In Praise Of Mumpers A Pat On The Back Mmp

That’s exactly what I’m looking for. THANKS! :stuck_out_tongue:

Woo! First on 5!

taxi, if you can’t get good fashion advice from swampy, who else is there?

Critters are fed, and I’m still home alone (did I mention that earlier?) No idea when anyone is getting here, so I expect supper will be late. Sheesh…

What can I say. When it comes to fashion I’m a natural.

{{{Soapy}}} Here’s hopin’ things get better for ya.

Hope everything gets better for everyone who’s bluesin’…

It sure is hard to type with cat feet on the keyboard.

Home from the gym. I’m just too old for this. I tell myself that after every workout, and yet I keep going back.

Swampy, are you gonna make it to a hockey game this year? Season opener is October 24. Wish it was sooner.
Guess I’d better go do some laundry or I’ll show up nekkid for my first night on 3rd shift.

Didn’t read last two pages. Sue me. Turned off my alarm in my sleep this morning and was almost an hour late to work. Thank god it was our late day. Am very tired and now have 2 yards of mulch on my driveway. I asked for one, but since it’s free, I’m not complaining–it’s just a LOT of mulch.

I was sitting on the family room floor yesterday, flatironing my hair in front of the TV when I dropped the flat iron into my lap and burned my innermost thigh. Hurts like a mother, believe me.

Nothing else to report except something my MIL did which really pissed me off, but she hasn’t tried to pull in like 10 years. Not sure what to do about it, and am too tired to really address it now. Grrr.

My SIL is getting married in September, and based on what I’m hearing from my MIL, it sounds like SIL is in for a doozy of a MIL. And they all (SIL, my in-laws, and SIL’s in-laws-to-be) all live in the same town. And SIL is planning a family… if they’re fun when it’s wedding time, I can’t wait to hear about how much fun they are when it’s baby time.

That and rig’s post about her MIL “fun” make me very glad that 1) I have very laid-back in-laws and 2) they live 5 hours away. And not near my parents.

Snakes I need to this year. I know I keep sayin’ that but I do need to get up there for a game.

I make good chicken sallit. Just thought I’d let y’all know.

I have the cure for everyone who’s sad:

A baby picture!

I told everyone dinner would be at 6. It’s 6:05. No one is home. Daughter called a few minutes ago from WalMart - they were running late  Husband called over an hour ago - he wasn’t that far away, but he’s not here yet.

I timed dinner so it would be ready around 6.

I am not happy.

I should just go out to dinner myself and let them deal with it themselves.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks… not so bad, just a bit of a disappointment.

Spaz- beautiful brand new baby! A cure for what ails ya’!

Rigs and Mooom- wet trouts for the relevant parties.

Chix cacciatorre with linguine for supper time. mmmmmm

MOOOOOM throw dindin out in the front yard and tell 'em that’s where it is when they all come home hungry. I’ve never actually seen anyone do this but I’ve heard it threatened. It would be an interesting experiment. You could report back to us the results.

There’s a thread on worm farms. Y’all should read it. Fascinating stuff! Duck Duck Goose is a worm farm font of information! Like I said in that thread, there indeed appears to be a doper expert for any conceivable topic. Yet another reason I lurve this place.

ETA: AWWWWWWWWWWWW what a lil’ ol’ cutie he is Spaz!

hooray for new babies!!

The second cutest kid I ever saw.

Aw, what a lil’ cutie-pie, Spaz! To think we all started off that new and teeny and stinkin’ cute… kind of mind-blowing, huh? Welcome, baby Graham. I love that name so much.
As for me, I cleaned the closet, cleaned the house, set up my terrarium, spent too much time here on the Dope in between… I got my exercising/dancing in while cleaning, I just cranked my music and went with it - I think that counts as exercise!

Unfortunately, after getting myself cleaned up, looks like I’ve only got about an hour left to get groceries, make soap, look at small mammals, go for a drive, catch up on my DVDs, write that novel(s - I got three ideas on the go, argh). Ah, well. I’ll get those groceries, and the Monte needs gas. I can still make soap when my bubby gets home, I just can’t concentrate on writing when he is around. The rest, ahhhh, I can save that for another fun filled day off.

Maybe I should get a frog for the terrarium? Hmm. Have to do some research.

Home and about to be off to book club. Haven’t read the book, really, but wanted to see everyone.

Just ate cheater’s egg foo yong and an apple.

Very cute baby, Spaz! And excellent name.

Hugs to Soapy and everyone else who needs 'em.

Yes…Shasta was from here…now that you mention it, I remember the story. Or maybe we both imagined it.

Back later…

GT

I have a frog (White’s Tree Frog/Dumpy Frog). I know basic frog things.

I had a frog in college. Aiden was a keeeyooot little frog; he lived mostly under water and hopped to the surface for air.

Shasta (I remember that too!) just start a thread askin’ for help about what kind of frog to keep in a terrarium. If we have a doper expert on worm farms, we’re sure to have an expert or two on frogs in a terrarium.

Well, we just heard back from the vet and it’s official, SpaceDawg has cancer. Probably bone cancer, but whether it was originally tissue or bone origin is meaningless now because it’s all up in her shoulder and the bone is pretty much destroyed. They say that in about 80% of cases like hers the cancer goes into the lungs, which shortens the prognosis considerably. At this point all we can do is control her pain until it’s no longer possible to do so, spoil her rotten and make her last time as good as we can. Vet says it could be anything from two weeks to two months, he says judging by her general condition and otherwise robust health he thinks probably longer unless the lungs get involved.

We’ve decided to have her cremated and bury her under her favorite maple tree when the time comes, and I’ll have a Japanese style gravestone made–I’ll need to find the kanji for “space” and “dog” to carve on it. I’ve never seen Himself cry like that–he’s the tough guy who can handle anything, but apparently not this.

I’m glad it’s summer, she loves her backyard in summer.

{{{SmartiePants and Himself}}} Y’all have given SpaceDawg a wonderful and loving life. That’s all we can do for our pets. She knows she’s cared for and loved. May her remaining time be pain free, happy and fun.

I wanted to let y’all know that I did finally finish up the work pile. Go me.
