Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN I went to sleep to the sounds of a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig thunderstorm! Right now it’s 63 degrees Amurrkin.
Quasi our local weatherfolk do a better job of what’s happenin’ too. I think it’s cause they actually know what’s happenin’ weatherwise right here and now. This I know cause I’ve seen TWC forecasts that told me such things as it was sunny out while we were in the midst of a tstorm. Updatin’ is not TWC’s strong suit.
{{{Picu and hubby}}}. I trust he’s alright now.
Don’t forget to eat some sausage cause it’s ground hog day!
Time for more caffiene and feedin’ of a very rumbly tummy. Then irk purtification must commence.
It’s 3:30 AM. I can’t sleep. Hubby is sleeping like a baby after his big trauma. I could tell he was better before he went to sleep because he got all grumpy with me, but I still spent half the night listening to him breathe.
I have to schedule my MRI today and it’s bothering me more than I expected. I’m tired of going to medical appts! We’re both eating better and exercising, I thought that was supposed to make us healthy.
Good morning all; up and caffeination in progress here. We did not get the freezing rain, all that wintry weather is passing to the north of at least where I live in the DC area, whew! Dodged yet another bullet, so I’m knocking on wood three times yet again.
Good thoughts headed your way on the MRI, Picu, also get well wishes for your hubby - but -why- did he touch that almond?! Heh. My daughter is allergic to nuts and even the smell of peanut butter affects her.
My knees are feeling better, Doggio, thanks! And wearing the compression socks really does help my legs.
It is past time to get out of here. Have a good Wednesday, all - at least it’s hump day and after today, two more days until the weekend!
tarragon918, I have no idea why he touched it, other than the fact he’s often 6 years old.
I couldn’t believe it, he touched it, then picked it up, and said “Look, I can touch almonds!” This as he’s face turned bright red and he started to wheeze and scratch.
I love him, but, damn! Maybe this, at least, embarrassed him enough to not try that again.
Howdy y’all! Sneakin’ in a post from East Albeeeny Medical Center. Only one of my three ummm… mentorees showed up today. So, we bother folks and talk. At least I got somebody to talk to!
We are having rolling blackouts here in Texas, due to the extreme cold temperatures. This is not fun! I can’t get hold of Dad to explain to him what is happening. He is either asleep or can’t hear his cell phone ringing. We have a Magic Jack landline which doesn’t work when the power is out. I’ll go home at lunch and check on him…
Officially we have 17.5 inches on the ground but the drifts are funky. In front, the garage is backed up to a 5 foot drift, in back I can see the patio bricks under as light dusting.
I’m stalling before I go out for the first pass with the snow blower. At this rate, tomorrow could well be a snow day too!
I call it “trapped in the land of Further Testing”. It frustrates the Hell out of me especially when I don’t feel bad. I had something funky come up in my blood chemistry that cost me several tests and some 24 hour inpatient studies. All to find out I had a minor infection in a cyst. Don’t get me wrong – it needed done. But finding it and all was more pain and injury than i8t had been causing at that point. But what do I know?
PS – I’ve only had one relative who lived what people call a healthy life. He exercised, rarely ate meat, never used tobacco in any form, had a nice house and a job with little stress to it. His drinking was maybe a six pack a year. We always tried to say he was adopted because we all do all kinds of terrible unhealthy things and barring “misadventure” we usually live to our mid 70s. Some of our ladies to their late 90s. He developed cancer at 42 and died of a heart attack at 45 ----- the only person in 4 generations to check out like that so young. Karma and fate ----- they both can be bitches.
It poured rain here in Middle GA last night, all night; now - it’s so dry out my soaked kitchen rug (thanks dishwasher) is hanging to dry w/ no problem. I think I even see a sliver of sun!
I just happened to pop in on that reply – I’ll say you should feel cheated. One or two inches??? That’s barely enough to ---------- wait. What are we talking about? Ooooops - I didn’t know it was snow. I thought it was ------- never mind.

We’re doing perfectly fine in that department, thanks.
Unfortunately purple potatoes just go sort of dark when you fry them. When you boil them or just cut into them theylook like this.
Very sleepy. I’m going to stare out the window for a minute and then have a nap. It’s started really snowing, so we might get our foot or eighteen inches of snow yet. We’ll see.
Home early and temporarily. I’ll be leaving in half an hour or so to get my new specs. They’ll grind the lenses while I wait, leaving me sitting for an hour unable to read or anything. I may take my knitting - I can do that by feel.
**FCD **was supposed to come home tomorrow night. But his testing for today was cancelled. They closed the test range due to high winds. And it’s closed tomorrow for some kind of bombing tests. So he’s been out there over and week and has been able to do precisely nothing. The question now is - do they want him to hang around and see if he can do anything on Friday or just come home and try again another time. Dunno
Meanwhile, his middle bro is coming in Monday night for an interview in VA on Tues. Looks like I’ve got to give up my car on Tues because he can’t afford to rent one (he’s been out of work almost 2 years) and the interview is about 90 miles from here. Frankly I’m nervous because he’s not the best driver. I loaned him my car once and had to take it into the shop right afterwards. Maybe we should just rent one for him?
It’s lovely and mild here, so I opened the window in the family room. Both cats are looking out. I suspect Charley is wandering around outside, glad to be free of the garage. It won’t last - it’ll be cold again tomorrow, but for now, the snow is melted and it’s almost spring-like out there!
swampy, I’ve got a ring of Polish sausage thawing for our groundhog day meal! I think I’ll stop on the way home for some salad stuff to go with it.
Happy Groundhog Day! Why the #%)(&^ *isn’t it Firday yet??
I met OYKW for brekkies. We had pancakes and sausage in honor of ground hog day.
Ok, so I said sketties for dindin but that has changed. Instead I shall make quesadillas. About mid-mornin’ I decided quesadillas must be had. So, since I did not have any beef thawed at da cave, I stopped at the grocery sto’ and bought a nice round steak. Steak quesadillas. YUM! Easy to make also. Even better.
Today is also Candlemas. Thus, I shall take myself to Evenin’ Prayer at the church house. We shall do a procession with candles even! I get to hold fire! Now tell me that ain’t a reason to go to church!
