I Don't Have A Topic For This MMP

Jack who? I don’t remember him.
Town does movies in the park. I’m walking near the corner of the path between dusk & full pitch black sky when I make out something; it’s a deer, standing there, watching me get closer. I can make out from the shadow that there’s something above it’s head so I assume antlers on a buck. I’m walking closer & closer & it’s not moving so I cup my hands & ::WHOOMP:: clap real loud but it doesn’t even flinch. Oh, shit, is this a buck defending something & going to charge at me?

As I turn the corner, I get w/in 5’ of it’s back end & the I can see that it’s looking at me & it just has it’s ears up. I swear, if I had a fishing net I coulda bagged it it was so close. (When is the fishing net dear season?)

Up ahead, around the next turn, there were two more that I got w/in 10’ & 15’ of. Brazen damn things!

We had breakfast for supper. Icing knees and almost ready to watch the backs of my eyelids. Is the moon full?

I went to Select-A-Seat at the arena tonight. I wasn’t switching seats, just catching up with friends. And eating free popcorn.

That sucks, Ruble.

Its OK. I’ve worked there the last 2&1/2 years because it was hard work but we had fun as well. If a toxic leader is taking that fun away --------- well, crap happens. I’m old enough and Christian enough not to expect life to be easy or fair. All ya gotta do is look at that cross to understand that.

The advantage to jumping ship early (before being fired) is that a new center may open this winter for our “home deliveries”. If I bounce out and spend some time working out elsewhere, I can always apply to them once they get going. And I already know their leadership ---- its my old leaders from then this place was good.

So all in all, I can’t complain much.
Other than for missing the top of the page, of course.

My bladder woke me at 2:40-something. I’ve been up ever since.

It’s gonna be a loooooooooooong day. <yawn> But at least it’s my Firday.

Happy Thursday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN OK, actually been up a little while as I have ribs and <snerk> butts! <snerk> goin’ in the smoker. ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 87 and mostly cloudy with a chance of rain this afternoon. No matter cause I will be mindin’ the smoker this mornin’ and ironin’ some shirts. Dindin will be ribs so I shall make some baked beans and bake up some sweet N.O.T. I’m thinkin’ corn bread as well.

Ruble that sucks. Sounds like you don’t have to absolutely be there if you don’t want to be there so that’s a good thing.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. I suppose I should purtify up a bit as well. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Good Thorsday all. Been catching up, I gave my brain a day or two off for good behavior.

Ruble, the SF Author Larry Niven coined the phrase “TANJ” for ‘There Ain’t No Justice’. Seems to fit for your situation. Hope it all works out.

doggio, free popcorn is always a good thing.

Sari, I had to grin at the cat getting his (her) comeuppance with the basement tumble. Hope the power stays on this time.

For all the rest of the MMPers, assorted hugs, grins and condolences in abundance as required.

Off to Knoxville in a few hours, the AYSO Section 5 soccer tournament is there this year and I am refereeing 6 games (maybe more) there. It’s a nice little getaway and I can see other players and get yelled at by different parents…<grin> Back on Sunday so I’ll report any interesting (or non-interesting) developments then.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift today.

Happy Thorsday!

Not.

I woke up at 3 and never really got back to sleep.

It was cloudy but now the sun is out. It’s supposed to be a bit cooler today, high of 83 and rain. We’ll see.

Nothing much gong on today.
I foresee nappage after the morning irk shift.

Sucks about the job Ruble.

Have a safe trip MetalMouse.

Happy Smoking Swampy.

Thanks everyone!

On other fronts, the OW has the car in for our pre-trip checkup. And most of the stuff I need packed is out and ready. So early tomorrow morning we’re outa here and Monday is That-Place-That-Will-Remain-Unnamed.
DIGGERLAND!!!

Best of luck with your tournament Metal Mouse!

Have a great time at Diggerland, Ruble!

BUSY BUSY BUSY!! My morning has gone by pretty fast, and amazingly, I’m still awake.

Leftover sketties for lunch and lots more to do this afternoon. And still no rain, alas…

PM me details; mebbe I’ll join you.
In other news, what’s the procedure for changing mumper nicknames? No, not mine, someone else’s - BigKitty’s.
Unless she’s really tall & really, ummm, ‘wide’, she’s not really a BigKitty.
You see, there’s been spottings of a new, outdoor really Big Kitty in the area. No, not a bobcat, or a mountain lion, or puma, or even a Nittany Lion, but a really, really, really Big Kitty.

Riding that into a power line and being electrocuted would be damn embarrassing.

Howdy Y’all! I decided to go ahead and mow da yahd this mornin’ bein’ as rain is predicted over the next two to three days and if’n I waited it would be more like balin’ hay than mowin’. Thus I did and it’s done. <snerk> Butts! <snerk> shall come off the smoker in about an hour. Ribs are all ready off and wrapped up. Most will go in the freezer for future use but some ribs are for dindin tonight. I have made up my infamous doctored canned baked beans. I remembered that I have scalloped N.O.T. leftover from yestiddy so they shall get et up instead of bakin’ sweet N.O.T. I’ve been a bzzy bear this mornin’!

MetalMouse and Ruble y’all have fun and be safe!

I have found that the lifespan does not live up to the hype for CFL’s, the LED’s gives a better light and you get to avoid calling out the HazMat team if you break one of the bulbs.

Flytrap, CFL’s were a short term, stopgap replacement for incandescent bulbs. LED’s are long lifespan replacements that sip power. The biggest issue with them is that they do not produce a lot of waste heat–so the snow on traffic signals does not melt away like it did with older bulbs. Opps!

Thanks for the condolences everybody. We haven’t heard yet about any funeral/wake/whatever. Wifey will inform me when that happens and whether we will attend. It’s 100 miles away, so we’ll see. I detest funerals in general and don’t go iffen I can reasonably get out of it. Also, as much as SIL and I liked each other, her husband and daughters don’t like me much at all.

Ya know, Ruble, Non-christians are also fully aware that life is not fair. Quite often it’s the christians that make it not fair. Just sayin’.

Sorry about the job. I know what it’s like to have new management come in and screw up a good work environment. It’s those damned business school graduates again, I expect. We hates them!

I/we still have some CFLs in the cupboard that I bought when they were on sale. We also have some LEDs that I bought when they were on sale. I’m trying to use up the CFLs where I can before I switch over to LEDs 'cause I’m [del]cheap[/del] frugal. The consarned things last forever! At least around here. I’ve already put LEDs in the places that get a lot of use, like the bathroom, and there’s only a very few places left I can use CFLs. :dubious:

Rosie’s sig to all who needs it.

That is indeed a big kitty and much bigger than lil’ ol’ me.

Metal Mouser Be sure to check the groceries for that weird Oscar Meyer meat you cannot procure at home.

The <snerk> butts! <snerk> are off the smoker and wrapped up. In a while I shall stow them in da freezer. They’re still a bit warm yet. Also, I cleanded the smoker. Go Me! I have been productive enough for one day.
