Count me in!!! I don’t get out much, and I’d love to go. I’ve got enough advance notice that I can put in for vacation time.

I’m up for a short while because s.o. is SNORING zzzzzzzz.
O’Hara’s isn’t a bad idea. There are lots of good restaurants in the area, but O’Hara’s might be easier to find. Sandyr, do you think the gardens will be frozen out by then? They are only about a mile from my house.
Also, the downtown bars will probably be having their Halloween costume parties that night. I could be designated driver, because I don’t drink.
That weekend will work out well for us, because s.o.'s kids aren’t here until Sunday. (We get them every Sunday and every other weekend.)
It’s cool that so many people are interested.
Ad Noctum, we might be able to come get you if you are interested in riding with at couple of old farts. Otherwise, I might be able to talk my middle daughter and her fiance into coming to get you.

That sounds great. I hope all that respond that they’ll go will show. A short jaunt to St. Cloud is no problem for me.
My only concern is the Halloween thing. That usually is a big time for parties and bar hoping with friends/S.O.'s to show off and see different costumes here in the cities. It falls on a Tuesday this year, meaning that the Friday and Saturday before will be the bigger celebrating day.
I’d vote for the weekend after that. I’d like to stick around for parties and whatnot that have yet to be planned. It’d also be fun to hear from others what they went as and saw in different cities the weekend before.
To assure the best turnout, I think a benign weekend when nothing is going on around the state would be the best.
I hope this works, I’d like to meet some of the people who occupy this board.
Outside of the Halloween thing, when and where is no problem for me.
This is a college town, and during the school year it does sometimes get rowdy. We’ll have to make sure that SCSU Homecoming is not on the weekend we finally choose.
The weekend after will be a kid visitation weekend for us, so might be a little more difficult for me; less likely that I would have people over here.
Wouldn’t you know it? I’m taking my son to Florida Oct 25-Oct 29, so I’ll miss the get-together.

Not speaking for anyone else here, but I think the planners are trying to find a date that most people can make.
Like I said before, I’ll be open for any date, outside of Halloween. So. don’t worry about me.
If it takes a while or will be later than most want, than so be it. I’d rather wait a while to go to a party where more will be able to attend than slap one together fast and have most miss it (My personal opinion).

The next date with no visitation conflicts is 11 November, aka Veteran’s Day (yay, me!), aka the 60th anniversary of the Armistace Day blizzard. After that is Thanksgiving, then the wind-up towards Christmas.
So.
11 November it is. In case of inclement weather it will be postponed indefinitely.
Spill, Spidey - what other restaurants are you thinking of? The Granite City is very good but also very noisy - I don’t recommend it for a get-together. Angus McGee’s? Anton’s?
What about D. B. Cearl’s(sp?)?
Or is that too ‘bar’ish’ or ‘college’ish’?

I live in Minneapolis and I have a fine vehicle in working condition and would gladly chauffeur anyone (up to three passengers) who could at least get to downtown MPLS/Loring Park area, could also pick up on the north side of town on the way out to St. Cloud.
Wow i haven’t been to DB Searles since i was 7 years old. But I have no preference on time or place.
the 28th? That’s the saturday before halloween, big party weekend, but it would still work for me.

I kind of like Mexican Village, but that may not be to everyone’s taste, and O’Hara’s is probably easier to find.
November 11 would be another no kid weekend (except for Sunday) for us, so that would be fine with me also.
What do other Dope Fests consist of? Do they go on a tour of the city, or just mainly socialize or what?
