I searched about for Zenster; is there a thread concerning his banishment?
I do not know him, but thisI found this thread.
The Zenster question, got me reading the thread I found. I just realized that *Fenris ** slipped away back in July. So far listing people I missed has somehow worked to bring them back. Let’s see if three times is a charm.
I miss Fenris, he had incredibly detail knowledge of all of Heinlein’s works. My second favorite author. I really enjoyed his contributions to Sci-Fi threads and I understand he was also popular with the comic book crowd. I hope he returns.

I know there have been several threads closed because of this subject, and I stumbled into this one thinking it was about something else, and posted what I missed. :smack:
When I read the thread all the way through, I realized my mistake, and posted what I did about Zenster, and when I went back and checked Exit’s reference thread, I remembered what happened, and I also remember feeling like a large part of The Dope was lost when Zen got banned.
This is not to say I disagree with the banishment. My friend got his warnings, and according to the rules he was removed from the membership.
What I am saying is that I miss him, and am majorly embarrased for forgetting his nick, but that’s something I will have to live with, and I bet if he could read this, he’d forgive me.
The thing I am trying to get across is what others have said so much more eloquently than I can: many of those people were thinkers in the true sense of the word, and I looked forward to signing on and reading their latest, whether I agreed with them or not.
But rules are rules, and there ya go.
I myself had a “meltdown” and asked to be banned, but some folks here thought enough of me to make that not happen, and so I’m still here, showing my ignorance and learning new things daily.
In conclusion, I miss Zen just as y’all miss your people, but the reason this board has existed as long as it has is because of the rules.
Whether you agree or not, those folks are gone.

Very nicely an eloquently said, but just a small point, many if not most of the people listed in this thread left on their own and were not banned. You probably realize this already and I am misunderstanding your post, but just in case, I thought I would post this.

You are welcome carnivorousplant. Soy Sauce is important, my wife has ensured I do not use those silly caramel colored salt water packets from Chinese deliveries and use at least Kikoman brewed Soy Sauce. You know what she is right, the taste is much better.

Well, yeah, and here’s how my post about Zen happened, more or less chronologically:
- I post my idiot post about my cologne
- I read another thread (name escapes me) which was closed because of the mention of banned members
- I return to this thread, thinking that somehow, something got “worded” which made it “okay” to run a post about members who are “missed” and so…
- I assumed it was “okay” to bring Zensterup in the thread, which…
- Resulted in me posting something that was in violation of what closed the thread in #2 above, and
- Is making me feel more than a little like I’m at the wrong damn party! :smack:
Kinda like a Rube Goldberg invention gone bad, huh?
But anyway, thanks Exit, and I appreciate being able to slip that little bit on Zenster in, even though it was not allowed.
