Not a lot of yuppies in there today - mostly families. I’m not sure who they’re targeting.
Sorry, I’m not going to feast on worms, but today’s high was 78, sunny, breezy and low humidity.
Don’t hate me for having nice weather, it’s not going to last.
I didn’t get as much done today as I had hoped, but then I never do. Getting older sucks when it comes to getting stuff done. At least the kid is feeling better. He took it easy today, but tomorrow he gets back to irk.
I made tacos for him, but I bought a different kind of shell and he’s not too thrilled with them.
Cup o’noodles for me. Nothing looks good tonight.
I have survived the dreaded tilt table test. And by survive, I mean endured the utter boredom of it. Nearly two hours of being strapped to a table at the hospital and tilted up at a 75-degree angle to see if I faint. No fainting, so they provoked me with a med that sped up my heart. Still no fainting, so my heart issues are presumed to not be a “vaso-vagal” problem. Other than the odd feeling of having my pulse artificially dialed up to 125 and beating hard even though I wasn’t running or whatever, it’s tedious.
Last week, blood was shipped off for genetic testing to see if I have familial heart disease, or if I’m just a weirdo. My mother has A-Fib and heart failure, so I probably do have a congenital version. Off to the cardiologist next Tuesday to discuss the next steps…
Checked with Social Security today. They have an odd interpretation of “expediting” a claim. I probably have another 2-4 weeks before they’ll send me DH’s disability pay.
Meth???
I was s’posed to go to Movie Tavern for dinner (& a movie) w/ others; never made it as some @#$%& rear-ended me.
My back is sore, too. May need to ingest some relaxing liquid to help with that issue.
Truck Day went alright. We had our compliance guy do a compliance audit on the store. We passed. For the 1st time in years. :Snoopy Dance :
Drae!!!
: Tacklehug :
Welcome back! How’s ME? Do you still have Winchester? Dos he still hump Superman?
: crosses fingers for sunny :
And an hour after the Severe Thunderstorm Warning ended, I got a Severe Thunderstorm ,with hail even. Good job, NWS.
Spidey, Are you OK ,otherwise? Was the other car driven by a carnivorous plant?![]()
No. I’m Epis. ![]()
On that note, I shall now join OYKW in the boudoir. We’s both tahrd and sleepified.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Yikes, spidey!
Get yourself checked out by a pro if you’re still sore tomorrow.
No, that new drug that makes you feel like you haven’t taken drugs at all: Crystal “Meh”.
We had bacon, sausage, grits and scrams and toast for dinner. Quick and easy.
As much as I don’t want to me and a colleague are leaving early Firday morning for Jacksonville FL to visit our friend that is terminally ill with Pancreatic cancer. She is in hospice and wants to give us some of her things. She has two sets of very nice expensive China with all the serving bowls, platters, tea set and everything that goes with. So one for me and one for the other lady plus some paintings. I don’t want to take her stuff but am honored she wants to give me some of her things. I am not a fancy China type person so I can’t see ever using it. I have never met her in person but have worked with her over 13 years via phone and computer. I love her very much. We are leaving on Firday and coming home on Sunday so we can have the 4th to rest.
Once this trip is over I am never going anywhere again. At least no time soon.
Well in the search for brains to devour …
Swampbears On Drugs ------- good for a band name or a future Disney movie!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out, cloudy and very muggy with a predicted high of 86 and rain for the day. We shall see.
{{{Butters}}} so sorry about your friend but how cool is it that she wants you to have sump’n to remember her. I understand about not bein’ a china person. My “good stuff” is actually ironstone.
ruble I vote for Disney movie.
Spidey in all seriousness if you’re still sore this mornin’ go get checked out.

OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. On the bright side, less than a month until retirement! YAY!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, off to work. Long day today, since we might have corporate company.
