I leave myself notes - a favorite place is on the door to the garage when I need to remember to take something. I also have to set timers when I’m doing laundry, since I can’t hear the washer or dryer beep from the basement.
Just finished my salad. I’ve got the pellet stove fired to take the chill out of the air. I tried to turn on the furnace, but it just smelled funny and wouldn’t fire. I sent off a few requests for estimates for servicing. Plus I looked up DIY furnace servicing - I’ll talk to **FCD **about it when he gets home.
Not everything on the list got done. We got distracted at Half-Price Books where we became the proud owners of 76 volumes of the Lake Classic series published one a year around Christmas time. About half will be keepers and the rest will be passed along after they are read. But at like $2.50 or less per volume I just couldn’t help myself. Some seriously cool histories are among them.
Tomorrow catching up and The Do List Part Deux ---- Monday I return to Da Jungle and can rest up.
With most people, when you say they’re “Full of Shit” it’s an insult; however, with our Swampy it’s apparently a descriptive term. :o
You Whooshed a terlet? What joke did you tell it?
How is that even a question? There’s more doubt to, “Is the sky blue?”
Termorrer, iffn it’s not too windy, I shall get up very early, go to a church & be uplifted…
…literally.
What? We’re using their field as our launch point.
Iffn it is too windy, I have not one, not two, but three 5k’s to participate in…all at the same time. :smack:
My f[del]r[/del]iend is singing the national anthem at one of them. Imma thinking of taking a knee just before she starts. Not in political protest but just to razz her.
I just cut up a bunch of doggy treats for bedtime doggy snacks. When she gets in her crate, she gets a couple of little bribes before bed. The jar was almost empty, so I refilled it. Then I had pie. Life is good.
We are back with the RV. Tomorrow, when it is light, I shall be backing it into it’s new spot. Right now it’s out on the street, shocking the neighbors.
Swampy what is CRS?
Pepper gets a treat for her crate too. I feed her in the crate too. She has the routine down. Her food bowl goes into the crate and she immediately goes to her treats and sits and looks at me. She doesn’t move until I grab a treat and toss it into the crate too. Silly pup. Or is that trained me?
Of course the question I should ask is will anyone actually see this tonight…? :smack:
That depends on how late you [del]party[/del] stay up w/ the new toy.
Back to bed (for a bit) with me; as forecast, the zebra is angled (too windy). But before I do…it’s now October…time to close the last winder…its frickin’ COLD in here!!! (I did manage to have one open for all of Sept, no heat or A/C at all.)
Higgs is Pavlovian Response in action. When the TV is turned off, it makes a distinctive click. Upon hearing that, Higgs runs into her crate and waits for her treat. As she’s inhaling it, the door is closed (we don’t have to latch it any longer) and it’s officially bedtime. It’s kinda funny because if we turn off the TV during the day, she hears the click and looks at us expectantly.
I woke at 4:30 again, and I watched some bad TV till about 5:30. Yanno, The Monkees really was a terrible show! It was like bad burlesque skits wrapped around a really awful premise. But I can see why my 13-y/o self loved it - they were cute and funny and I wasn’t paying enough attention to know that they weren’t playing their instruments - at least in the early shows.
Anyway, I got up, tended to the critters, made a quiche (which is still in the oven,) did the dishes, cleaned the cat box, and now I’m caffeinating and waiting for my breakfast (quiche) to be done. It was 48° when I got up, so I’m glad I closed the house last night.
A little later this morning, I’ll do the raking I’ve been avoiding and I’ll plant the pansies. Lilies won’t be moved today unless I get an amazing rush of energy. Anyone wanna place a wager on that happening?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 78 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. October 1st and it’s actually actin’ like Fall around these parts. This is our new Priest’s first Sunday so I anticipate a largeish crowd. I have ush duty yet again. The corn casserole is on the kitchen counter and will be nuked in a while. I want it to get room temp before it goes in the nukelator.
Sunny CRS means can’t remember sh!t.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall clean and dust. And walk Gordie 7 or 8 times.
Gordie has one treat jar, filled with Kroger all purpose 5 flavor mini dog cookies. He seesm to prefer those to other treats(apart from chicken and bacon).
Mooom, Nelson has palovian responses as well. Daytime is a little confusing for him on the weekends, as it not only varies from the workday routine, but varies from weekend to weekend as well.
I meed to make a Tar-jay run today. I should finish up taking down the patio garden, but we’ll see.
Samantha mews at me every night at 10 to let me know it’s bedtime.
I HAVE CAMEO APPLES! :D:D:D I went to the nearby orchard this morning and got a whole peck for $12 which is about the same as the at the big farmer’s market price-wise but much less expensive travel-wise. Plus I got to pick my own at the orchard. A++ will be going back before the end of the month.
I’ve showered and dressed and I planted 3 dozen pansies. The sprinkler is going out front - it’s been so dry lately, I don’t want the things I transplanted to die. I’ll be dragging it around the various beds till they all get good drinks.
But that’ll be the extent of my activities, methinks…
Litter box is clean. I dusted and did a load of laundry. Headed out to the local French market. I hope there is a crepe stand. Tonight the original Dracula is on TCM so I plan to scare myself. I never drink. Wine.
Drinking coffee. Shortly I shall attack the trailer moving. After that should follow dog park, laundry, pet store, grocery store, and then leaving for CA for more medical stuff.
Made scrambled eggs with Salsa Verde, hash-browns, and bacon for brunch. Doing a load of towels. My PC just suggested “Browncoats” as an alternate spelling for has-browns. It knows me well.
