Afternoon, all! It was still morning when I posted on farcebook but now it’s afternoon. How freaky.
And it’s Caturday! I have nothing much planned for today, got errands to do in town later and I think it’s my turn to cook tonight. We have a Camenbert that was given to us recently along with a jar of marinated sultanas…I’m thinking of baking the cheese and getting it all runny then dipping crusty bread in it, or maybe just eating it with the boozy fruit.
I’m off to my mum’s again tomorrow, she is going on holiday to New Zealand on Thursday and I have offered to go and help her sort out clothes and get stuff packed. She’s very excited, it’s her last big adventure holiday now that she’s 76!
Swampy, I’m sure the bday cooking will be perfect but I’ll send you my address in case you have leftovers to get rid of…
I think I shall have to go in the bedroom, lift up the bed and shake a certain somebody who shall remain nameless out of the bed so’s I can vacuum and dust. I want to spiff up da cave a bit. It’s rise and shine time!
BooFae good for your mom! Hope she has a good time.
Hope your Mom has a great vacation, BooFae–great itinerary there. Yay for Cinny being okay, and an almost yay for almost catching Bailey. Poor creature! And you can send any leftovers up to MD too, Swampy. LOL Like there’ll be any. And yay for GT, just because!
I am caffeinated, believe it or not, but apparently need another cup. I’ll have to Rosie’s .sig on everything else … I do hope that Smokey didn’t molest Rosie as she slept!
Smokey did not molest me until about 6:00, my workday wakeup time - she meowed loudly, batted my nose a few times, and kneaded the covers in an attempt to pull them off me.
Yay for FCD being home! And yay for all the other happy news.
It’s supposed to warm up to above freezing with lots of sunshine around 10 am this morning, so we will finally thaw out. High in the 50’s. But we have another freezing cold front coming next week.
Mr Rebo is going to cook up his winning chili recipe for the entry into tomorrow’s Super Bowl Chili Cook Off. I was going to enter too, but it’s really too much money to expend. So I shall be his sous chef. I have volunteered to chop all the veggies.
Of course, it’s monsooning and cold, with standing water everywhere. Now I regret selling the canoe.
Picked up the rental truck. I reserved a 10’ box van, and got a 16’ instead. Now I’s grumpy about it. Why? Because with a 10’, I’d resist the urge to move everything I could because I had to budget the room. I have one room of stuff that has to go for VunderBob life support, second layer is stuff the movers won’t or can’t handle, like some antiques and my ammunition, and the third is layer is general stuff we want out of the way of the pros. Harrumph.
I’ve had a week, alright. It’s been crazy and things are fixing to become even more so.
I have to leave for Texas Monday morning. I am hoping that things are not fubarred weather wise then. I fly into Dallas and from Dallas I fly to San Antonio. On Thursday, I return via the same route only in reverse. I know Dallas kept shutting down, the other day.
Which reminds me; I need to make my airport shuttle reservations.
Even though the weather is craptastic, Bobbio, I hope the move proceeds smoothly.
Well, that about all the exciting news I have. Hugs and smooches to all; just because.
Muy productive morning here. It started off with us sleeping in till 8:30, sorta. Scruffy woke me at 4:45 then at 5:20-ish to go out. Some time between 6 and 7, **FCD **and I kinda talked - you know: “What time is it?” “I dunno - 6-something?” then we fell back to sleep. Daughter was at the door at 8:30, all dressed and ready to go to breakfast like we’d planned… oops.
So I hit the shower, dressed, then grabbed Scruffy and headed to Petco for her grooming appointment at 9:30 (made it with 10 minutes to spare.) Met up with the fambly at Bob’s and had breakfast, then drove to Avis to drop off the rental car. Next stop was Joann’s for a vest pattern and some fabric - **FCD **wants a safari-style vest. So we got the pattern and denim in black and khaki, plus lining and buttons. He’s getting 2 vests when I get around to it. The pattern is super simple - the hard part will be adding some pockets, since I have to invent that part.
From there, we ran back to Petco so daughter could sign up for the next series of classes for Cozmo, and while there, I decided to check - Scruffy was done! So that saved me a trip back. One quick stop at Lowe’s, then home again. So in about 3 hours we got all of our running around done. So yay!
I’ve got a load in the washer, and a couple-three more to go. It’s drizzley and ick out, but we’re inside, so who cares? Life is good - my sweetie is home!
Da cave smells like Thanksgiving! Turkey is roastin’ away. When it gets to the last hour of cookin’ I’ll slide the dressin’ in. The candied sweet N.O.T. and rolls shall be cooked in the convection oven. That way I can use the big oven to keep stuff warm. Rolls instead of cornbread cause well, the dressin’ is cornbread dressin’. The only other big cookin’ is the gravy and butter beans which won’t take long. The dip is made as is the bloody mary mix.
Taxes are done! I haven’t e-filed yet, because I want Mr Rebo to double check my work. Our refund is significantly smaller this year. Ya think it might have something to do with Mr Rebo being gainfully employed for most of the year? I’m not bitching, believe me.
Laundry is in progress, and I’m gonna get off my ass and do the breakfast dishes soon. Me Rebo has gone to gather supplies for his chili.
Been kind of a brain dead day. Hay for sleeping on the couch in the afternoon!
Peanut noodles with veg for dinner and Mr. Lissar playing trains with Gnat behind me. Mr. Lissar has just spent twenty minutes painstakingly constructing a train track in the livingroom. The floor isn’t visible.
We bought a new TV - well, we won’t get it till Thurs, but still. It’s a 47" LG, and the sale includes a blu-ray player and a wireless adaptor. Now we just have to find a home for our bazillion pound tube TV - we’re going to see if the women’s shelter will take it. Goodness knows, no one would want to buy the monster.
There went our Christmas money! Finally…
Next I need to replace this computer. On to shop now.
Hey,** FCM**, don’t know what size your old TV is, but you might be able to drop it off at Best Buy if no one else will take it. They’ll recycle all kinds of electronics and have bins where you can drop off CDs and DVDs, memory cards, various cords etc. I think I had to pay them $10 when I dropped off my old TV, but they gave me a $10 gift card. I’m pretty sure there’s a size limit on TVs, though.
Hope the move goes smoothly, Bobbio.
I like 'em both, rosie.
I got the Valentines all sent out and did laundry and continued knitting my brother’s gloves and watch some eps of Psych and Cheers. We also went to the grocery to get a few things.
Glad I checked my e-mail in a moment of insomnia. The church people who will help me want to unload around 12:30, so I need to go by 0700, instead of 0800 as planned.
