Rain is going away today, but there is the promise it’ll be back for the weekend. Broke my glasses last night (was taking them off and one the tiny screws popped off along with the left lens. Will get it fixed after work.
rosie, I have throughly checked the installed at birth equipment and I can state without a doubt that I am a guy, and according to various documents (including the long-form birth certificate, I am 62 years old.

They got Dede home from the hospital in Indy and settled in with hospice attendents. I texted with her this morning before they left and her daughter emailed me when they were home. I’ll likely make the drive to Indiana this weekend. I’m just not ready to let her go.
Last week, a friend told me she was pregnant with her first. Jokingly, I suggested that this time next year, she’ll need to decide what costume her baby will wear.
“Oh, I’m already getting ideas from Pinterest!”
Today, I have received five emails from four different people (yes, one sent it to me twice) at two firms about a job that I might be interested in…if it wasn’t a 16-hour commute each way! :smack:
Lessee, 16 commute there + work 8 hrs + 16 commute home (assuming no traffic, stops for meals &/or bathroom breaks) means it’s only 40 hours of work every 24 hour day; & that doesn’t include any sleep, personal time, or vehicle maintenance, which I assume will be about weekly with that much driving. :smack: :dubious: :smack: :dubious:
So bored at irk. With the change over to the Single Fund all accounting is on hold while the system is updated. I have done very little of anything today. I did get my car serviced.
I think I will give up and try again tomorrow. Got a sinus headache anyway.
Howdy Y’all! Irk has been survived. One more day! Have I mentioned I have Firday off? Dindin is doin’ it’s thang in the oven as I post. Baked bbq poke chops and sweet N.O.T. are bakin’ as well. I shall bake up some rolls when those are almost done as well as steam up flytrap’s favorite succotash. Sounds like the makin’s of a nummy dindin.
I shall betake myself over to the church house this evenin’. OYKW says he’s goin’ to his place to deal with some paperirk tonight, poor thing.

For Halloween I got the fancy vampire fangs, and violet - ok, shockingly purple - contact lenses. Not planning much of a costume beyond that and some stronger than usual make-up. I figure I’ll just flash fang if anyone asks about my costume. 
Kiddos are a dragon (black) and a minecraft something (black and purple). I think my kiddos are trying to get run over by a car after dark.

Another really busy day, so the time zipped by. Stopped on the way home for some groceries, which included some fried chicken for supper. I’ve got a coupla punkin pies in the oven for my sweetie to take to work tomorrow. They’re having a chili cook-off and he’s taking the dessert. It smells yummy in here!
These short-sleepin’ nights are getting old. I can’t make it on 5 hours. *<yawn>

It’s been another grumpy day. I don’t know why I am so grumpy - maybe the weather? Or maybe I need to do something different? Or maybe a new bladder that lets me sleep?
I got a letter from verizon offering me a nice cable/internet/phone package so I have to think about that. It’s $60 less/month but I wonder what the catch is.
My mother has verizon and she has nothing but trouble with them, and a friend had verizon and had nothing but trouble. Every month there is a problem with the bill. I have friends with verizon cell phones and I think the service sucks.

Verizon is the one who sent me the letter.
I have a small, local company called Antietam.
I went back and read the small print, they want a 2 year contract but the first 12 months are $74.99. Then I tried to go out to the web site in the letter and it doesn’t exist. I think if you are going to offer internet service your website should be there.
I’ve had no problem with Antietam other than they went from $112 to $134 when my contract was up
I didn’t know there were any small companies left.
I worked for a cable company for decades. When Verizon started their FiOS bundle, we lost a lot of subs, who all came back within six months if that tells you anything. Same thing happened each time Verizon did a marketing push.
Ask Antietam if they can offer you an incentive to stay with them. Worst that can happen is they say “no”.
Howdy Y’all! Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. 'Twas a nice service as usual. I was the last to take Communion and there was a half a Chalice of wine left, so Deacon Joy made sure I chugged it all down so she wouldn’t have to do so. The sacrifices we make!
sari what rosie said. I do that every so often with phone, cable and intartoobz and I always talk ‘em down on the price. What? I gave up bar fightin’ so I have to have sump’n to take its place.
