In Honor of Labor Day, the FAQ MMP

Apparently everyone was banned for a couple of hours this morning, but we’re all back now. Some are blaming Marley, since he’s our newest Admin. I blame Qaddaffi, just because I think he’s an idiot.

I blame Leonid Brezhnev and the Central Committee getting me back for all the stuff I smuggled to the kinfolk. Especially the Black Sabbath albums.

OK - they’re mostly dead. But that still keeps them suspect in my book.

I was banned too!! I was trying to figure out WTF happened. I’m so glad it wasn’t just me!

Bobbio Glad to hear it!! PB Thought maybe I was bein’ a little too bossy!

Rebo I’m afraid this reboot thing is gonna haunt us both, isn’t it?

It’s payday, so we went out for lunch, and we’re going out for coffee with a friend in a little while. Pretty quiet 'round Casa Andc0 otherwise, except my mother nearly got eaten by an alligator this weekend!

In Ohio?

:stuck_out_tongue: No, she lives in Florida. Her and Daddy went camping & they went Canoeing and they hit a rough spot, and Mom had to get out of the boat and here comes a big 'ol gator swimming up with it’s mouth wide open and Dad was more concerned with getting a picture then the fact that Mom was in the water with it!! (He also says it wasn’t that close.)
But she survived the encounter! L

Bwa-ha-ha!!!

Seems I was irkin’ away at the orafice when the mass banning happened. Looks like I missed out on all the fun.

Welcome aboard, Fill! The more the merrier here in the MMP!

Moooooom, I hope your hubby is feeling better soon. I still marvel at how you get more done in an afternoon being all 'tired than many of us accomplish all week.

Today’s sammich supper was a lovely Capicolla & Swiss with mayo and kosher dill pickles on the side. For dessert, I had a box of Barnum’s Animal Crackers. Pure comfort food as Animal Crackers were my favorite treat as a little boy even if the lions were a little scary.

We’re a day closer to the weekend. Yay!

Bri2k

PapaJohn is making supper, since I have to drive down that way anyway. Daughter is on her way here, and I’ll be taking her to get her car, then I’ll get supper. Yay for no cooking.

I need to do a little sanding and touch-up paint, then I can put my cabinets back together. Then I can put my crap away. That’ll bring my studio one step closer to being usable. Finaly.

Raining again. I’m pretty tired of this. At least it’s not snow…

I was mostly banned. I’m off to the Bistro for a meeting and trivia. On a sad note, one of the Canes ex-players was on that Russian jet that crashed.:frowning: That’s most of what’s been on my Facebook page today.

Oh, that’s sad,** Doggio.**

The brother of a good friend of my son’s died on Monday. He was hiking or climbing up by Snoqualmie and fell 100 feet. He was still semi-conscious when one of his friends got to him, but fell unconscious and that’s when that friend spent 30 minutes doing CPR on him before the rescue chopper got there. He didn’t make it. He suffered multiple injuries.

Very sad. He was a well liked person and only 21 years old. Well rounded kid, loved the outdoors, was on the crew team for the University of Washington and was carrying a 3.3 GPA in the coursework for his major. There will be a service for him on Saturday.

He was actually in my daughter’s high school graduating class, but she didn’t really know him.

I have to go pay a visit to my neighbor this evening and I’m not looking forward to it. She left a message on my machine last night saying my dogs had gotten into her yard and tore something up. She wants help paying for it. I’m not quite sure what they tore up. I’m not quite sure when it occurred, because on Saturday I completely blocked up their escape routes with 16X16 pavers. I’m kind of wondering why she didn’t call before Saturday. At any rate, I guess I’ll find out this evening.

On the one hand, it’s my responsibility to pay for it if my dogs did it. On the other had, I can’t begin to tell you how many of my plants her kids have destroyed and I never asked for a dime. That irks me a little.

Stoooopid tornado, between me and Mooooooooom.
:grumble:

Taters. bring a list of what her kids did, and tell her you’ll call it even.

Nope, that won’t work. She’s the neighbor that had to pay for my daughter’s rear car window when her little twerp kid was throwing rocks at our retaining wall and one rather large rock bounced off the wall and shattered my daughter’s window.

She ponied up and paid for it. She didn’t have a choice, because one of the other neighbors ratted her kid out. To give her credit, she took care of it immediately.

I tried calling her a bit ago and she isn’t home yet. I just want to find out what the hell she thinks my dogs did.

Got 6th place in trivia. Off tomorrow, just gonna chill.

Sorry about your friend’s kid, Taters.

Hello all! I’ve just been chillin’ and lurking lately. Not much going on with me, really. laughs A big excursion for me is to the grocery store, which I did today (it’s senior discount day!). I did forget a few things so will have to return there on Saturday. Unfortunately, I will -not- get a discount on what I forgot!

I’ve got to find a hardware store that will make duplicate house keys - we haven’t gotten a duplicate set yet, and boy is that a disaster waiting to happen. I also haven’t been back to the community center yet, that will happen on Friday. I’m also going to call the teacher of the pottery class to see when is a date for her (since I’m not going to make it on Thursday tomorrow!) and to find out exactly what I’ll need for the first class.

My daughter and I, in addition to going to the grocery store, went to the Dollar Tree store today - where everything is a dollar! Unfortunately, this also causes us to go somewhat berzerk and buy a wee bit much! I had a big mixing bowl on my list, but didn’t find one there today, drat it.

I hope everyone is doing okay. Rosie’s .sig to all, and LiLi, thinking good thoughts for you and the twins.

Not even up?

Don’t laugh, but I can’t throw up.

All this talk of Dolores Reboot… one for the Big Iron fans: Dolores IPL.

An Initial Program Load is what happens when you first power up a mainframe.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 63 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 84 today. It’s a heat wave! Well, compared to the past three days it is. It’ll be in the low 90’s again by the weekend. Big whoop cause I have to irk Sattidy. It’s one of those community health fair things and only lasts four hours. Still, on Sattidy!

Taters sorry about your son’s friend’s brother. Sad. Hope the neighbor situation worked out well.

Herbs by coincidence, my mom goes to the grocery sto’ on Wednesday cause of senior discount day.

I missed the mass bannage! All the fun happens when I’m not around.

Ok, I need more caffiene and some brekkie for a very rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

For about a year after my gastric bypass, I couldn’t burp because there was not enough volume to get one going.

IPLs - you bring back bittersweet memories. I wrote a couple Back In The Day. I also ran a PDP 11/45 system for a while, and the IPL had to be manually keyed. I constantly fat-fingered it, and longed for EPROMs to hold it instead.

Swampy, irk? On a Sattiday?  Da noive of some peeples!!!

And a metric buttload of blurfs for good measure.

Tomorrow is a local holiday; tonight I’m off to ChocolateLand for an interview. One of my coworkers (who’s been in this job less time than I have) has already quit, today is his last day; at least another one (the Finance guy - who, as it usually happens, is quite allergic to change compared with the rest) has been cursing the job more and more mightily each day.

We’re simply not a good fit for it; we’re all the kind of person who like seeing our work’s results, negotiating, speaking with the people who need our work so we can provide the best design - and here, we’re paid to sit on our asses and read the newspaper while creating a lot of very-long documents which are so much hot air. With so many people out there who would love this job, why oh why give it to us? I’d even told my agent it didn’t sound like a good fit…

Sounds like ChocolateLand would be a better option, then, right?

Hugs to all - way too many losses. :frowning:

Trying not to catch a cold. It’s annoying me.

Off to work…

Hugs.
