Indian Summer MMP

Insurance greed is one reason why Evil Hospital is Evil. Even if they will be giving me a paycheck after next week.

There you have it.

Not going to get into the Health care argument since I agree that (1) Our system (such as it is and what there is of it) is a mess and (2) I for one have no idea how to fix it.

On ordering pants, now that I can comment on. <grin> I’ve ordered Blue Jeans on-line with success, but slacks i still prefer to go to the store and try on. Currently my inventory stands at 6pr Jeans, 4pr Cargo Pants, and 4pr slacks.

As for Indian Summer, we won’t have the first frost here until January or so, so the term has less meaning down South, but it is getting into the 70’s this week for the highs, so I guess this counts as Fall (may be back to 90F next week, ya never know.

Midget, fans will help. Never had A/C when I was growing up, so fans were a regular part of sleeping in the summer.

FCM, Hope it all works out well for FCD’s parents.

Big Kitty, 4 shots? Ask for Gin and Bourbon…

And now to seek sustenance.

Up, caffeinated, sheveled. Closing shift tonight. Might be getting Maria’s wind today.

Kinda early for Homecoming, isn’t it?

So you’ll end up knitting rompers for Higgs ,taz, and Ziva?

That is weird.

I like doing shots.

Surgery will be tomorrow in a different hospital. **FCD **is on his way and I’m guessing he’ll get to Ocala by 7 or so this evening, unless he exceeds the speed limits ever-so-slightly. I did warn him that if he gets a speeding ticket, the difference in our insurance comes out of his fun money.

OK, back to work for me.

It’s tough to outdrink George

I’m thinking something much wilder; something we’d never expect from MooommmShe doesn’t use coasters! :eek::eek:

& Ruble likes shooting.
Sorry it sounds like FCD is doing his scenic Sunday drive on a Tuesday.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN Yes I have just gotten up, well, about half an hour ago. I woke up around six but went back to sleep cause I didn’t want to be up yet. 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 92 and N.O.S. for the day. I have started a load of laundry so some productivity has ensued. Dindin will be sallit, parmesan chikin, and garlic bread. Easy to make and will be nummy.

MOOOOOOM hope FCD has a safe trip to Ocala and his dad’s surgery goes well.

OK I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I need to motivate a bit and even purtify somewhat.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Going to try and get Bessie inspected today.

And since we’re talking about Bessie — I picked up a collectors plate this weekend in Cambridge Indiana titled Bessie’s Barn.

I may be the only biker out there with one of these in their garage.

Midget, when it’s hot and I can’t get cool enough (even with a/c), I sleep with an ice pack wrapped in a towel, cuddled like a teddy bear. I use the blue things that you put in lunch boxes. Today is *supposedly *the last day of 90. Tomorrow is supposedly going to be 72.

Lunch break, and I’m definitely ready for it. It’s been a challenging morning. But I think I missed FCD’s call while I was nuking my sammich. Dammit. Naturally, he didn’t leave a message. I won’t call him from the work line because it’s a long distance call (yes, they still exist) and I don’t get cell reception in here. I suppose I could walk outside and call him…

4 more hours and I can go home. Not that I’m counting…

Evenin’ all. It’s been lovely, sunny and warm today, before the weather is supposed to go a bit soggy and rubbish for the rest of the week.

Had a fun morning at skool; there’s a big plant nursery off the main site, at which we will be doing some stuff; we got to have a first tour round today. Some really interesting and weird things, like the Amorphophallus titanum collection. Delightful pot plants, highly suitable as gifts

Otherwise, I’m a little bit grumpy this evening; my new landlord apparently likes to meet all his tenants, and he’d arranged to come round this evening to say hi. Fine by me, I had no other plans this evening, or indeed, any other evening this week. So, of course, I find out today that there’s a social thing I’d like to go to this evening, at the same time as the landlord’s coming over.

It’s only a pub meet up, but I haven’t been to the pub since I moved, and it’d be nice to meet up with some of the other students- especially from other years- outside of class.

Last load of laundry is in the dryer. Clean sheets are on the bed. Clean towels abound. I declare this a successful laundry day. Parmesan chikin is ready to go in the oven for bakeage. Looks nummy! I feel as if I made up for the mornin’ slothage. Go Me!

Nuts glad skool is goin’ well. It’ll be nice to meet your landlord and there will be other pub meetups as such things are the wont of kolledge stoodints.

I see possibilities here.

As it happens, I’m not all that far from the average age in the group, in my 30s, half of them are married or have kids, and they’re not doing a whole lot of pubbing; well, I assume the little group of 18-21 year olds are doing some, but they’re not inviting me. Also, far from the typical campus set-up, the class lives over a really wide area, a few commute from well over an hour away. It’s really not the standard set up for a kolledge.

The evening social was the welcome social for the sole society run on the campus, not just a bunch of folks gettin’ drnuk.

Oh well, missed it now, and the landlord seems nice.

Good news: I got the TDAP shot in 2014 so I only had to get a flu shot and TB test. I declined the Hep B shot for fear reasons (fear of the three shots) and the nice nurse lady drew blood to see if I need MMR or Varicella.

Bad news: I almost passed out during the blood draw. This is how my cousin got a TBI. Note to self: from now on, must lie down during blood draws.

I’m a big wuss when I have to have blood drawn (like on this coming Friday…) I have to look away and think happy thoughts. I also warn the phlebotomist ahead of time, but so far, I’ve remained conscious and more or less stable on my feet.

Supper was a hunk of tuna steak, a bowl full of white mushrooms with bleu cheese dressing, and, of course, punkin pie. Happy tummy time! Plus I was able to finish filling the dishwasher, and it’s washing away. Oh, and the house is open. If **FCD **was still home, we’d have the air on, but I can have my way today!

Speaking of whom, he’s probably an hour away from Ocala. I expect the next time he calls, he’ll be there. And I’m sure he’ll be relieved.

I’s tahred - I think I’ll be sleeping with Mel tonight.

I did good with dindin! It was nummy plus just enough leftover for two N.O.L.s tomorrow. WIN-WIN!

Howdy everyone. Posting using the personal hotspot from my phone. We finally got power back I think on Moanday. We still do not have cable or internet. I went to irk yesterday and just cleaned in anticipation of reopening probably next week. I took off today to go see the Dr. again. When I busted my elbow a while back it has starting to have fluid collect on it. I went on Sat and Doc drained it and prescribed antibiotics. I went and had it drained again today. He said the bone there is very angry and a natural protective instinct is to collect fluid to prevent further injury.

Everything is a mess down here. Key West is pristine compared to my island of Big Pine. We took the right side eyewall where the very heaviest winds and tornadoes are. Hubby is working like crazy and his phone is ringing off the hook. I had a nail in a tire from driving over debris I guess.

The newest pastime is collecting free stuff. Plenty of water, food and just about anything one could need. There is a Denny’s disaster trailer a little down the road where I got --believe it or not but pancakes and bacon and coffee. The best I ever had.

Ok. Have not read as I just figured out this hotspot business.

For some reason running the dremel just made me dizzy so I gave that up for tomorrow.

In other news we have no food so I just had a bowl of cereal for dinner. I think I’m going to round off my meal with some potato chips.

I had kind of a close call at work today. Physical contact that could have been much worse. I’m really kind of torn because I do enjoy my job, but I’m not sure that I can really effectively handle the stress involved.

I was thinking happy thoughts too, but they don’t counteract low blood pressure.
