Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 66 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 for the day. Actually, not too shabby for Summer in south Jawja temp wise.
OYKW is up, purtified, and gone. He has to go monitor one of his nurses on a home visit at six thirty! Ick for him! Ok, ick for the nurse and the person who has a home visit at six-thirty a.m. as well.
lieu I had a baby bluejay like that once. Poor thing fell out of a nest. I donned gloves and very gently picked him up and placed him in some shrubbery. I saw its mama feed it a few times and eventually I reckon he got big enough to fly away.
sari yay for surgery bein’ over. I say take it easy today.
Rockin’ yay for survivin’ the interview. I like Swiss chard.
How you doin’? Oh like y’all didn’t think I would!
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. My day starts out with visits to monitor several local places. Rah!
ETA: MOOOOOOM reported in over on facebook to say Higgs and she arrived safely in Ocala last night.
Unless your little birdy friend’s in immediate danger, just keep half an eye on him and don’t intervene- fledglings often leave the nest when they’re still in the scruffy non-flying stage, it’s fine.
Another sunny day with noisy birds. Just finished a lovely breffest with the cat, following standard protocol:
[ol]
[li]Say “no” firmly and move her away.[/li][li]Ask her to be patient because I’ll save her some.[/li][li]Allow the cat to share because 1 and 2 aren’t working and it’s not like she eats much anyway.[/li][li]Switch to eggs or Cream of Wheat or something I know she doesn’t like.[/li][/ol]
Thanks for the good wishes, y’all. I feel pretty good about the interview because the supervisor took me on a tour of the department and introduced me to someone. I think I hit the right points. Since this is a state job, I was interviewed by two people. One of the questions was something like “You have a difficult time meeting deadlines, but one of your co-workers seems to be able to do a lot more work than you. How would you address this?” My reply was something like “I’d ask this other co-worker to show me how they do it. If that doesn’t work, I’ll ask you if there’s anything I can do to improve. If that doesn’t work, I need to take a look at myself because maybe the job itself just isn’t a good fit.” I also emphasized the fact that I would really like to move up; I don’t want to be a clerk for the next 20 years. I’ll let you know. Meanwhile, I’ve got another job interview lined up for next week.
It’s gloriously sunny and warm today, I can guarantee that it won’t last because I’m off for a four-day trip darn sarf with my doting parent, thus after today it will be bucketing down relentlessly until I get home again.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you, there won’t be a single unstrangled frawg in this part of the world by Monday.
Get well Sari, and you too VBob. Take it easy today, the both of you.
Not much going on here, except that there is a lot of cubicle rearranging and reassignment of people to new desks. And they being really pretty noisy about it.
Pie[sup]2[/sup] that’s good to know. You’re probably not familiar with the 90’s Amurrkin sitcom Friends. Joey, one of the characters, used “how you doin’”, (emphasis on “you”) as a pickup line and/or to flirt. Thus, “how you doin’” became a meme for flirtin’. So, I flirted.
In between meetin’ with folks today so I’m at the orifice for a bit. Rah.
Sorry, no good drugs to bring home Flytrap… I asked but I thin I looked a bit too eager to have them. I think hospitals like to give drugs to people who don’t want them, I’ll have to protest next time and tell them I don’t want any drugs. I think that is the secret to getting the good stuff.
We are having beautiful weather, bright and sunny, in the 60s at night and a high in the 80s during the day. I hope FCM gets back in time to enjoy it.
Back at the orifice after round two of runnin’ all over town. Round three to commence after N.O.L. What a fun day!
I had a voicemail from one of my participants informin’ me that she has decided she does not want to look for a job so she won’t be doin’ that anymore. I called her to tell her I’m sorry she wants to leave the program but I understand if she does not want to work. She tells me she’ll stay at her host agency but she won’t do job search or turn in job search records. I tell her, right, you don’t want to look for a job so you don’t want to work which means you want to exit from services. She says, no she does not want to exit, she just does not want to look for a job. I tell her if she’s not lookin’ for a job, and showin’ proof that she’s lookin’ (job searches are submitted once a month) then she no longer wants our services so I will send in the exit paperwork to make it effective thirty days from today’s date.
She says she’ll continue to look for a job. Amazin’ ain’t it! Have I mentioned lately how mean I am because I expect people to do what they’re supposed to be doin’?
Maybe I should try tellin’ my boss I don’t want to work, but I still want to get paid. Reckon that’ll work?
Mostly packed now for tomorrow- at least the vitals, though I still need a few things from the washing line, and I think I might go buy some new jammies, as mine have seen better days, and one does wind up wandering around the campsite in 'em at these things.
Having fun today, as I just discovered that I don’t have enough of the oral steroids I’ve been given to last the trip, and you really can’t just quit taking them, you need to taper off. Cue phonin’ the doc and trying to get a prescription sorted- which is fun, because they never sent the prescription for the first lot, that was the dermatologist, who I can’t really get hold of. Apparently it should be sorted by tomorrow, but that is cuttin’ it a bit fine.
Also fun is the decision to switch rooms while I’m away (which I’ve been wanting to do for a while as the boiler’s in this room and it’s just too freakin’ hot for me), as the guy I’m swapping with is also away, and both rooms need wallpaper stripping off and damp possibly fixng. Originally I thought he was away for a month and there should be plenty of time, but he may actually be coming back at about the same time as me now, so I’ve no clue how this is gonna work out.
Unfortunately it’s not exactly a holiday for him either, he’s gone to help look after his mother, as she’s got cancer, so no-one wants to get pushy about getting definite plans.
Anyway, I’m shamelessly procrastinating; I should be getting my room tidied or stuff packed or even just making sure the allotment is OK to be left, and I’m just messing around on the internet. I shall go do something useful.
Nuts I could give you a lecture so you’ll go get busy. I am on a roll with stuff like that now. It would be sump’n like this…
Nuts, young lady, have you tidied your room, packed your stuff, and made sure your allotment is ok? No? I didn’t think so. You march yourself right in there and get started this instant. The sooner you start, the sooner you’re done. It’s not going to just get done itself you know. Don’t give me that look! Do you want your face to freeze that way? Now, march right in there and not a peep out of you until you’re done.
Happy Thursday all! Glad everything went okay for you yesterday, Sari; sending healing vibes to you and to BBBBBobbio too - yay for going back to work even if it’s only a half day!
RIP Johnny Winter - I went and listened to “Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo” on youtube.com, followed by “Frankenstein,” just because his passing reminded me of his brother Edgar - wow, that piece is great! What talented brothers, sorry for the world’s loss of Johnny.
We had rack of lamb last night - my daughter saw it and got it in the meat manager’s specials case. YUM! Twas delicious and there are leftovers to have!!!
My friend Michele just had her second round of chemo; please keep her in your prayers. Her spirits are buoyed; she has a great support network and many loving family and friends still any and all prayers will help.
I think I’ll have some turkey today for lunch, and save that lamb for tomorrow. Enjoy the day, all!