Today is Pension Payday! WOOHOO! Yeah. Whatever. The thing about the 2 cruises we have planned - you have to pay for them. Just deposits so far, but still a chunk of change outside of our normal budget, so our VISA balance is, um, disturbing. But we haven’t had a real vacation in years, so if we have to dip into our savings, well, we’re worth it! Dammit! And no, I don’t count driving to Ocala to see the inlaws as a vacation. Last time **FCD **and I vacationed together sans family was circa 2011 I think…
**FCD **has become a major Washington Nationals fan, and I’ve been watching the games with him. For the first time since I was a kid and Brooks Robinson and Boog Powell were playing for the Orioles, I actually know a lot of names of the guys on the team. If I didn’t hate driving to DC so much, I’d like to go to a game there. I should get us tickets to a Blue Crabs game - they play in Waldorf, so it’s much less of a trek. I think I like baseball because I actually know most of the rules. Anyway, the Nats took 3 in a row against the Mets - go Nats!!!
And now we creep towards a 3-day weekend - about time!
Happy Thursday!
My rememberies of Drea was of a fairly intelligent woman…which begs the question:
Why would ZombieDrae come into the MMP if she wants brains?
::Steers ZombieDrae towards GQ for a meal::
Happy Thorsday!
It’s 58 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 82 and be sunny today. So far it is a bit overcast, I hope it doesn’t rain. Sah-son didn’t mow yesterday, he did knock down whatever the hell kind of weed it is out there that seems to grow several feet in one day. I think it’s some kind of bamboo.
Y’all have been busy lately, I’m reading, but not keeping up too well.
blurf
Yay! People remember me! Now let’s see if I can answer all the questions … I’ve eaten a lot of brains this morning, so I should be super-smart.
Yes, I’m living in Maine, been here about a year and a half. I bought a lovely historic house that was abandoned for many years and then flipped by the lowest bidder - so it’s got some problems, but it’s also got 150-year-old wooden floors and beautiful ceiling medallions and a terrifying, spider-filled cellar and windows that were painted shut sometime during the Jazz Age. There’s a lot of work to do, but there’s also a lot of time to do it.
We had to let Khan go about a month after we moved up, he was old and arthritic and miserable, had stopped grooming himself, and it was the kindest thing to do. I thought I’d never want another cat because he was perfect, but I kind of miss having a kitty. However, that won’t happen any time soon, because Winchester’s new little brother Wallace is at least half Whippet, and anything smaller and faster-moving than him = lunch. So no kitties until Wallace grows up.
Winchester is old and slowing down and getting a little cranky, but still a very good boy. He doesn’t hump much these days, but he barks a lot more. Poor Wallace is another rescue - we got him at about a year old, and somebody who had him before us was very mean to him. Thankfully, he doesn’t flinch when you reach for him anymore, but he’s a high-strung breed and constantly anxious, which translates into lots of crying and barking for no reason at all that anyone can determine. He’s super-excitable and sounds like a mini-horse on those beautiful old floors I mentioned, but he’s also a very accomplished snuggler, once he calms the hell down.
I’m working at a cleaning and disaster restoration company, answering phones and scheduling appointments. It’s my favorite kind of job, one where I go home at the end of the day and then don’t have to think about it until I get back. Roomie works at U Maine and loves it, and BoyRoomie (Roomie’s fiance) is currently on orders locally with the National Guard. Child (BoyRoomie’s daughter) is going to be visiting this weekend, and she’s a trial, but I love her. Most of the time.
I have an actual life, which is surprising. I take dance classes, I go out with friends regularly, I have a weekly Game of Thrones gathering at our house. Sometimes I miss my sitting-around time, but the kitchen’s not going to paint itself. (It’s been a year and I still haven’t painted the damned kitchen.) And my hair is currently several non-natural colors because I finally work somewhere where nobody cares what I look like as long as I get the job done.
So life is pretty good.
One of the things that sucks about opening the windows and using the fan is that the neighbors go outside to smoke and I can smell it when they do.
Welcome back Drae - I missed you.
I’m sore, it’s uncomfortable, I have a fairly high pain threshold so I’m not sure I’d use the word “in pain” though for lower back/soft tissue injury; IOW it’s bareable for now.
Called the doc for an appointment; they tried to give me one for July 12th. I gotta wait two flippin’ weeks??? What are the chances I feel better by then? I was able to get it moved up to next week. :smack:
Mebbe I should self medicate in the meantime. Hmmm, would Krystal meth be good to use…& how long would it take to ship from Jawja? I hear it’s Bear-y good down there. :o
@FCM - Are you sure that you don’t like baseball because it’s a sport that’s conducive to napping?
