It's A Rainy Night/Morning in Georgia... The MMP

Someone posted on meetup about a parking lot that is available and has shuttle service to the event. It’s a mile or so away, though so I hope the shuttle is easy to find and use! I don’t really need to walk a mile before skiing! There could be street parking, if I don’t mind the walk, but snow restrictions are in effect, and I don’t know what they are and I really don’t want my car to get towed! So, in other words, I’m still a bit nervous about the parking situation (in addition to the Loppet, Uptown is the hub of the Cities’ entertainment district so on a Saturday night it’s hard to find parking there anyway… I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to bring in a zillion skiers in addition to the regular crowd), but other than that I’m excited.

So tired today though. I woke up really hungry at 2:30 and was planning to go to spinning class (the cycling kind, not the yarn kind) at 5:45 a.m. so knew I would need some fuel before that. So I got up and had a bowl of cereal, and then I couldn’t fall back to sleep. I did make it to class, and I was ok after that, but I hit the wall about 2 this afternoon. :o <- yawn.

Thanks, but I’m bringing my own futon, with bonus frame even.

Well hell. Culinary Boy had a second interview at a call center place today, but he didn’t get hired because he typed too slow on the assessment. He’s mildly ticked about it.

I thought I was supposed to meet someone for coffee today, but it’s after four and I haven’t heard anything so I guess not.

My cousin’s standing up and starting to walk again!

Well, I’ll be damned! My company succumbed to media madness and sent everybody home at 2:00. We will be closed until noon tomorrow, but we should call the emergency number to be sure we’re open.

We’re supposed to get a “wintry mix” and maybe 2-3 inches of snow tonight.

So I’m home with dogs in my lap. Yay!

(My boss told me I could call and even if we’re open, take a 1/2 day personal business. I’m off until Monday!)

My sweetie is coming home - provided he makes it to the airport on time. It’s 3 hours from Yuma to Phoenix and he needs to be at the airport by 5-ish, so ick. Unfortunately, he has to go back to Yuma sometime in the future. We’ll deal with that later.

Daughter is on her way home - she canceled her afternoon plans because she’s tired. So yay for that.

Scruffy is whining - guess I should take her out.

Good vibes sent to FCM’s BIL and family… and yay for FCD coming home!

Yay for Spaz’s cousin!

Ditto what Rebo said.

Tired. Going home soon.

MD tax refund has magically appeared in my bank account. Yay for e-filing!

Soup was good, and I’ve got enough for lunch tomorrow, so yay for that, too!

Keeping your sister and BIL esp. in my thoughts, FCM, also good news about FCD coming home.

The eye doc sent in a surgery request so that I can get the cataract removed from the other eye! The left one has healed and I’m seeing quite nicely but the right eye’s cataract has just gone kaflooey and worsened a good bit. In other news, my blood work (so far) looks good, although my triglicerides have gone up (they’re still under 200 though). A1C was 6.2!

Yay for the move this weekend, BBBBBobbio; hope all goes well with your rescue squad interview, btw. And yes, I continue to look forward to your naming conventions.

Tomorrow is Wear RED day, in support of heart health. Just a reminder.
And yeah, tomorrow just also happens to be FIRDAY!

I’ll wear my red plaid jammies, TYVM…

MOOOOOOM BIL is in my thoughts and prayers. Hope FCD made it to the airport.

Spaz yay for your cousin!

No wintry mix here but it is rainy.

Sketties was good. Or should that be Sketties were good? 'Tis a grammatical puzzle.

Oh! I forgot to share good news. Remember a couple weeks ago I talked about my friend’s dog Cinnie having an agressive tumor? Well, it wasn’t! it was an infection of her anal gland. Two weeks of antibiotics and a minor surgery later and she’s fine!

I so happy. I’d hate it if the only nice dog in my world was to die.

Yay for FCD coming home and for the dog getting better and for everything else. Sorry. Too tired to read.

Mr. Lissar and I were just watching a movie and hanging out, and Mr. Lissar’s been sick all day so he never got out of jammies. Someone called to say Bailey’s right with them. Mr. Lissar has just left with insufficient clothing and truly great weird hair to try to get our cat.

Bailey’s been feral for almost two months. I dunno how he’ll be even if we get him back.

I have great hopes that Bailey will be just fine! Great news!

Great news about it only being anal glands… ew…

:: puts sketties on the menu for next week::

Pot roast is thawed and ready for the crock pot tomorrow. Mr Rebo bought me a new one! My old one has given up the ghost.

It has been decided that on Superbowl Sunday only one batch of chili shall be entered into Al’s Sportsbar Annual Super Bowl Chili Cookoff. I will be Mr Rebo’s sous chef.

Home at the Lair. Blurf.

Hello, all. I just popped in to say hello. (if you think I’m reading 3 pages this close to bedtime, you’re nuts!)
I see that the usual suspects are here and seem to be doing well. Keep up the good work!
Later…

Fan-damn-tastic!!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN It’s Firday!!! It’s also chilly and drizzly out. Looks like it must have rained a bunch durin’ the night.

LiLi yay for Bailey!

Picu yay for Cinnie!

Look! It’s rigs! Howdy rigs!

Glad you made it safe and sound to the lair BBBobbio.

Hmmm… wear sump’n red today. All I can think of off hand is a red short sleeved shirt (I have two of those) but short sleeves won’t get it today I’m afeared.

In news on the homefront, I have a thawed turkey ready to bake tomorrow. I have dressin’ made up ready to bake tomorrow. The cake will get made tonight. One of the side dishes shall be marinated veggies which I will make tonight so’s said veggies can, ya know, marinate. I should also make deviled aigs cause, well, deviled aigs! I should get the candied sweet N.O.T. ready for bakin’ tomorrow too. This is one of those times I’m so glad I have a convection oven as well as a conventional oven. That’s a lot of work in the kitchen ahead. MOG better appreciate this. Oh and even though this is a bday dindin, we’re havin’ Bloody Mary’s cause that’s the birthday girl’s requested adult beverage. Pineapple dip and assorted crackers shall be the horse doin’s. No other horse doin’s as dindin shall be a big one. Butter beans, cornbread and, of course, giblet gravy shall comprise the rest of the menu. I’s tahred just thinkin’ about this!

In and amongst all that, tonight’s dindin is steak, friggin’ good N.O.T., sallit and cheesey bread.

Time for more caffiene and rumbly tummy feedin’. Then irk purtification must commence.

Happy Firday Y’all!

What Rebo said.

We’re considering switching off one of the phones of one of my bosses. Someone keeps calling him every two minutes or so. Dude(tte): he’s left it at his desk because he’s in a meeting, driving his subordinates up the wall will not make him take your call!
