dammit.
What do I buy with 1000 quatloos? Quatro loos or four terlets?
Howzabout 3 lbs of HE & a medium range ballistic missile, one that’ll deliver a 3 lb HE payload to Arrgh-Kansas? How much will that set me back?
Today is most annoying.
The power went out, just long enough that the clocks need to be reset. That is my son’s job though, I don’t do clocks. However, the damn flashing gets on my nerves.
The cat is being a pest. I mixed a jar of treats in with his cat food, now he is pestering me non-stop for food. He has food in his bowl, he just wants me to put in more so he can pick out the treats.
Ripple finally went back to sleep. He usually sleeps until 10ish in the mornings, but he woke early today, full of vim and vigor, wanting to play.
The biggest annoyance is that my son is supposed to register for his classes today. Registration opened at 8am. At first all the class searches came back with the message that no classes meet his search criteria. Now he can find the classes he wants, but when he tries to enroll he gets the message that it is past the enrollment date. The problem is, there is an English class he has to take and there are only 19 seats available. So here we sit trying to get in over and over so he doesn’t get shut out. Their system is so fucked up anyway, finding stuff is impossible. He wanted to take the Global Business class but it is not listed under the B search, it was not under the G search, it is under the I search for International Business. It’s a damn business class, at least put a cross reference under the Business heading.
It was so much easier to register at the community college, everything was laid out logically.
Why do you want 3 lbs of Helium??
I protest **swampy **getting preference over me! I’m being kept down by The Man!! It’s a plot, I tell ya!!! I suspect Moderator favoritism!!! A pox upon you, I say!!!
OK, fine. I see how it is.
I have had a craving for pizza for a week but no time to go get one. Well I got one today. Yummy.
There’s a thousand quatloos riding on this!
Ahhhhh, an evil plot to make us think. You devious fellow!
Yesterday ---------- I didn’t relate this but early on we needed to make a run up to Grove City. From the time we left our street it seemed like we always had at least one, if not more, cars from Ontario around us. After the first 10 miles we actually started keeping track. We lost count at 35 different vehicles and with ones before and after our guess was 50.
What the heck? Did Canada invade? Are we going to have to shoot Midget an e-mail to protect ourselves from the Overly-Polite-Version of the KGB? This is in like 40 minutes so we’re talking over one “foreigner” a minute!!!
Then this morning I found out why.
The Maple Leafs were playing the Flightless Birds here. And huge numbers of their fans came for the game. :smack:
They were heading back north to Toronto and general area about the same time we were heading out.
The extra ammunition I got out has been put away. ![]()
Actually we’re in a big lull now. My opinion is that with the elections tomorrow and everyone waiting for the coming sales, no-one is ordering much from Da Jungle. We’re off about 40% in volume.
(I never played favorites between Father Bear and Mother Mooom so I figure I better respond to both.)
Probably natural gas. Those booms tend to make a lot of toothpicks.
Great. Now I’m going to have a mental image of Swampy wearing a leather teddy and holding a whip all day. :smack:
Actually I can’t really do HE. Not really recommended for a front-loader unless your goal is to shake hands with Jesus. That whole rammer thing ------- just not good. ![]()
You don’t want to know how many dozens of pounds of .69 and .75 balls I have around for grape though. Did some canister loads of buck and the devastation was cool ------- but not like a bag of grape.
(Revealing more about my free time than anyone wanted to know.)
Actually, Helium is He (small ‘e’); iffn it were me, I’d inflate (part of) a balloon with it. I passed gas three times in the past 10 days; two of 'em were straight out of the TT tubes.
Are those two things related or non-sequiturs, as in, they retreated so you didn’t need to use all of it?
Yup, 'zactly. Though it was over two miles away, as a crow would go, & we were inside!
I thought gold lamè thongs were bad. There ain’t enough of this to get that outta my haid.
I win! Huzzah! Rejoice, all ye peasants, rejoice, I say!
I have spiffed da cave and then went to get a very long (HEE!) overdue haircut. Thus I am shorn and sanitary. ‘Tis all gloomy and cloudy out, but warmish. Really feels like it should be stormy. Oh, and trash pickup was early this mornin’ so I have even hauled my neighbor’s and my biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans back from the road to where they live. I feel so productive today.
Someone on the board pointed out that damage is more likely to be a gas tank rupturing than blowing up. The house I saw destroyed didn’t have any burn marks anywhere around it, and the tank was gone.
I hate it when Mom and Dad fight.
Wait! What? There’s sales after elections? Is it gonna be like Black Friday?
I suppose it actually could. ![]()
That’s always been my image of Swampy
I also got a haircut yesterday. Now I look less like an English sheep dog.
I need to make some more soap today, and all this week if possible. (Dentist tomorrow, so that may not be possible.) I signed up for a holiday bizarre again this year over at the cultural center. IIRC, We made $500-$600 last year, so it’s worth the trouble.
Anyway, Happy Moanday.
Hey, it there’s a thousand quatloos…
My image of Swampy is still a guy gleefully shredding time sheets. :dubious:
I didn’t think you celebrated Guy Fawkes over your side of the pond ![]()
Everything’s going boom over here today; I even went to an actual Official Display in town. It was WWI themed, which was a bit odd. Complete with air raid sirens and the most local-centric speech about how big a deal the war was in this town, how people from this town coped, how important this town was for the war effort and how many people from this town died, with literally not a mention of the zillions of others who weren’t in this town. It honestly made it sound like it happened here and entirely here. Weird.
Nut, given the losses Britain took 1914-18, I guess it left a memory everywhere. Been in several local churches around the country and each church, large or small, had a listing of who had died in the 'Wars" (I and II).
Nothing much accomplished, but I have big plans for tomorrow. Glad I posted in swampy’s part of the thread (mostly cause it was the first one I saw) so i can have braggin’ rights.
Bumba, I always see swampy as some laid-back old Southern gentleman always dressed, if not expensively, at least with a sense of taste and class.
We have supped upon beef-veggie soup 'n cornbread. A nice sup for a gloomy day. Now we await the deluge TWPTB say shall occur.
Metal Mouse that’s me. Suave, sophisticated, stylish with couth and class out the wazoo!
Well, there’s something out of the wazoo there, but…
Have eaten sammiches tonight and am awaiting the ‘strong storms’ predicted for late this evening into the early morning. Other than that nothing much.
I see that swampy won the race.
I irked half a day today, then took off to go to the retinapathist. 'Twas a beautiful drive (Google takes me the back way) but I took less than backroads home, which may be a mile or so longer, but about ten minutes faster because the roads are straighter and flatter. I am now able to read a monitor but the eyes are still a little dialated and everything looks bright.
I’m having issues with the washing machine. I hope that it was just overloaded. It kept repeating the rinse cycle. After an hour and change, I stopped it, pulled some clothes out, hand wrung them and threw them in the dryer (at least I’ll have some clothes for irk tomorrow
). Then I unplugged the washer, plugged it back in and set it to spin and drain. Keeping appropriate appendages crossed.
Home, cooked, et and finally down for the night. I is Tahred. This here time change has messed me up already. Why can’t they just leave things alone? It is asinine. Grumble.
You may want to use some of that excess supply of TP that you’re hoarding because I’m not so sure that it’s couth & class you have comin’ out the wazoo. :o
I is under the weather, & the blanket(s). ![]()
