buy tabs. We paid a grand for that car, but their computer said it was worth over 3400 bucks and wanted to charge us tax and license on that. Because Pep Boys didn’t put the cost of the transmission repair down, we had to drive out to another automotive repair shop and wheedle a written estimate out of them. We needed the amount of that, plus the other repairs knocked off the supposed 3400 value of the car.
After they kindly provided that for free, we drove back out to the licensing agency, where we finally succeeded in transferring title and license to me. Another 178 bucks down.
I’ve only been home for the last 15 minutes or so.
All this after getting home initially at a little after 11:00 am. My back is still killing me.
Tomorrow, I report for jury duty. Yay…not. Sigh, I just want this week to be over and for things to go right.
