Apparently this is the time of year that Higgs gets a skin condition. We’ve got pills for her (steroids, I think) for the next coupla weeks. Poor puppeh.
One of the pies I sent to work with FCD came home. Yay! Punkin pie!!

Give Higgs a cuddle from me.
Sitting at my computer with a big bowl of fettuchini alfredo…and that’s about all I got. Found a good picture from my Spring travels to Australia/New Zealand that I think I’ll make my Facebook cover. If I can work up the ambition…frulb (blurf in the evening)
I think I’ll veg the night away. Despite a good night’s sleep, I’s tahred.
MWAH!!
I’m not sure where to start on this day, really.
First half of the irk day was routine, really. Come lunchtime, I hand off the walkie-talkie to another cashier, go to lunch. Get captured by boss and grandboss for a meeting as I’m heading back to the floor after eating. Turns out I’m being shifted to another department which is short of leads, also making room for a member of my current department to become lead, which will be useful to her when she leaves the nest. I’m cool with this, and new boss is a nice person. I’ll be able to work with him just fine.
After the larger meeting involving current and future boss, plus current and future grandboss, new supervisor and I sit down for some one-on-one conversation, including topics such as my class schedule and other things he needs to know to schedule me, and how he runs his department. During the conversation, his walkie, on the generally used channel, suddenly broadcasts a call of our most serious emergency code, which calls for all supervisors and above who can to respond. I trailed new supe to the problem, which was a medical emergency on the sales floor. Based on what we heard emergency responders say, I think there’s a significant chance a customer died in the store today.
Finally got back to current post to find that co-lead had not only had a majorly belligerent customer right at the same time as the other emergency, but she’d misplaced our walkie. At this point, we suspect a customer (possibly her PITA) stole it.
Ambient levels of demanding and crabby from customers went up over the afternoon, too. I was SO glad to leave for the day.
My transfer is effective Saturday, which is a problem for former supe, since ALL the leads now in that department wanted to work morning shift Saturday, and I would have been the closing shift lead that day if I’d still been on that schedule, which would have solved that. Not my problem, but they’re tense about it.
Trying to decide on comfort takeout options for tonight (carne asada nachos vs. pepperoni cheese bread). I should probably be considering a pan of brownies, too (got mix on hand). One of the craziest days I’ve ever had at ANY job, and that includes the time I got robbed while working at a 7-11.
I agree with MOOOOOOOOM. I’s tahrd! So is OYKW. I’m thinkin’ soonish we shall retire to the boudoir to watch teevee and so on until sleepy time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Long day at work and dinner awaits. Later Gators!
I worked at mt (soon to be) new store ,then I went and worked in da Hood. I’m off this weekend, so I don’t miss any hockey next week. Saves me the trouble of burning down da Hood store ,so I could be off for hockey(not my circus, not my monkeys officially the week of the 8th. )
I’m making yogurt chicken pitas with cucumber kalamata relish with spinach and lemon thyme olives for dinner.
Nettie, go for nachos. And I feel for you. Had to explain to a customer that no, you can’t go around Federal law by having another person buy you your [del]meth ingredients[/del]Sudafed.
Poor Higgs. : skritches :
Sah-dog goes through it every year at this time. I used to give him benadryl but stopped when he had a seizure. I have prescription medicated shampoos that don’t do anything. He drives us crazy with the itching but it has to be worse for him. I finally said screw it and sprinkled him with the prescription powder I got from the hospital. I only put it where he can’t reach it to lick it off. So far it seems to be helping.
I thought it was the shar-pei half, maybe it’s the pug half.
I’m going to try a dip I found online of water, peroxide, and borax.
He sounds like a very cute dog. Have you posted pictures?
Oh my OUCH! I had my back molar extracted today. The shots have worn off and the painkillers aren’t working. I thought the abscess hurt.
Sari I think there are other antibihistamines that your dog can take if Benadryl wasn’t an option. I’m thinking chlortrimaton, which I’m sure I’m mangling. I’ll research it and let you know what I find.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeineatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 56 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 80 and sunny for the day. It rained last night. Wasn’t supposed to accordin’ to the weather PTB but did anyway. Looks like it’ll be afternoon before mowage commences.
{{{sunny}}} hope the hurt goes away soonest.
I put a smoked <snerk> butt! <snerk> in the slow cooker this mornin’. It shall be turned into bbq for tomorrow night when we have company for dindin. A good friend’s brother and sil are in town to visit. Haven’t seen Archie and Jackie in a couple of years so it’ll be good to see ‘em tomorrow. I shall make coleslaw and baked beans as well. That’ll keep me off the streets for a while today. Also, tomorrow mornin’ is mowage of the back forty over to the church house.
So, I mow and I cook. Tell me I don’t know how to live it up!
OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, onward into the day!
Happy Firday Y’all!
ETA: First on Four!
OK fine! I’ll just talk to myself then.
Slaw and baked beans are made. I feel all productive. Go Me!
can someone take the husband to the doctors so I can go back to bed?
I had to take some benedryl last night so still quite groggy from that this morning
got a paper to serve too at the jail before I pick him up…please.
Where b the snoozy avy?
Firday blurfage
(altho, every morning is blurfage 'round these parts)
BLURF. gotta go to irk for a few hours. Only for a few hours today as I have to irk a longgg day and night tomorrow.
TGIF.
Sorry, airforce, but that’s one of the hidden vows of marriage: Love, Honor, and take to the Doctor’s…
swampy, I’m beginning to think you were a short-order cook at some diner for a few years with the way you create meals. Or was it a skill you picked up by osmosis?
Got two playoff soccer games to referee tomorrow; I hope neither go to penalty kicks, but I’m on a 5-year run of having games that need a shootout, so we’ll see. I really don’t want to have to do the U-10 Championship game on Sunday (I’ve done so many games for the teams that I’d rather someone ‘neutral’ does it), but if no one signs up, guess I’m it.
And of course rain is forecast all weekend, so I’ll get cold and wet while doing it (why I haven’t had a sick day April baffles me sometime).
Happy Firday!
The sun is shining!
MetalMouse it’s always a toss up whether I want to dine at Swampy’s or Doggio’s.
Although last night I dreamed I was dining at FCM’s but all she was serving was scrambled eggs.
Trying to decide if we should go to the grocery store today or tomorrow. I hate going out and about in Saturdays, but I still feel icky and grumpy.
Hope the tooth stops hurting Sunny.
if this works
Sah-dog pics
Up and caffeinated. I apparently was tired, I slept till 8:30. Going late for closing shift today.
Hope the mouth feels better soon ,Sunnu.
Hugs your way Sunny.
Up and already productive getting some house stuff done. We got many varied plans for tomorrow and it seemed like a good idea to get all that out of the way. We’re doing the afternoon show of Night of the Singing Dead
https://w ww.youtube.com/watch?v=po6_AA755Bo
(its borderline if you have a strict workplace)
and from there I’m doing the hand-out thing while the OW goes to another concert. And from there we’re both doing a party. Long day but appropriate for the best holiday of the year.
I like this photo of his smooshy face
