Indian Summer MMP

Dispose of it properly…I’ll PM you my address.
When I was just a little Spiderboy, my older sister convinced me that there were hobgoblins in the basement.
Doggio, I knew what your link was before I even finished reading the sentence.
We went to launch from the church, but couldn’t use the one side (with short grass) because someone was making it even shorter so we had to setup in the unmowed, wild field. I blame you, Swampy.

Hot chicks work well.

I worked; I came home. Tomorrow I have to go to a funeral home visitation. One of our church members was run down and killed Sunday in the crosswalk in front of our church. :frowning: She was a really terrific lady and we know she is in the room prepared for her and we’re sad but not angry/overwhelming sad. Her family (and its a big one) has already forgiven the driver and come to a peace with everything so all in all there are worse ways to leave this world.

Missed by one but enough time has passed that Spidey is forgiven.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 66 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No big plans for the day as I have pretty much completed all the needed chores around da cave. This Sunday our new Priest starts, the one that is twenty-nine but looks twelve. We shall have first Sunday brunch but bigger and better. I shall make a corn casserole, mac 'n cheese, and a gallon of unsweet tea and two gallons of sweet tea as sweet tea seems to be the one that’s most needed. Oh and I have ush duty yet again.

Butters yay for intartoobz!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well I shall purtify and go from there.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Mel knocked me out last night, but my bladder roused me around 3:30 and I never got back to sleep. Oh well, I still got better than 6 hours in a row, so there’s that.

Tomorrow morning, I need to be at the Dr’s office early to get blood drawn. The lab opens at 7:30 and I hope to be among the first couple in line. It’s a fasting blood draw, and I get killer headaches if I have to wait too long to eat. I intend to breakfast immediately after being drained.

And I think I’ll finally get my hair cut tomorrow, too. Gotta see what time they open.

We’ve got a guy coming to start some work at our house today. Part of why our basement floods is that the ground isn’t graded properly. So he’s going to regrade it and prep it for a concrete pad. It’s something we’ve been talking about doing for years - I’ll be glad to have it done. Plus we’ll be getting a new, bigger drain to take the water away into the woods.

Other than that, just another day in paradise. Happy Thursday!

I did too, but part of me was hoping it was something from Troll 2.

Irish Storyteller was burning some incense downstairs last night and it gave me a bad allergy attack. Benadryl helped eventually but I had some truly bizarre dreams.

Man, those kids need SCAN on speed dial!

Up and dressed and generally adulting. Other than that I got nothing. Weather is finally cooling off some and the painter will be finishing up today. Not thrilled with some of the things (there are things undone I swear he agreed to do) but overall I’m pleased with how its all come out.

I made the children go to school today. I am mean. Mean! Somebody gets much better as the day goes on, however, so off to school he went.

I found out on FB that the violinist that my mom and I saw on our cruise 3 years ago is performing on her ship tonight!! I messaged him and asked him to give her a shout out during his show. She’ll flip! I’m so envious!!!

Meanwhile, lunch started a bit late. I’ve been working on a drawing that’s so far up to 8 pages. It’s been a long morning. 4 hours till quit.

Oh, Sunny, be careful about making such declarations on a public forum! You’ll be picketed by the “Stop Mean Mommies Committee” - then what will you do???

That’s AWFUL! What next for the spine?

I did well with the injection. Had one in the hip (probable bursitis) and a catheter injection in the lumbar spine. I don’t remember details. God bless conscious sedation. They could operate and I don’t know that I’d care.

Did have the usual reaction to the corticosteroids – up all night, hyper, had to pee every hour, and a hand-drill migraine this morning. Still worth it for the relief! I can go up and down stairs without holding the rail, and there is almost 0 pain. Progress!

Swampy, were it not for online shopping, I would never buy clothing. The only stores I can actually shop in are LL Bean and the Land’s End section of Sears. Both off-peak. And even then, i often try on there, then use the great deal I get in the mail to order. Twice a year, I Ativan myself to go to Kohls, but I may go elsewhere if they don’t stop it with the “saving energy by not using a/c” nonsense. Anxiety attacks = sweat. Turn the damn air lower than 80F if it’s 90F, and don’t turn the heat on because it’s 60F. Macy’s might work.

Spidey, I always thought that Indian Summer was just an unusually warm spell during normal Autumnal months. A longtime New Englander I know has told me that over his lifetime, the weather has shifted – so the area doesn’t all cool off until October now (and Halloween may be warm or may involve snow). It was 88F yesterday. Today high is 74F, and temp drops to 56F on Saturday (with rain). I can live with that. I love cool autumn weather.

Only got partway through the thread before the migraine medicine kicked in. Back later to catch up on the news. Have a great afternoon, peeps.

Howdy y’all.

Been home for awhile recuperating, doing well. Trying to catch up on all the stories.

I’ll go back to work next week. Everything’s been doing great.

Been spending much of my time on other parts of the internet (sorry!). Gonna try to be better about dropping by here more often.

Hey, tugig!! Glad to hear you’re coming along. Do you think when you get back to work, they’ll put you on the story about the gigantic nekkid woman statue on the Mall?? I saw a guy being interviewed who said he thought it was a bad idea because it might unleash another Trump twitter-storm!

Almost time to go. This has been a helluva week. Bloodletting tomorrow, so I’m going to skip punkin pie tonight, for the sake of the blood sugar.

I wish I had a hot tub. I’m achy.

Drink lots of water for those big easy to bleed veins.

Don’t know what they might have me do, but a big inflatable nekkid lady wouldn’t be too bad.

If you ever do a big bathroom remodel and can get a jacuzzi tub I heartily endorse it! This home has one and it’s the highlight of my Sunday evening.

I must have missed a staff meeting.

Unfortunately, the only way to do a big bathroom remodel in this house is to add a big bathroom. The “master bath” such as it is measures 5’ wide X 8’ long. The other bathroom might be 7’ x 8’, maybe.

When we lived in Virginia, we had a jacuzzi tub, but it didn’t have a heater, so it cooled down way too fast. And it was a pain in the patoot to clean. We’ve talked about getting a hot tub, but there’s really no place to put one without pouring a slab and running power to it and roofing it over… unless we hit the lotto, it ain’t gonna happen here. <sigh>

Home, tahred, not sure what to have for supper. Maybe just a salad? Or a couple of apples. I don’t feel like cooking and I don’t wanna go anywhere. I don’t even have the energy to order pizza… How pathetic is that??

At least I don’t have to go to the office again till Moanday.

Oh, and I posted pics on FB of the dug-out-soon-to-be-paved section of the yard. He put in nice, big drain lines. Huzzah!! It should be the end of the flooded basement.

So, I hadn’t heard anything about a giant naked woman, so I googled it, and there are at least three of them. One apparently in San Leandro, one in D. C. and one in France.
It’s an invasion!

I, for one, welcome our giant naked women overlords.

I am curled up with a warm puppy. Time for a quick nap.

That flooded basement could have been turned into the jacuzzi tub!

Glass half full!
My tub isn’t heated either but it stays warm for about an hour, which is plenty, and if I really want to soak I can top it off with more hot water.

You didn’t see the basement when you were here - it’s full to overflowing with woodworking and metalworking machines, and a welder, and a plasma cutter, and a CNC router, and a 3-D printer… Man Land, you know.
