I'm Up So I'll Start The MMP

I voted!!! My polling place is in a church on my way to irk. We were given 59 minutes to vote which was nice. I will also be glad to not have to watch/listen to all those commercials.
Other than voting I have not accomplished much of anything thus far.
Blurf

I am happy that I already voted and do not have to go out in the mess today.

I am sitting here wondering what the horrible smell is.
Ripple is sleeping on the couch next to me.
Ripple stole a menthol cough drop off my desk last night.
What I am smelling is menthol laced dog farts.

Last night’s music lesson was a misc catagory.
Every man music, Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp.
Blue-eyed soul music, Hall and Oates, which I always heard as Hauling Oats and thought what a weird name. I never liked them anyway. Not that I dislike soul music, I just don’t like their music.
I can’t remember the other catagories, I fell asleep while my son was reading to me.

A weather alert just came across my phone. 45 mph wind gusts this afternoon. Wait for it. 1-2 inches of snow on Thorsday. I am NOT AMUSED.

Ugghhhh… I’m still alive.

On Saturday, Romeo Jr. came down with the stomach thing Juliet Jr. had on Halloween. That was a pleasant mess. The best part was that he exploded out of both ends while at a restaurant. He was still a bit out of it on Sunday, but recovering.

Then yesterday, I woke up feeling not so great. And it got worse as the day progressed. Romeo was getting the kids ready for the day while I hugged a toilet, then all of a sudden, I hear retching somewhere in the house. Turns out, Romeo was puking in the kitchen garbage can. So we shipped the kids off and both stayed at home, slowly dying. But we’re both “leave me alone” kind of sick people. So he camped out downstairs and I camped out upstairs.

But I made it through. A bit dehydrated, but still kicking. And I voted today. #55 at about 7:30.

Lunch break!!

Yesterday, **FCD **got a summons for jury duty. Fortunately, it’s not till after we get back from vacation - phew! Oddly enough, a coworker came to me today and asked about the work policy for jury duty - she’s up next week. I’ll be very surprised if they seat her - she’s Colombian and she’s got a very thick accent. But we shall see.

Got a lot done this morning, but I may run out before the day is done. And tomorrow, I’ll get in late because I have to have blood drawn and the place doesn’t start till 7:30. It’s got to be fasting bloodwork, so it will be done first thing!

I would not be amused either.
Glad you are still alive Juliet.

I need to get up and get some stuff done since I got next to nothing done yesterday.

The sun just came out, there is some good news for the day!

I always think of it as Erection Day; no matter who wins I’ll probably end up screwed one way or another.
Doggie ---- the really good ones are the kind that make the squeeking noise when you squeeze them. Fold one in half, lube with some Crisco, and run a heavy charge. It makes its own sound effects as it flies through the air.

Kona, our senior dog, ate something at the dog park and has been shitting all over the place (to be blunt). I’ve tried easing him onto soothing foods, but that didn’t work, so it’s off to the vet. Blergh.

I’m off to vote as soon as I clean up this latest mess. I may not sleep tonight. I can’t recall ever being this interested in an election.

& they’re all a bunch of D____; even the wimen on the various ballots.

You are a seriously warped & twisted individual…& that’s why you’re one of my favorite Mumpers.

Sari, your morning post shoudl have gone in the Monthly rants thread, it is a thing of beauty.

Juliet, hope you and Romeo are feeling better; two sick parents with two young children don’t get all that much rest (any family you can farm them out to for a day?).

Sunny, between you and Sari with the dogs and Juliet being sick as one, sometimes living all by myself is not a bad thing.

FCM, if FCMM survives the perils of the Amazon, let me know how she enjoyed it. With China completed I’m a little at loose ends for places to go and I’d like to know if she thinks that trip is worth it.

Voted about 9:30am to let everybody get to work, but it was still pretty crowded and people were filling the parking lot about as fast as they were leaving. Voted Democratic, not that it may matter here in Ali-bama, but maybe we can shake things up a bit by being close.

Talked to my Edward D. Jones rep, decided to move some cash into a 3-month CD (Bank of China no less) at 2.25%. Outside of that everything looks good.

68F and sunny. Beautiful looking day.

Just under 2 hours to go today, and I’m out of work. Dammit. I’ve asked for more - we shall see how that goes.

Thanks for the well wishes, Metal Mouse. We’re doing better today, and yesterday the kiddos went to school/daycare for the day. Then we had movie night after dinner. I’m still a bit run down, but I can handle that. (BTW, totally jealous of your weather. It’s like 37 and rainy. I don’t mind rain. I don’t mind cold. I hate cold barely-above-freezing rain.)

Tonight will be lasagna. I prepped one on Sunday, but I was in no shape to eat cheesy, tomato-acidy lasagna yesterday.

I am glad you are doing better, and do not wish to appear a smart alec, but is “I prepped one” correct, rather than “I prepped some”?

One lasagna. Some lasagna is a portion of one lasagna.

Home. I have voted! Most of the voting tables were full, but it moved right along and I really didn’t have to wait. Dunno what we’ll do for supper, tho. Bowls of cereal?

Mega Blurf. I am ready to go home in about a half hour. Can’t come soon enough. Got to get home to watch the election returns. I foresee a late night. I should have took the day off tomorrow but I didn’t so I will drag in.

Went to the dentist this morning and got my new tooth (implant). Cost me just under $2k, but now I can chew on both sides of my mouth. Went to a luncheon where the speaker was the, now retired, baseball couch from Oregon State. Most of his talk was boilerplate rah-rah drivel, but he’s a nice enough guy, and the food was pretty good. Now I need to go pick up some prescriptions and some veg to go with a pot roast for dinner. And that’s my day. Good thing too, my guts are revolting.
Not an unusual occurrence, unfortunately, and not connected to the election, which I plan to ignore for as long as possible.
We have vote by mail here in Orygun and we voted already, so there’s that. We’re looking forward to the end of the particularly egregious political lying on our TV.

Happy toosday y’all!

And I just finished replacing the headlights on my Sonata. If you have big hands, you’d have a helluva time getting them in place. Turns out my right light burned out, but replacements come in pairs, so I replaced them both. Yay for lights!

Supper is grab whatever. I’m having cereal.

First thing I did after work was vote. I’m pleading with God to make people be sensible and not vote for Kris Kobach for governor.

I’ve seen a guy take off the front end of a CRV to replace headlights. I can fit my hands in, but I can’t see the damn thing. It burned out again in a matter of months, and I had it done at the garage. The socket had “burnt up”. I don’t know if I caused the problem with my blind install or not.

Sup has been consumed. All is well, except I am sleepified.

Bumba I prefer a football recliner over a baseball couch.
