Strangely enough, I will miss him. I never liked his ill-tempered attacks on other posters, including myself. But I did like his contributions in most threads he posted to. I enjoyed his contributions in language related threads.

Saddens me, too, as he was one of the posters I was looking for when I came back this week. Dammit.

We’ve discussed his reasons. He knows I’d like to see him back here. I respect him too much to nag.
However, if enough of you who also miss him would email him (address should be in his profile) and ask, maybe he’ll reconsider. And then again, maybe not. But it can’t hurt to ask, can it?
For as long as I’ve been here and as much as I read the boards, I’ve somehow managed to not really form any friendships or even acquaintances here. I always thought it would just kind of happen organically like it has in all the other online and real-life communities I’ve ever been involved in, but it hasn’t. I wonder what that says about me.
Point being, I didn’t know most of these people were gone, and I didn’t know a few of them even existed.

What a shame that isn’t. Personally I considered him a bit too able to give it out and totally unable to take it, which combined with his posting my personal contact information on another board in an attempt to incite others to disrupt my mother’s funeral disrupted sort of dispelled my liking of the fellow.
Are you really sure it was him? I know he was nasty to you at a really bad time, but I doubt he did the posting of your information. I think a bigger A-hole did that, one that is comfortably hiding in anonymity.

Absolutely beyond doubt positive. He even posted it under his own screen name.
In fairness to him, the reason he had it was because I had sent it to him in a very angry email at the time sarcastically saying “in case you’d like to give them my address, here it is.” He posted it and I received… well, enough of other boardly matters.
